Graal smiles, jumping from broken pillar, collapsed roof, tree branch and building walls, he scours the ruins for Midnight. "She's certainly a skilled Vulf, she conceals her shape well." he thinks to himself, grinning as he passes her hiding spot yet again, pretending not to know where she is. He lies on the ground, looking right at the entrance to the hollow where she hides."Well, I'm stumped, I have absolutely no idea where she is..." he huffs, trying to keep a straight face. "She's sooooo good at hiding!"

Midnight grins from her hiding spot. Then she jumps out, rolls, and neatly hits the back of his front legs, hoping to knock them out. Then, she would jump on him and stand on his body, saying in a childish voice, "I beat you again, big brother!" She loved calling him that. It made her feel safe, and like she had a place in this world.

Graal smiles up at Midnight as the almost-pup stands atop him, barely weighing a thing. "Nuh-uh! You cheated!" he retorts with a grin. He rocks his body, trying to topple her gently into a soft pile of leaves in the corner. He knew she hadn't cheated, but he loved to tease her. "What WOULD others think? Knowing my little sister cheats!?" he asks, pinning her firmly in the soft leaves almost nose to nose.

"They would say I get it from you!" she says, looking like shes begging with her paws in the air. "And how did I cheat, smartie-paws?!?" She wriggles, digging deeper into the leaves until she disappears.

Graal mock-gasps, "You cheat like that!" he exclaims, burying his head through the leaves toward her belly, nuzzling her while calling "Coochi-cootchie-coo!", a tactic which had worked wonder on his half-sister.
"Guess what..." he whispers into her ear, smiling softly. "Found you..."

She screamed when he tickled her; then started laughing, thrashing in the leaves to try to escape. "Stop! Stohop!" she shouts breathlessly, still laughing. She manages to wiggle free, then runs a little ways away, turns, and slaps her forepaws on the ground. Then she hit the puppy wall-that wall were one minuite they want to play, the next they're exausted. She yawns. "I'm tired." she walks over to him. "Can we nap, please?" she always had a nap in the middle of the day with him. She always asks with good manners, too. It was her favorite part of the day, because they always were together and she was always safe with him. Midnight sat there, looking up at him with soft eyes and a loving face.

Graal chuckles, as tired as her, but showing weakness to her now would be to upset the way she viewed him. "Very well, Midnight, let's head back to the den, we can rest safely there." he says, calmly padding towards her with a gentle smile on his face. "Come on, climb on and I'll carry you." he offers, lowering his body so that she could climb on and rest. "Have you seen my den yet? It's not far from Thunder's at all, a few minutes of walking and you're at her home." he says, trying to lull the pup to sleep with his voice.

"Thank you," she replies, climbing on. Midnight thought it was interesting but not surprising that Thunders den was so close. "Mmmm..." was all she said, sleepily.

Graal smiles, the warm weight on his back was as comforting to him as he was to her. Hopping down several floors was easy in the ruins, the roofs slanting and rafters projecting from empty buildings provided a safe path down to the ground without having to disturb his charge. As he reaches the soft forest earth, he turns to look at the sleepy form on his back, "How're you doing, sleepy-head?" he whispers, not wanting to wake her if she was already asleep. He continues along the short 5 minute walk to his den, ears up and scanning the area for possible predators for any that might fancy the two of them an easy snack.

"Mmm?" she mumbles, not quite asleep. "Fine. You're softer than I expected. You should work out more often; you feel like a big squishy grub." she says, almost awake. She is small enough that she can sit up when she hears the ferocious growling. Her fur stands on end when she sees, standing in front of them, a huge, demonic bear.
((you can make the bear do anything, like grab me or swat me. You can say i broke a bone too, if you fancy it. Just whatever. ill go with it. *Hands over demonic bear*))

His heart skips a beat as the sound of that gutteral, animalistic growl. Graal backs away from the sound and slips Midnight gently to the mossy ground. "Midnight! Midnight wake up!" he begs, trying to stir her to full wakefulness. "Come Drappa! You must fly from here, grow wings and fly!"
Seeing the wolves, the bear stands on it's hind legs and bellows out with rage and hate at these trespassers on his lands, before placing his massive feet back on the soft ground, leaving deep prints wherever it steps, marking it's territory. He gives them 5 seconds to retreat, even a bear has that much honour, before he finally commits to the attack. He begins to run towards the wolves, a feral growl seemingly emanating from the furthest reaches of hell.

Midnight was awake. "NO!" she cries, "I won't leave you!" She darts away to the side of the bear, running to a tree. Springing up it, she stands on a branch, ready. When it came running at her, if it did, she would launch herself off the tree right before it crashed into the tree, or stopped to snap at her. Then she would pelt off towards Graal. "Come on!" she shouts, "To the ruins!"

"Nort voh!" The words explode from Graal, desperation taking ahold of him, heart beating faster, blood racing, he charges blindly at the bear, seeking only to distract it from his sister.
The bear, seeing Midnight run up a tree, gives up on that target, choosing instead to kill the adult first, and enjoy eating the child later. He turns his body to face Graal.
His body races, a loud roar in his ears deadens him to all extraneous sounds. "She cannnot die!" his mind screams.
The massive paw throws him into the air with an audible snap, and he lands in a broken heap at the base of the tree Midnight is in.

She screams mindlessly. Fury takes a hold of her, and she locks onto the bear through a haze. Her eyes turn blood red, and she charges at the bear. Something snapped inside her, and no longer was she the helpless sister. Rather, a mindless beast with only one goal: kill. A sound erupts from her; a roar or a snarl, maybe somewhere in between. Smashing into the bear, she knocks it over and breaks its spine with one motion. She breaks every other bone, and slashes it repeatedly with her teeth and claws. Screaming her rage and victory standing atop it, head thrown to the sky. She is terrified. That is the only word. Her mind is battling; her true self is cowering in a corner, desperately trying to protect itself from the feral beast.
It hit her. Usually it was soft and welcoming, but this time it was hard; Graal was dying, and needed help. She couldn't get out of it though. It held her, and she couldn't reject it.
Unconsciousness.

Graal watches Midnight through a haze of pain, the world appearing as an exaggerated monochrome red. A single tear rolls down his cheek. Not from the pain, but from the sight of her. "You failed her!" his mind screams, waves of anger, despair and defeat wash over his carefully erected mental floodgates.
PAINLESS.
"Enough is enough." he thinks to himself. He hadn't failed her, she had become strong while he was weak, pathetic and useless. She has become strong, touching the very core of her being, that evil selfishness that had kept him alive had been in her as well, and it had saved then both.
He steps towards her, slipping in the red puddles left by her brutal attacks, and picks her up by the scruff, carrying her back to his den, where he carefully licks the blood and grime from her tiny body.
PAIN.
It was only when he was satisfied that she was clean that the pain kicked in again, taking the breath from his lungs in a long, low whine. He'd be there for her when she woke.
"That's twice I owe you now, my sister."
