Ryleigh was new to the pack lands and decided to explore. She made her way slowly through the forest, somewhere she always felt safe no matter what trees were around her. Trees were where Ryleigh could usually be found. Ry padded softly across the ground, hearing the crunch of the leaves under her pads. She didn't really have anywhere particular in mind, just letting fate take her where it may. She could hear some of the smaller animals in the forest bustling about. The squirrels were collecting acorns for the winter that would be arriving in a few months and some others like the foxes were on the prowl for their next meal. Ryleigh loved the sounds of the forest and already was starting to feel at home in this one. When she has walked for some time she found herself a rock.
Ryleigh decided to climb up onto the rock and take a short rest. It was a beautiful day out, why not sit and enjoy it. She curled up on the large rock, feeling the smooth surface under her soft fur. Ry stretched her paws out in front of her, hearing her claws drag along the hard service. She felt the wind wrap around her for comfort as she lay on the rock. She closed her eyes and listened to the sounds of the forest around her. Ryleigh took a deep breath, holding the fresh air in her lungs before slowly letting it out. Ryleigh felt content at that moment to just lay quietly in the forest.

Demin was not new to the packlands, and yet was at the same time. They looked familiar to him, but alien all at once. The arctic wolf hadn't sent foot in Shinkou territory in two years, having been holed up in the frozen lands of Yokusei after a virulent disease swept through Shinkou and Akeru alike and turned once-loyal pack members into slavering, cannibalistic monsters. He still expected to be jumped, expected his vision to be filled with eery red eyes and gnashing teeth seeking his jugular, yet he knew that those times were over and done with. The Gamma was sitting on his haunches, merely taking in the scenery, his icy blue eyes focusing on no one thing for too long. His breath was steady, small white plumes of frozen air escaping his muzzle with each breath. He was home.
The Gamma scented the wind, picking up on something that stood out, not part of the earthy scents of the forest, but another wolf. Even though he hadn't seen another wolf in two years, and wasn't exactly happy about the thought of ending that streak, he felt it might do some good to have some sort of social contact with another living thing that wasn't prey. Setting his mind to actually talking to someone, he broke into a trot, traveling to where he detected the scent originating from. Minutes passed and he continued his trek until his goal came into view. A rather oddly colored she-wolf resting on a rock in the middle of Kohai. Instinctively, his black-backed ears shot forward and black tipped tail rose to let others know his rank in the pack. He forced himself to relax a bit, his tail drooping back to a relaxed position.
"You must be a new addition to the pack. Probably something I should tell you about that rock..."

OoC: I hope you guys don't mind me joining DX if so I'll just delete... but I just saw what Demin said and it sparked a funny idea since I haven't roleplayed with this guy in a while lol xP
iC:
Just as Demin would finish speaking the words, the rock on which Ryleigh sat would begin to move, rather clumsily, the sound of rocks rubbing together coming to both wolves' ears. It would tilt one way then the other and slowly rise, seeming to gain shapes she might not have noticed when she first leaped upon it, such as limbs, a head, and a tail. It would move into a stretching position and the face would open its mouth to yawn before opening slits that definitely would have seemed invisible before. His eyes were like orbs within his sockets, blue and glowing.
It wasn't the first time a wolf had hopped upon him, thinking he was just some rock lying around, and decided to use him for a pillow. Perhaps it was true to say he had grown somewhat used to it. He couldn't really feel much physically anyway so it didn't really bother him. However, it often bothered others, he noticed. In any case, he turned his head to look at the other wolves near him, and a smile of sorts would come to his rock lips.
A deep voice rumbled from those lips. "Oh, hello, Demin. It's been a while, hasn't it?" He dipped his head slightly in respect, though Demin should know that Varick was the last creature to worry about. "I suppose I might wonder your recent whereabouts, though of course I wouldn't intrude. I'm glad you're back." It was his way of welcome. His focus then seemed to turn toward the she-wolf. "Forgive me if my body mislead you. It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Varick." He would dip his head toward her also though this time as a formality. With that, he moved again, turning his body to face them entirely.

Ryleigh had been laying on the rock quietly when a scent she didn't recognize pasted her nose. She picked her head up and turned it in the direction of the scent. Ry watched as a male wolf made his way into her view. She noticed his stance and then watched as his tail slowly fell back to its place. Ryleigh cocked her head to the side slightly and smiled at the new male. She wanted to appear friendly and open. She blushed when he picked out that she was new and she ducked her head slightly. Ry's ears perked up when she heard him mention something about the rock she was laying on. She opened her mouth to respond but started to move as she did.
Ryleigh looked around to see what was happened. She noticed that she was moving but nothing else was. She shook her head slightly in confusion before she realized it was the rock she was laying on that was moving. Must be what he was talking about. She tried to hold on as best as she could as the rock moved. She then heard it address the other wolf. Demin, that's his name. She looked over at him as the rock spoke and jumped slightly when he then addressed her. Ryleigh blushed deeply and let her ears fall back on her head out of embarassment. She hadn't mean to lay on someone. "It's nice to meet you Varick. I'm terribly sorry for laying on you. If i had known i wouldn't of been so rude. My name is Ryleigh." She smiled down at him as best she could, her tail wagging happily behind her. She then looked up at the other male. "It's nice to meet you as well." She then hopped down off of Varick and sat on the ground in front of him. "If i may ask, what are you? I have never seen anything like you before." Ry was excited to have met such friendly members on her journey out.
