Drejan nodded in agreement. He then fell into pace beside Mage and listened intently as he talked. A range of expressions passed across his face as the story was told. A demon. He had actually never seen one before, though he had heard it multiple times in his old pack, most of the time as a curse, and once as a threat. He shooke his head in disgust when he heard it had been Mage's uncle who had done it.
The pace that they were in was just right for him. He was able to slowly recover from the exertion caused by trying something new. A look of worry crossed Drejan's face as he saw Mage's tired expression, but had a feeling he wouldn't want to stop and rest quite yet. He looked ahead again towards the river, nodded his head, and said, "We'll be able to get her back, I'm sure of it." Similar to Mage, he had said it confidently to make himself feel at ease, and to keep his hopes up. He may have just met Mage, but he really wanted to help find Blaze. Family that loves each other should never be separated like this.

Mage nodded, quietly looking ahead with sudden interest. His ears turned forward as he picked up sounds coming from the river, mostly just the natural noises but perhaps he was hopeful for something more. The soft motion of the water, a splash here and there as its current ran across shallow areas of exposed pebbles. Aside from the fish, other small critters and Drejan and himself, there was no other wolf to be seen.
Mage's ears lowered in disappointment, but he quickly stepped across a shallow area and crossed to the other side, looking around for anything of interest. "I still don't understand..." He mumbled, looking up into the few surrounding trees, thinking that maybe he had missed something. In his first visit here, he hadn't been thinking clearly and had only searched the ground. Blaze did have the occasional use of her fiery wings to take flight, but how could he have missed all this while he had fallen into the river for but a moment?

Eavath was walking slightly behind Mage as they came upon the river. He looked around the area carefully, trying to see any signs of tracks leading away, or possibly signs of struggle somewhere. His eyes gazed slowly and methodically over the entire clearing. Scanning up and down, from the branches of the trees back down to the ground.
He saw Mage cross at a shallow part of the river. He walked to the edge and watched as Mage started scanning around as well. Drejan then cross the river himself at the same spot Mage did. He went and stood by him and scanned the area again once more before saying, "Do you think maybe your uncle has anything to do with what happened?"
