[glow=navy,2,300]"I drove him from the region." Vyrn said bluntly, still not meeting her gaze."I would have killed him, but he managed to escape. Before you ask why," He added, finally turning to look her in the eye. "It was for your safety, and the safety of everyone in the region."[/glow]

"He saved me, what--what was there for you to save me and the region from?" Snow's eye got glossy as tears welled up. Not wanting Vryn to see her cry, she got up and walked outside of the hollow and sat down on the branch looking at the storm that swarmed around them.

[glow=navy,2,300]"Shadow is a killer, Snow. He gets close to his target, as close as possible, then slowly whittles away at their sanity before torturing them to death. Vyrn said softly, stepping out to sit next to her, ignoring the rain that drenched his coat.[/glow]

Her eyes wide, Snow replied, "He's a killer." Snow shuttered at the thought of Shadow holding her down then delivering the killing blow with a devilish grin on his face. Looking at Vryn, Snow said, "But, I thought he loved me?"

[glow=navy,2,300]Vyrn shook his head.
"There is no way to know what his emotions towards you were, and I was not willing to take the risk. However, it is irrelivant, because he has been sighted in the Fire Wells, and I fear he may intend to hunt you.[/glow]

Snow's heart skipped a beat when Vryn said that Shadow has been sighted in the Fire Wells, and the fact that Vryn he may hunt her down didn't make her feel any better. With a sigh, Snow asked, " Are you gonna help me." Without waiting for a reply, Snow stood up and took a few steps back and shook her fur dry then headed back into the hollow, brushing against Vryn's back as she did. In the hollow, Snow fixed her leaf bed, then poked her head out of the hollow and asked, with a grin, "You coming back in, or are you gonna sit out in the rain all night?"

((I'm gonna have Snow be pregnant with Vryn's pups when I post either a new thread or when I jump in on others, I hope you don't mind your wolf Vryn being the dad. ))

[glow=navy,2,300]Vyrn nodded as he stepped into the hollow, shaking himself dry before he's inside.
"I intend to do everything in my power to protect you, Snow, regardless of the cost."[/glow]

Snow went up to Vryn and brushed her cheek to his and said, "Thank you Vryn, I don't know what I would do without you." With that, Snow laid down in her nest and barked, "I'm gonna get some sleep, wake me when the storm passes." Closing her eyes Snow drifted to sleep.

[glow=navy,2,300]Vyrn settled down next to her, going to sleep the same way he had for most of his life; with one eye open.[/glow]

Asleep, Snow dreamed that she was in a snowy field. She heard a menacing growl behind her, Snow turned her head to see who it came from, but saw no one. It came again to her right then her left, now behind her again. She screamed at the top of her lungs, "Whose out there! Show yourself!" The Growls kept on coming all around her, and were joined by bright blue eyes staring at her from all directions. " Shadow! Shadow, is that you?! Is what Vryn say true? Show yourself Shad--" Snow was cut off as something collided into her left side then her right. The shoves where joined by nips, Snow tried to run but couldn't get away. The last words to the wolves she had killed echoed in her head. Snow cried out, "VRYN!! Help Me!!!" She then curled up into a ball as the nips turned to painful bites. In the real world, Snow curled into a ball, wounds appearing as it happened in her nightmare.

[glow=navy,2,300]Vyrn could see him, sitting just outside of range of his black-fire, and knew he knew it. Shadow's ice-blue, pupil-less irises seemed to mock him as he sent another wave of dark magic at Snow, to intensify her nightmare.[/glow]
[glow=darkred,2,300]"Should've killed me when you had the chance, lover-boy. A shame her sanity is so fragile. She won't last as long as the others."[/glow]
[glow=navy,2,300]Shadow vanished before Vyrn could do or say anything in reply, provoking a snarl of rage from the black wolf, although he didn't have time for anything else. Not with the condition Snow was in.
The hollow grew pitch black as his healing powers took effect, closing the wounds she already had, and limiting the extent of forming injuries. Then the magic flowing from him changed subtly as he called on a power that would quell the poison that was Shadow's spell. Snow would be blind for a few hours when she awoke, but it was better than the alternative. The nightmares wouln't stop untill then, either, so he reached down to nudge her awake once the spell was set and working.[/glow]

Snow awoke at the nudge and the sound of Shadow's voice in the distance. Snow looked around but saw nothing, "Am--Am I dead?" Snow asked herself, her heart rate accelerating at the thought of dying before she lived, but the smell of Vryn was strong and she could hear the storm raging on outside."Vryn, he was here wasn't he?" Snow asked, her voice shaky."

[glow=navy,2,300]"He's gone now. You are safe." Vyrn murmured to her, nuzzling her comfortingly. "Your sight will return in a few hours, once the Purest Night has driven Shadow's power from your mind."[/glow]

"Shall we wait or go after him, I can still fight." Snow's muscles tensed as she said this, and without waiting for his reply Snow bolted towards the exit of the hollow but instead of exiting and flying after Shadow with ease she hit the wall of the hollow. Snow recoiled backwards with a whimper, "Ok, I'll wait, you can go on ahead. No need for for you to wait, I'll catch up with you sooner or later."

[glow=navy,2,300]"There is no point. He has the same ability to shadow walk that I have, and he used it to escape. Even if he had not, I would never leave you in this condition."[/glow]
