the first voice snapped in its bitter, screeching tone. The second voice answered in a calmer, sweeter voice as it tried to soothe the first You spill lies to try and deceive Leviathan. You are not meant to be here, so I suggest you leave. You are not welcome! The first voice gave a screech of indignation and replied swiftlyThe wind was harsh today. Cold and bitter as it danced across the sky, a gleeful shriek escaping parted lips that burned itself a painful path down the auds of any unsuspecting creature who hear the ghastly sound. With a whirl, it flicked frigid fingers into the flesh of creatures as well as into the terrain. It greedily sucked up whatever warmth that the morning and afternoon had brought, leaving only a bare terrain that was chilled and bitter as one stepped upon it. Soon there was no warmth left until the sun rose again and the onyx sky receded as the moon disappeared to give the floor to the sun. Now thick, darkly hued clouds rolled across the endless expanse of sky. They covered most of the stars that twinkled weakly, silver lights dim and not as beautiful as they could be. The moon was a sliver of silver white hue, baring a few rays of moonlight that touched the ground but brought nothing but a faint light. The surrounding terrain was dark, cold and solemn. No creature really stirred beside the lone mouse or two that dared to brave itself in the open for food, even though owls and other predators watched with baited breaths in the inky darkness. The tall, thick trunks of trees were covered in shadows, branches spread out and leaves blocking what little moonlight there was from reaching the earth. The ground, cold and moist, made a sucking sound as a lone deer moved across the wet marsh. The short, stubby grass flipped and flopped, molding leaves making a soft slurp as it sank into the cold, wet mud that caked most of the terrain but not all. A few dry patches gave away to dry, air dirt and sparse green grass that contradicted the brown and dark hued wetlands. The murky waters were silent, ripples across the surface caused by the footsteps of the deer. Everything was silent, so deep and long that it caused hairs to rise and goosebumps to rise upon the flesh. What was out there? What had caused the creatures to frighten so badly that they made nay a sound less they become the creatures prey. What could it possibly be?
As one waited with a breath held deep in their lungs, the soft sound of shallow water splashing could be hear. When a crown turned, orbs peering intently at the shadows, a creature appeared. Small in frame and stature, even though thick blood of mighty beasts ran in the onyx blood, the lupine appeared. A small crown was lifted, finely shaped bones in stark appeared due to the think layer of scaly flesh that was sprung tight. Two auds of tear-drop shape were perked high in the air, listening with reverence for any sound of a approaching beast. Thick lashes flicked down, hiding orbs of silver hue and serpent pupil in almost a coy look, though this lupine was anything but. A small snout was lifted, black nostrils flared as they took in the scents that were carried on the wind, beside the scent of rotting foliage. Slim jowls parted, sickly pale green saliva dripping from yellowed ivories that were sharp and slightly curved in. Two saber like canines pressed softly against a bottom jowl, dripping the same green spittle. A forked tongue escaped the valley of her black lips, tasting the wind before slipping in quickly as though it had never appeared. The small crown gave way to a small neck that in turn gave way to the lean, streamlined body of a runner. The silken hued pelt rippled in the wind, brushing back to show pieces of the onyx scales before they disappeared under the fine hairs. A fluffy banner flicked from side to side, tip dripping with muddied water. Four pillars moved efficiently, one after another without fault. Long white daggers sank into the terrain, cutting through the dirt with ease and causing sound to erupt, even though it was so faint and almost unheard to those who did not have keen hearing. Hard pads didn't even wince when they passed over jagged rocks or bones of creatures who had met their demise in this watery world. The dark hued pelt of navy blue stood out in stark relief to the dull colors of this place, even though it tended to blend in with the shadows to hide the predator from the vying orbs of those who feared it.
The lupine moved without hesitation. Her speed was that of a slow trot, muscles bunching and coiling under the scaly flesh. Mud clung to her pillars and stomach, yet she didn't stop to clean it free or give any indication that it annoyed her. Air rushed down her throat to lungs who needed it to keep her moving and the organs in her body in working order. It was released in a acrid rasp that swirled around her face before it was carried away. Her orbs were focused on nothing but the spot before her, not truly seeing anything at all. Her emotionless orbs were clouded over as though she was lost in thought, oblivious to where she was going and currently where she resided. The skull upon her face moved in harmony with her body, clicking softly each time it came in contact with her skull. The serpent inside the mask hissed out a breath each time it breathed, curled up against the warmth of the cheek that it was pressed upon. Even when it moved and shifted, scales prickling her own, the female did not notice. What could possibly hold her attention so much that she gave up in noticing her surroundings? The conflicted thoughts in her mind that was weird to those who could actually hear the conversation going on. Yes, a conversation. The lupine was listening in to the two voices that lived in her skull, never to speak to them because she did not believe in them. Weird yes but who ever said this creature was normal? By her appearance and her blood, she was anything but your average canine. Give yourself a moment in her silent, cold presence and you will get my meaning. This truly wasn't your regular beast...Why can't you shut up? I was here first and what I say is truuuuuuuth
With a splash, she dropped into water that reached up to her shoulders. Mud sucked at her paws, trying to entrap her but she moved swiftly and jerked them free. Without missing a beat, she swam through the deep waters, spotting one of those dry patches. As soon as she could, she leaped and landed in a crouch. Her pelt was dripping brown water, mud turning it a dirty, darker shade. As she stood tall, she shook herself though it was no use. She was dirty and not likely to get clean until she left this place...which wouldn't be soon. Shaking her crown, and once more ignoring the voices that always bickered in the crevices of her fractured mind, she sat upon her haunches. There she stared into the shadows, contemplating her life and waiting for something....anything. [/blockquote][/blockquote]
