plop........plop.........plop-plip......
A soft sneeze was uttered as drops of dew slid down the leaves of the jungle trees, interrupting an easy slumber. Bright eyes squinted in frustration, their many shades of green flickering in contrast with her mood. A nap should come easy to a wolfess with nothing to do, but it seemed today meant no rest for the weary.
"Ah, well.... I'm hungry anyway."
Slender arms uncurled from beneath her lithe figure, and her rump went up as her head went down. Oh, how she loved to stretch! A quiet yawn escaped from her maw as she righted herself and padded from beneath the foliage.
"What shall I eat today?" she inquired aloud, searching the jungle for any signs of life. It was incredibly quiet today, which made her feel somewhat uneasy. Usually, the trees around her were alive with bird calls and various barks, meows, cackles, and whatever other noises the bodies about could produce. She decided to pay no mind to it, however. There were more important matters to attend to.
She began with a slow trot, gradually building up speed. She fled quietly through the underbrush, sniffing about as she went. Food was normally plentiful here, even if it wasn't meat. There were fruits galore, rivers for fishing, and wildlife ran amok. She hadn't gone hungry since venturing into this odd part of the world.
"Aha!"
Ink talked to herself often, without meaning to. It almost helped keep her sane in the weeks and months that would pass without contact with other wolves. She had grown accustomed to her life of solitude, despite the fact that she did not enjoy it. She had suddenly caught whiff of a boar that had recently passed through the area, and began to pick up her pace...
