Appearance: Shadow stands roughly 3'10” at the shoulder, with grey, pupil-less eyes, but other than that he doesn't have a fixed description, since he can change his coloration and markings at will.
Personality: Shadow is cruel, taking joy in making others suffer. He will often stalk a victim for weeks, using his Darkest Fears spell to slowly whittle away at their sanity before finally attacking them, making their death as long and painful as possible.

-Black Gate: This allows Shadow to, at will, warp anywhere there is an area of darkness at least half his size (for example, the shadow of another wolf), although he cannot take others with him. This ability makes him exceedingly dangerous to fight at night, although a bright light source can hamper him somewhat by limiting where he can warp.
-Darkest Fears: An audio/visual illusory spell, Darkest Fears causes others to see vivid halucinations of whatever they fear most. These illusions can't actually cause any physical harm, although their psychological effect can be devastating.
-Dark Mists: Calls forth a dense black fog that manifests in a five-foot diameter orb around Shadow over the course of two minutes, and then expands outward at a rate of five feet per minute, with a maximum diameter of fifty feet. The mist blocks all light and obscures the vision of those within it, preventing them from seeing beyond three feet and, more significantly, allowing Shadow to make use of his Black Gate ability. Once created, the Dark Mists are subject to the same laws of weather as normal fog, meaning they can be dispersed by a stiff breeze.
-Regenerative Darkness: A strong healing spell that temporarily negates all light within ten feet. This only lasts while the spell is in effect (up to a minute, depending on the severity of the wounds), but it can be very disconcerting to anyone in the area not expecting it.
-Black Fire: Shadow can breath a torrent of black fire in a ray up to forty feet long. While the ray does not radiate any heat, any living tissue that is struck by the flames is burned as if by actual fire. The flames also cut through protection spells of any element not directly opposed by either fire or shadow. Because of the effort involved, Shadow can only use Black Fire in short, ten-second bursts before having to wait two minutes for the ability to recharge itself.
-Concealing Shadows: This ability allows Shadow to hide himself from notice, much like an invisibility spell. Shadow can only use this spell on himself, and it does not mask any sound or tracks he may make, but it renders him invisible to even those who can see through illusions.
-Limited Shift: Shadow can change his coloration and markings at will, although his overall bodyshape remains the same, as do his eyes. The eyes usually give him away at close range, but by then it is usually too late.

-Long Runner: Shadow can run for hours on end without stopping to rest. He can sustain this for up to two days if he properly paces himself, although after that he must rest for several hours before he can continue.
-Viper's Strike: Shadow's attacks are extremely fast and sudden, making them very hard to evade, but are not particularaly strong.
-Hidden Menace: Even without his Dark magic, Shadow in incredibly adept at staying unnoticed, although he needs at least tall grass to do so. Often he uses this skill to get close to potential victems, stalking them for weeks before making any sort of move.
-Free-Running: Shadow is unhindered by broken, rubble-strewn terrain, and uses it to great effect when trying to keep the upper hand in a fight. The more boulders and rubble there is, the easier he can out-manuver and out-flank his opponent. Conversely, he is at a severe disadvantage when fighting in open areas, and avoids venturing out into such places whenever possible.
-Terror of the Night: Shadow's vision is sensitive enough to alow him to see clearly in total darkness, but it also makes him more vulnerable to spells that use light to affect vision, and it can make it difficult for him to see in brightly lit areas.
