Many years ago, a pair of wolves found settlement at the base of a mountain covered in thick forestry. There the pack grew and prospered over the years, finding peace within their pack and its surroundings. As their pack grew so did their territory and with new territory came new surprises. One such surprise was the finding of a native human tribe.
Over the next two hundred years, the wolf pack and the human tribe co-existed. The pack was given the name Kamali by the natives, which means Spirit Guide. They had earned this name by showing these humans where the caribou and elk lay hidden. Because of the wolves guide, the natives saw them as great spirits that must be worshiped and respected. Due to this respect, the wolves in turn saw them as kind creatures and in turn left them to their home, vowing never to disturb their peace so long as the natives respected theirs.
It is said that some of the natives befriended the wolves of the Kamali pack. They learned to hunt and play with them. This strong bond led to a deep friendship, furthering the relationship between man and wolf. Some wolves of the pack even joined with the native tribe, changing their pack lives for something new and exciting.
One day, disaster struck and both the natives and the Kamali wolves were forced to move when a great fire took their home. The native people went deeper north, while the wolves went south, closer to the shoreline. Now over a hundred miles separates the native tribe and the pack but neither has forgotten the other over the generations. It has been over a hundred years since that great fire and peace has sheltered the wolves. But who knows how long their good fortune will last.
