New esun

Chiyu peered cautiously from behind Alanoth. Pupil? She eyed her new mentor curiously, her new title as "his pupil" maybe not quite what she had in mind. This new wolf, Mal, acted nice enough, almost puppy-like with his enthusiasm. But what was a message runner doing all the way up here in the mountains?

"Umm....excuse me? If you're a kai, then who in the world would need a message all the way up here?" Chiyu asked quietly, still keeping low behind Alanoth.

[Niphanos]

Maelathorta looked at the timid wolf behind the male. "Well, I didn't say I had any messages. I just like coming up here for the crisp air." He smiled at her and said, "You'd be suprised, though. I've met some strange wolves up here, most of them sagely." He lifted his paw and made a small ball of light come out of the rod about his neck, and began making it spin about, changing colors. Following it with his eyes, he stated " I don't know many people with light magic, but it's really pretty useful. I mostly use it for fun, though." He looked back down at them as the ball shrank and vanished. "So! You want to get to Shinkou? You'd better get moving, since we aren't going anywhere just sitting around talking. I'd love to take you there, if you don't mind." With this he wagged his tail and pulled another ball of light from the rod, this time a green one.

Alanoth nodded, it would be better for this kai to take them than for them to guess their whole way there.

"Alright, if you don't mind, we'd be honored to have you guide to the Shinkou."

Chiyu liked the snow and the bitter mountain air, but she also knew it was time to head for home. Sure, she had come up here on her own from the heart of the Shinkou territory, but there was no way she would be able to remember how to get back. Besides, this Mal guy seemed pretty safe enough, so she didn't see any harm in going with him. The sooner they all got back, the soon she could start her official training as an esun.

Making the green ball of light dance excitedly around the timid wolf, Maelathorta says "Well, let's get going!" Constantly playing with some kind of light, he amuses himself, and more importantly, he entertains his new companions. "So, you said Chiyu is your pupil. What are you teaching?" Maelathorta asks Alanoth after a bit of walking.

((Remember, I write from my character's point of view, you don't have to be companions or even entertained, lol))

As they traveled, Alanoth responded to the wolf shortly before speaking to Chiyu.

"I'm teaching her to be an esun."

He then turned to Chiyu and whispered, "I hope you don't mind that I called you my pupil. I didn't want to let him think anything other than what was the truth."

When Alanoth spoke to her, Chiyu immediately straightened up. Of course she had to look like a good little pupil and admire all truth as it came...whether she even knew it to be truth or not. "I don't mind. It is the truth that I'm learning, and I like to be what I am." She hoped it sounded more profound to Alanoth than it did in her own ears. She wanted to do, to learn, whatever it took to be the most gifted and skilled esun yet to be seen.

Looking back towards Chiyu after Alanoth talked to her, Mal gave her a shy little smile. He then looked forward and kept walking. Then he sticks bright blue balls of light to his feet, which then form to the shape of his paws, so he has glowing booties. He starts prancing about, having the light drop little shreds of itself when he jumps, leaving a little glowing trail of footprints. After a few seconds they fade, and this makes Maelathorta frown in thought. The light on his back paws disappears in a puff, and he starts pawing at the ground with his front paws. Being some ways ahead of the other two, he doesn't worry much about the fact that he stopped.

He keeps pawing and pawing until suddenly one of the channels of energy he is using makes the light scraps flash odd colors. Delighted, he keeps working with that channel of energy until the others catch up. He then looks up quickly and the lights, scraps and all, dissipate. "Slowpokes..." he says playfully, accompanied by a little smile.

Small dainty paws pounded silently over the soft earth. The fae had been traveling in her new pack's territory, as much as she would enjoy the comfort at staying at one of the dens, she had to seek out the land in case anything bad were to happen. She had to memorize the entire landscape, and with that she had come across three wolves. She turned her head, thinking if she should introduce herself to these individuals. She made up her mind, they didn't seem threatening, but she kept caution. She wandered over to where they were, eying the biggest of them all In case they were actually violent. "Hello, I'm Ligia, might I ask what are you doing in these lands?" She questioned them, still having a good posture to flee if they wanted to fight. Although she didn't know if any of them were in the pack, she hadn't found time to introduce herself properly to the new family. It might have been because she was scared that she wanted to flee, or because it would be a 3vs1 fight, that wouldn't be so fair, now would it?

Still in a playful position, Maelathorta quickly looks up at the newcomer curiously as she spoke. Another wolf? What could she be doing here...? She smells like Shinkou, I think. It was hard to tell, as the smell was fairly faint. He sniffed in her direction. Yes, definitely Shinkou, but probably new... "Heya!" he responds, with a funny grin on his face, "I'm Mal, and I'm taking these two to your pack." He looked back at them with a bemused smile while saying, "I think I'll let them introduce themselves..."
