Graal sighs, "You know, eating anything that numbs pain is incredibly dangerous, it can even stop your heart. You know that, right?" he asks, grimacing. He cocks his head, smiling slightly, "Buuuuuuut~ I bet sharing a hunt with you will make the pain go away." he says, winking with the offer. "I bet that'll make me feel better."

Midnight rolls her eyes. "Fine, whatever. But you have to keep up." She says, sprinting off toward a brook nearby. She had seen it earlier, with a calming sound of water gurguling over the river peoples. She loved places like that. They were so calming, and it really was a perfect place; a little clearing with one large oak tree hanging over the banks. She headed towards it now, jumping up to the limb hanging over the littl stream.

Graal smiles gently, watching her run off with the speed of one so young. "Couldn't match that even if I was healthy..." he mumbles, shaking his head as he begins to walk after her.
Padding along her wide trail of furry destruction, he found her, sitting in a tree looking down at her. "Don't be so smug, Drappa." he calls, then grins, "Better climber than a damn spider." his mind whispers. "Enjoy the cub-eating ants up there, I saw them eat a whole lion in mere moments, before. Ah well, nice knowing you."

She stuck her tounge out at him. "I don't belive you. I'he been in lots of trees. I love places like this. Water, trees, open...." she trailed off. Oooh, what a nice surprise. It was a mango tree. Odd, they usually only grew on the beach. She picked a couple anyway, and jumped down and brought them to Graal. "Try these, there really good and sweet. They give you energy too. I love them." She ate two and sat, watching him for his reaction when he ate one.

"Oh no! I've been found out!" he chuckles, looking up at her. At her suggestion, he looks down at the odd fruit, never before he'd he seen such a thing, red at one end but green at the other. "She seems to think they're okay, who am I to argue?" he asks himself, leaning down and taking a bite.
"By Fenris!" his mind yells, the pain in his chest forgotten, "This is amazing!" His first probing nibble had been the beginning of something in Graal, he couldn't get enough of the soft, sweet yellow flesh or the sticky juice dripping from his mouth into the stream. "What are these!?" he exclaims, looking up at Midnight with a look of bewildered joy on his face.

"Their mangoes." she said briefly. She went back to the tree, thinking about jumping in it, but stopped. She went back over to Graal. She felt odd, restless. She wanted to run to the horizon and back, and her pelt felt crawly. She waited until he was done, then told him what she was feeling. "I don't get ut," she confessed, "it's scaring me."

Graal chuckles, licking his lips. "I'll be honest, I've not heard of or experienced anything similar, but I think I may just know what it is you're feeling." he says, mind whirling between restraint and excitement, not helped by the sugar in the mangos. "I really shouldn't feel like this..." He takes a deep breath, focusing only on the sound of the stream.
Painless.
Graal sighs, relaxing his tensed body as he exhales. "Calm yourself, Drappa, I can smell what you feel, and so can others. Take a swim, that'll help you to relax." he states, emotion dropping from his face and voice. "You are growing up."

She just stares dumbly at him, not comprehending. 'Growing up? What....' It clicks, and she cant even speak. She is scared of the excitment in his thoughts. She slips into the brooke, it being only knee-deep to a wolf. She is shocked by the lack of emotion he emits. She didn't want to grow up, it meant leaving Graal and going off by herself. Dully, she looked to him now for an explination.
((What's with the painless?))

(( Painless is his self-control, he completely blocks out all the importance of sensory input. He feels the excitement, but he doesn't feel it. It's like taking morphine - you know it hurts, but it doesn't seem important, so you ignore it ))
Graal nods calmly, "In time, we shall have to part. We always knew this. I merely did not expect it to be so soon... I suspect neither did you." he says, stepping down into the brook himself, padding towards her, placing a paw on her nose. "I won't leave you yet, don't worry so much."
(( Can't think of much else to say :/ ))

"No, I'll ignore it. It's going away now, actually." In truth, it really was. She still felt a little jittery, but not bad. She was still excited, and wanted to run and play. "So you really did like the mangoes? Well, there are a few other fruits that are like that. Peaches, for example, are really sweet, and on the outside their really fuzzy, like puppy fur. They'rereallygood though." It was about two hours before noon, and the weather was cool, but not to the point of uncomfortableness. "We should go somewhere. Like explore."

Graal nods slowly, "You eat a lot of fruit for one of your age, many would say too much..." he states, "Although, yes, I did enjoy them very much. Perhaps I should teach you some of the plants I ate when I was on my journey to these lands..." stepping deeper into the stream, up to his own chest in water.
Pain.
Pain begins to radiate through Graal's chest again, illiciting a hiss and a quiet growl as the cold water soaks him, flashing ice down his ribs. "At least I can think better now. Pain always focuses the mind. he thinks, smiling towards the young she-wolf. "We can go anywhere you want, Midnight, I will protect you no matter where we are.

Frozen to the Soul trotted along an old beaten down path. He had been along it many times before, but not anytime recently. Up ahead, he knew there was a stream- and after killing his rabbit he needed to get a drink and wash his fur of blood. By accident, he had killed the rabbit rather messily, coating his muzzle and front paws in a thin but noticeable layer of blood. Grunting, he continued along his path towards the stream. As he drew nearer to it, he can hear its trickle and voices. He couldn't make out the words, but he could hear them. "Maybe I should come back later..." He thought aloud, his accent tinting his words as he began to slow his pace to a complete halt. Shaking his head, he snorted. 'What do -I- have to be afraid of? I've been coming to this stream for moons! I can wash myself here if I want, other wolves or not.' He growled mentally, starting up his pace again until he came out from under the canopy of the trees. Frozen almost yelped in surprise at just how close the strangers were- it was certainly closer than he had anticipated. He backed off a little in the opposite direction, hopefully before either of them had seen him. Trying to act nonchalant in the presence of the strangers, he clambered into the stream. The stream was quite the bit lower on him than it was on the smallest of the pair, and slightly lower than the other ones. He couldn't really tell they're genders from here, but from the voices he knew one was male and one was female. 'That's only to be expected, though.' He thought with a shrug, turning to the task at hand. Slowly he began to wash his paws in the stream, until all of the blood had drained from his fur- now only his muzzle was left. Frozen had to admit, looking at his reflection in the stream beneath him- especially with the blood splashed across his muzzle and his scar across his nose, he looked insane and very intimidating. Even to himself. 'No wonder why people automatically leap at the sight of me.' He mused, momentarily forgetting the other wolves just a little ways down the stream from him.

Midnight, responding to Graals' ok, had gone back up into the tree to scope the place out. She yelped in surprise when Frozen walked into the clearing. He was handsome. Brown-and-creamish fur ruffled slightly in the breeze. His eyes, though. They were deep golden-brown, and she seemed to get lost in them. His only marr was the scar on the bridge of his nose by the eyes. She tracked him from the edge of the clearing to the water. She landed lightly on the ground, and padded over. Shooting a quick look at Graal, she said, "Hello. Who are you?"
Her voice was no longer high pitched and puppy like. It was deeper, and velvety. Naturally.

(( Sorry about the long reply times, I've been concentrating on exams and work >.< )) Graal glances at the dark and tan wolf, his body tensing again,"Relax, the only person putting her in danger is herself." he thinks, looking between the two.
"If she thinks she's growing up that fast, she's got another thing coming."
He takes a step closer to Frozen and in front of Midnight. The icy cold water receding from his ribs as he stands on sunken and slippery rocks, his ears rolling back to flatten to his head. His nose flares, taking in the giddy scent of Midnight as well as the smell of the stranger.
"Definately a stranger." "Voh spech en Vulftung? Vyt nort, voh vill nort hath ash Drappa."(( Do you speak Vulftung? If not, you cannot have my female." Go super paternal and possessive instincts! )) He calls, challenging the wolf with tail raised high. Whatever Midnight does, he won't let her near a stranger in her state, especially not a male one. "Do you want something, stranger?" he says, speaking the common tongue of the land.
