-[glow=blue,2,300]Name:[/glow] Iiz'Vith - Translating to English it means ice serpent.
-[glow=blue,2,300]Gender:[/glow]Male
-[glow=blue,2,300]Race:[/glow] Dragon - Of an ice/frost origin.
-[glow=blue,2,300]Appearance:[/glow] A pure white dragon standing at 18 feet tall with wings that, at full extension, reach around 30 feet wide, but fold for ease of movement on the ground.
His eyes, like the pointed scales that armor him, are white and matte rather than shiny, so as not to cast a glare whenever he is hiding in the snow capped mountains, but the lining he uses for this can be opened to reflect light in dark situations.
-[glow=blue,2,300]Personality:[/glow]Iiz is sociable which is not regular behavior for a dragon, especially one with his looks. He loves to actually learn and help others with their problems, and with his white scales he likes to consider himself “good” in nature while most might see him as a pest. But sometimes he can be a little too…blunt with people. Missing sheep or cows might be a little common if he were to visit a town since he is still a dragon and does still tend to fall back to his primal roots. Also most people just throw things and try to shoo him off when he does go to a village, which is why he tends to stay in the forests or in ruins talking with other races rather then humans.
-[glow=blue,2,300]Magic:[/glow] The type of magic Iiz uses is in short ice/frost, ice being solid water that is super chilled and frost being super chilled air. The way he uses them varies from a stream of cold air that if the person that is on the receiving end stands in it for too long will receive cuts and frost bite along with nerve damage. While ice is used in deadlier ways such as spikes or a type of “hail” which will be explained in the spells. Also if near water he can manipulate it to turn into ice then melt it back into water if he so chooses. Manipulating water would be making pillars or “walls” of it that he would freeze, this would be mainly used for defense.
-[glow=blue,2,300]Spells:[/glow] Frost Breath - A stream of super chilled air is blow from his mouth causing winds to be or up to 40 mph, which if a person stands in the stream long enough will cause skin to freeze and crack and frost bite.
Ice Breathe - Unlike frost breathe, ice breathe uses actual solid objects, inside Iiz’s mouth he forms small spikes of ice which with a combination of chilled air is hurled at a person or thing causing them to driven deep into the object or if strong enough like stone it will shatter sending shards of the ice in all directions.
Hail - With a loud and obvious roar a storm would begin to form over the immediate area, soon after hail the size of small fists would begin to fall with enough force that if you held out your hand, it would dislocate your wrist or possible break bone.
Blizzard - Like Hail it is also a roar, except from the storm comes not hail but snow and gale force winds.
Water manipulation - If a source of water is near by he could with slight growls and manipulation could freeze or move the water how ever he wishes, but to an extent. He cannot fly it too high or far from himself or it will just simple fall back to the ground, and the freezing process takes 10 - 15 seconds depending on the water.
-[glow=blue,2,300]Skills:[/glow] Flight - Being an avid flyer he could fly for hours without tiring, and the only time in those hours he might come down is if he is hungry or thirsty.
Teeth/Claws - Each tooth and nail is finely honed to a point and his claws can be cold enough so that if he were to dig his claws in it would cause frost bite. While his teeth are like that of a komodo dragon, if bitten the toxins from the bite (which are actually bacteria) would likely cause the affected persons blood to go septic and eventually die without treatment.
Scales/Tail - Each scale is as stated before also sharp so if his tail were to hit someone at an angle and draw back, it would give them minor to moderate cuts along the affected area. His tail is capable of knocking down small structures made of wood or some other then material’s such as stone and metal.
Eye sight - Being a dragon with beady eyes he cannot see much that is not directly in his vision, though the detail in the small area is great and he could see for a couple miles with ease when flying.
Speed - Being again, a dragon he is not the fastest, though his tail is good at delivering a good whip like wound.
Strength - Again…being a dragon his strength is comparable to his size, so he is quite strong and could easily challenge any man or beast that would try to take on his claws.
Smell - He can smell things quite well, be it blood or the smell of cooking meat on a spit a couple miles away, consider him like a shark just a flying one.
Intelligence - After living for so many years and being unlike most dragons in that he can be social he is quite intelligent and does know a variety of languages. But he does on occasion use words of his own tongue in place of what should be there, like saying grohiik rather then wolf.
Hearing - This is probably his weaken sense/skill, being that his ears are pretty much holes in the side of his head, he has a hard time hearing so when people talk to him he has a tendency to get close to them.
-[glow=blue,2,300]Biography:[/glow]
Week 1 - Day 1 - In this book I shall be recording my travels and discoveries, my name is Alistair Fol. I work for a research institute in Abunage and for one of my last assignments I have taken it upon myself to find a family or “clan” of dragons and study them. Which is still to this day unheard of in the human world…if anyone were to find this I would request it be returned to Abunage for evaluation…till then everything I see worth noting shall be written down. Now with the formalities out of the way I shall begin my journey by heading north, I have a couple of days worth of food and water…lets just hope I actually find something.
Week 1 - Day 5 - I had come across a village reporting a few missing animals, they said it was the work of what I have been searching for, dragons…specifically one large male with a hole in his right wing and scales that were a slight blue or white. They told me if I were crazy enough to actually try and find it that I must search the mountains to the north east. Being that this village lays in the shadow of those mountains I could expect to get to the base in a couple of days…good thing the patrons were kind enough to provide me with some more food and water. In the morning I shall head out.
Week 1 - Day 7 - I seem to be making good time, considering I was told it would take 3 days to make it to the base of the mountains. After pitching my tent and getting relaxed last night though I did hear some odd sounds in the woods…though they were probably just some wolves or random creatures on the hunt. Good thing I must not have been on their minds. Well…other then that I have little to re-. Strike that last message, as I was righting I heard something over head, after exiting my tent and looking around I saw little…but I could swear I heard the beating of large wings. Must just be my imagination…probably need more sleep.
Week 2 - Day 9 - After climbing the mountain and searching around some of the sides I managed to find a cave, I have yet to go inside due to the sun was going down, but in the morning I shall head in…lets hope these bones are not old enough to climb down a mountain incase something inside decides to chase me out.
Week 2 - Day 10 - I did it, I found two dragons inside the cave…thankfully they were asleep and did not notice me peeking in. But…I did notice something, there was an egg between the two in a small hay stack, a crude one I might add but a nest none the less. I come to the conclusion that the two are the parents of the egg and I noticed that one dragon had a hole in its right wing…must be the male and the other the female. I will see tomorrow how the re-act to my presence.
Week 2 - Day 11 - Well they acted a little better then expected, the male saw me first and quickly turned his attention to me. He bared his teeth and let a low growl, I held my hands up trying to show I was not a threat, but it did not change him. The female sat in the back with the egg, protecting it. I will give it time and see how the react to me after a few days or weeks of being near them.
Week 3 - Day 19 - They finally do not act as hesitant around me and the male has stopped growling, at this moment I am righting this I am in the presence of the dragons…though the male does seem a little aggravated by me righting…so I had best stop.
Week 5 - Day 38 - I know I have not wrote in awhile…actually weeks but I had to keep trying to find food and water and I could not stay up long enough to write anything down…but today I had a breakthrough. In my withered state the dragons offered me some food, as if caring for how I was…well the female did, the male more or less stood there and did not take his eyes off of me. I guess the female see’s me more as company and the male more as an annoyance…I wonder if I spend more time with them that they will let me see the egg more often and let me write in there presence without them getting defensive. But only time will tell…
Week 8 - Day 61 - Well the egg hatched and the parents actually let me near the new hatchling, which was much larger then anticipated. And I heard some odd noises coming from the parents that could be described as words…though I was able to make out two Iiz'Vith I probably spelled that wrong but what ever it means probably has some significance on the hatchling. The hatchling it’s self has white scales and right now small wings and a small tail in proportion to its body.
Week - ? - Day ? - I lost track of my days and weeks…but I can tell you that I have been here long enough to actually and I do mean actually teach the little hatchling, its amazing as to how it mimics me and its parents and copies their words and mine…it is quite the fast learner for how young it is. I guess the speaking of a random language and learning some of my own language proves that they are intelligent and not mindless beasts.
Week ? - Day ? - *random scribbles all around the page* Well I sort of taught the hatchling to write by putting one of my pencils in its mouth and letting it…well scribble, but as for helping it learn my language, it is going good if not great. It can speak simple sentences and it has sort of taught me a few words of its own…though I don’t know what they mean. But again time will tell how fast I and the hatchling learn.
Wee ? - Day ? - I don’t even know why I put the week and day anymore…but on topic, the hatchling is starting to learn to fly and by the looks of things outside I would say it has been….a year or two since I have been here, it still amazes me how that little guy can pick things up so quickly. I mean he has sort of grasped my language with ease while…for me I am having trouble with his. It just sounds like random letter put together, but then again his parents probably think the same for mine…I stopped teaching the hatchling how to write thought cause he broke a few of my pencils and ripped some pages, so I will just write in the dirt on the ground to teach him letters.
Wee - Forget it…have little time, this past winter was harsh…not even the parents would fly outside…and I thin- think I have come down with some kind of ailment…I don’t think I have long to live. I have given one last request to the hatchling who I learned was named Iiz'Vith meaning Ice Serpent…how fitting to how he has grown up. Back on topic…I gave him a request to drop this journal off at the town, but not to stop flying…just drop it, so to whom ever finds this, please…consider what I have put here as all facts and that dragons are not mindless creatures, they are intelligent more so then us at times. Even as I write Iiz'Vith is standing over my shoulder reading what I write and asking me fragmented questions about this and that…I am trailing again…in short, be kind to the dragons and they will return the favor, and just leave them be and they will try to leave you be…silly words coming from a dying old man…but it had to be said, time for my corny exit I suppose.
