Plop. Plop. Plop.
Every step brought the squish of mud and sloshing of water. The mash was beginning to aggravate Esras more and more. What the hell was up with all this water and crap? Every footfall was accompanied by a low grunt that was steadily turning into a growl.
He was tired from flying all day and he just wanted to rest, but in this place, that was damn near impossible. There didn't seem to be any dry land for miles around. ad his wing not been so sore, he would just take off and leave. THen again, landing to catch that deer was totally worth it. The pathetic little creature was all alone and crying out. Such an easy target, it was almost not worth it, but the memory of the light fading from its eyes was almost enough to make him smile. Almost.
There were still traces of the creatures blood in his fur, but it was slowly being washed away and covered up by mud and water. Esras Stopped a moment and looked toward this still bright sky. The sun was just path zenith and there wasn't a single cloud in the sky. A rare thing in a place where rain is practically a constant. Either way it didn't matter, really. All Esras cared about is that there was no wind. He couldn't tell by scent who was approaching. After scenting the air-just in case-he scanned the horizon, swiveling his ears while his vlood red eyes slowly moved along.

Laying on a fallen stump, a crimson she wolf stared at the wet marshy ground that was only inches away from her paws. Although the cold feeling of the water felt nice between her paws, walking in the muddy marshes had left her tired and agitated, for treading in mud wasn't the most pleasant thing in the world. Her large paws would only rest upon the surface of the mud for a split second before sinking in. It reminded her almost of snow by the way it reacted, accept for the fact that it stuck to her fur. Even now she could feel it as it dried and clumped her fur together. For the mean time, she was stuck on the only thing she could find that would allow her to rest without touching the cold ground beneath her.
Resting her head upon the rough bark, the she wolf's red orbs scanned the land before her, taking in every little detail that made up this wet ground. Not far away, her red orbs picked up the quick movement of a snake slivering among the surface of the water before sinking down to the depths as a larger creature had come across its path. It wasn't later that more animals and insects began to arise, for as long as she remand still, there was no threat in their eyes. Even a shy little gray fox began to inch its way across the marsh, leaping here and there was it tried to remain dry. But with a soft chuckle the rumbled in her throat, the little gray fox quickly stiffened and began running towards the nearest shelter, no longer caring about getting his pelt wet. Giving off a soft huff, the crimson she wolf slowly lifted her head and stepped down from her dry sanctuary, and into the muddy marsh.
