A Loner's Trouble (Open)

Einemauge sat in the small clearing he had found. He had spent the day exploring the vast land, having just arrived. It was about midday when he noticed he was being followed. He wandered around some more, waiting to see if his follower would make a move on him. They didn't, they just spent the whole afternoon watching, and following him. Old Dead Eye had seen many things, and he was fairly certain he wasn't in any immediate danger. He decided to call out to his stalker.

"Hello! I know you're out there. Come on out and tell me what you want."

Eichi heard his voice and smelled him. She couldn't see him though. She was completely blind. She wandered closer to the loner's voice. "I mean no harm. I just have never smelled you before. I wanted to meet you." Eichi came closer, as close as she thought safe, and dipped her head in greeting. "My name is Eichi. What is yours?"

Einemauge looked on at the other wolf. His heightened warrior senses didn't detect any threats, but he kept his guard up nonetheless. The old wolf didn't look dangerous, but you never could tell.
"My name is Ei... Dead Eye. Why were you following me all day?"

"I didn't know who you were, and I wanted to find out." Eichi said, as if that explained everything. She sniffed his fur. He seemed experienced, not like some of the people she met. He also smelled differently, as if not all of his skin was connected as it should be. "You have scars..." Eichi said thoughtfully. "On your face...your ear defiantly, perhaps your nose... no eyes. I can't tell. Eichi pulled away from the wolf. "You've seen many battles?"

Einemauge looked at the wolf quizzically. "Yes, I have seen action. How can you tell that by just sniffing me?" Einemauge looked on at the wolf strangely, sensing something abnormal about her.

Eichi let out a low laugh. "As a demon my senses are stronger then that of an average wolf. Also I've lived a long time blind. My old mentor taught me many things, how to feel the wind and sun to determine if there are any clouds out, how to smell for rain, how to listen to how the breeze blows past objects and determine from that where and what objects are there. Eichi smiled and turned her hed toward the wolf... Dead Eye. "If you don't mind my asking, 'Dead Eye,' how did you get your name?"

Einemauge laughed to himself and settled down in the clearing. "It is a long story, but can be summed up easily. I used to be in a pack a long time ago. I was a highly respected warrior, often giving advice to the alphas on battle. I was uh... scammed into a delicate situation by one of the pack members. Everyone I ever called my friend turned against me, and I was banished. After a while I gathered the support of a group of loners. They helped take my revenge on the pack. Unfortunately, I was again overthrown by the loners this time. In the battle my left eye was gorged out. I've been going by Dead Eye ever since."

Graal listened to the pair talk, lying in some cool moss only a few meters away. He had been hoping for some quiet time to think, be alone and consider his options.
"Did I hurt her with what I did?" he thinks, letting out a quiet sigh as he peels the last strip of leaves from his shoulder, leaving bits and pieces stuck in his fur. The bruising was almost gone, and although his rib was still painful, the old wolf was pretty sure it had mostly healed, and only the flesh had yet to heal.
He stands carefully, slowly putting his weight on the right fore-paw until he was balanced with equal pressure all around.
"She knows her arts well." he muses, an admiring smile creeping across his muzzle as he begins the long walk home, his rib already aching.
"What doesn't kill me only makes me stronger." he tells himself, not really thinking about what route he takes as he steps around the trees, right between the two wolves, still limping.
"Great. Now I look weak AND rude! Doesn't matter, keep walking, pretend you didn't see them!"

Einemauge looked on at the wolf who limped between him and Eichi with a look that could only be described as pure contempt. He had no idea how long the wolf had been there or what he had been doing. He also didn't know why the wolf was now walking away as if they weren't there. Turning to him he shouted. "Hey jack***, thanks for interrupting us. You think I can't see you? Get over here!"

Eichi had smelled someone walking. She knew he was close, but didn't know why Dead Eye seemed mad at him. The wind wasn't in a favorable position for her to properly smell the new comer. "Excuse me for asking, but how did you interrupt us? As she said this Eichi began to search for the new wolf's position.

""Hey jack***, thanks for interrupting us. You think I can't see you? Get over here!"
"Faaantastic, now look what happened!" he thinks, cursing his bad luck.
He turns slowly, favouring his right forepaw as he does so, to look more closely at those he interrupted, his eyes meeting Einemauge's, a challenge emanating from his battlescarred body as he raises his tail, glaring at the one who would insult him.

"Excuse me for asking, but how did you interrupt us?" the other asks, and his tail drops an inch or two as he turns his head to appraise her, one paw still held off the ground.
"She's blind? How did she live to that age? Only the Vulfen were able to do that in the Otonami..." he muses.
"My apologies, Gran-Drappa, I was not paying attention and walked between you." he says, his voice low and smooth, plainly apologetic, but it his voice hardens into a cold blade of scorn as he turns his gaze back to Einemauge,
"I'd have carried on and been out of your lives, but unfortunately, someone here has nothing better to do than insult an injured Kerl."

Einemauge looked down his nose at Graal and sneered, his hot temper getting the better of him yet again. "Pardon me my friend. I would love nothing more than for you to be gone and out of my life. Unfortunately for the both of us, here you sit, speaking to me in quite frankly a very unfriendly manner."

The voice seems to come from all around the three of them, but no-one else can be seen.[/glow]

Once again, Eichi was confused. Why was Dead Eye angry, he just walked between them. But to a blind wolf, she supposed, visually rude things didn't affect her. She listened quietly to their verbal spar before another voice came. "It is hardly surprising, Einemauge, given your appalling level of hostility and disrespect, that he has taken such a tone with you." This voice was strange. It sounded as if it was everywhere. Eichi couldn't quite place it...And that damned wind kept messing with her senses. At least she knew where two of the three wolves were. She sighed irritably and took up a defensive position. "Who are you and where are you."

Graal opens his mouth to launch a retort back at the old male, but seemingly somebody else chose to speak for him.

Graal can't help but smile, even as the fur rises on his back and neck.
"Who are you and where are you." the other wolf demands, and he can't help but agree with her,
"Show yourself so I can thank you face to face, spech-Dragga. It is not often I meet a Vulf so skilled as to confuse three Gran-Vulfs concerning vosh location."
