The wind just outside the cave was blowing fiercely. It was howling as it whipped around, bringing in snow and a chill that she absolutely hated. She was back as far as she dared, hunkering down behind a rock to keep warm. IT was a freak storm and she was waiting for it to die down so she may go back to where it was warmer and not so frightening.

Her small body curled in on itself, as she tried to keep as much warmth in as possible. Pink eyes were looking around. It was easy to tell though that the left eye was of no real use. The pink was milky and the pupil very small. But it was far from blind. Zilliah had the ability to see spirits with that eye and looking around the cave, she could see several "purples" floating around. They were just like her at one point, alive and breathing. But no doubt winter had pushed them in here and so ended that fate.

She shivered, burying her dark nose into theblack fur of her tail. She'd get out of here. She had to.

The harsh weather had gotten Kasumi by surprise. The early morning hadn't given a warning of an afternoon blizzard. She had gone out hunting for deer when the light snow quickly became a blizzard. She enjoyed the snow, but not when you couldn't see 5 feet in front of you. The day was fading away and she knew there was no way she could reach the dens safely. She would have to find shelter, and quickly.

The snow stuck to her pelt, making her hard for her to trudge through the snow that had fallen all throughout winter. Her blue eyes were mere slits on her head. She was unfamiliar with this white land. It seemed to go on forever. Except one spot, not too far ahead. Kasumi made her way through the snow, glad to have found something. It was large and dark, barely visible through the snow. As she got closer she could see the details more clear.

Why, it was a cave!

Kasumi began to trudge through the snow as fast as she could. Finally, someplace warm. She entered the cave and discovered it was quite cold. She shivered and pushed away the thought. At least it's blocked from the snow and wind, she though to herself. She began to head deeper into the cave, finding it was getting warmer and warmer...

The wind was howling and Zilliah was curling tighter into herself. Then finally the purple spots she saw with her blind eye seemed to scatter, as if spooked suddenly. She froze, licking her lips. THis could mean several things, one someone else was near, or something else was near. She shifted, wanting to stay invisible but needing to know what was going on.

Taking a breath, she slowly lifted her head over the rock, ears back so they stick up like a homing beacon. What she saw wasn't purple, and she relaxed a fraction of the way. IT was another wolf, moving in closer from the cold. Now she was in another predicament. Was it friend or foe?

Afraid to truly find out, she hunkered back toward the ground, tucking her colored tail and hitting her butt against the wall. Camouflage, thats the key.

Graal pads through the bitter wind, snowflakes stinging his tender nose as they impact like freezing sand.
"Best find a cave" he thinks to himself.
His legs are numb, his pads leaving a crimson trail behind him, having cracked in the cold.
He spots another wolf's trail, a mere inch from his nose, almost completely recovered in the blizzard. Turning to follow it, he puts one paw down, then further down, and further than that.
"Fenris!" he curses, readjusting his balance to avoid plunging into a chasm that opens up to the side of him. Graal shakes his head,
"Why in Tor's name am I even here?" he mutters, following the trail.

The cave was only slightly warmer than outside. She shook her body to make sure she had no flakes to make her colder than she already was. She exhaled quietly, a soft whine escaping from her mouth as another gust of wind hit her. She shook her fur off once again and began to travel further back.

It got darker the further she went back. She sniffed around the cave, hoping some mice had found there way here as she did. Her stomach growled in agreement as she caught scent of something. But, it was not a mouse. Not even prey. It was a wolf.

She spotted her behind a rock, scrunched down as small as she could get. Kasumi layed on her forelegs, giving signs of good intentions. She let out a friendly bark to encourage her to not be afraid.

Perhaps she might be chased away, but it was worth a try.

Zillah swallowed as she waited, using her ears and her extra special eye to help indicate anything off. Then she she saw the shift in the light and the other's figure emerged. Zillah swallowed and waited, but it hadn't mattered. No doubt her fresh flesh had given her away. The other barked and she flinched slightly.

Really she had no where to go. Out in the snow storm was dangerous. She licked her lips and just shifted slightly. She didn't respond back, wasn't sure how to.'

Kasumi stopped her playful movements when she noticed the wolf was frightened, trying to escape from her view. She backed away to give her some space, sitting at the opposite side of the cave. As she got comfortable she noticed a figure though the think snow, just outside the cave. He spoke in a tongue unfamiliar to her. His head was bowed, along with his body. She stood up and returned the bow. After a moment, she realized it was not a bow, but rather a movement to keep balance from the winds that could blow him down.

Graal barks in answer to Kasumi's own call, announcing "I'm here, I am seeking shelter too!" before he quickens his pace towards where he thinks the sound probably originated from.

He sees the cave through a small break in the bitter ice and wind, one wolf at the enterance, perhaps another inside. He approaches noisily, his wide pads crunching loudly on the snow and sleet than covers the rocky ground.
"Hai Drappa!" he calls, bowing his head and body against the wind as he steps closer to the cave mouth.

(( oh damn, and then I go ahead and realise this is before Wolfie's post and I must have deleted two posts ^_^; It IS your turn to post, I was being an idiot ))

It went from just the two of them to one more. Zillah blinked as she heard a voice and sat up to look over. Oh great. Now this one though, well she wasn't sure what to think. Zillah shifted, they were all looking for ways out of the cold and they seemed to mean no harm. So far at least.

She cleared her throat. 'Um...I wouldn't go that way.' She motioned toward the back end. "Its uh, dark.'

Kasumi was relieved that the wolf wasn't so scared she wouldn't speak. "I'm Kasumi. I came to this cave for shelter from the storm. I presume that's why your here too." She moved a little closer to the wolf and sat down on the cold floor. A shiver ran through her body and she shook her fur. "Brrrr, it sure is cold out there. I didn't even know the storm was on it's way. Or else I would've stayed in my own den and gathered food." Her stomach growled when she mentioned food. "Oh, I do hope this storm clears soon."

Graal chuckles as he steps ever closer to the cave, the wind lessening as he nears the entrance.
"Hai Drappa." he growls, his tail straight out, the tip flicking up just slightly, before noticing the smaller wolf huddled up in the corner. His tail drops a few inches as he smells the fear on her body, just under the smell of his own blood,
"Well at least my nose works." he thinks to himself.
His voice softens from his harsh language into a soft-spoken, yet almost gruff voice:
"Hey there cub, no need to be shy. Ah graal voh. That means that I will protect you, okay?" he says, a soft smile on his cold face, with an almost sorrowful twinkle in his eyes.
He glances back to Kasumi with a nod and a smile.
"Did I hear that you'd rather stay in your den than explore? This weather is mild where I am from, I am just a little unprepared, but that is why I am here now, to learn how to live in the cold again."

Thecave was getting more than crowded. She wasn't sure what to say or do. The cave had been safe and now she wasn't sure if she should risk the storm, or risk getting closer to the entrance just to be safe. Certainly going back further would not be a good idea. She looked to Graal as he called her a cub and she lifted a brow. Last she had checked she had been full grown. Traumatized, but not so young as to need constant protection. Reassurance though was nice every one in a while. Zillah however, just stayed quiet, letting the conversation carry on without her.

Kasumi chuckled when Graal called the she-wolf a pup. She looked the same age as her and Kasumi was no longer a pup. She smiled back at Graal and was shocked at what he said. "You mean you want to live in weather like this all the time? But its so....cold". Kasumi shivered just thinking of living in the cold. "I guess I could get used to it if I really wanted to. But I prefer the warmth of the sun on my back."
