A small black wolf crouched, glancing around. The cool night air seemed to lift his wings, begging him to fly. He pulled his wings closer to his lean body and shuddered slightly, his winter coat having not come in yet. Phantom, for that was his name, laid down, trying to keep from getting lifted into the air by the growing winds. He tilted his head sharply to the left, smiling as he heard the POP of his neck. He then tilted to the right, hearing a louder pop than the other side. "Hello?" He shouted, hoping no one would answer. For if anyone did, his night of leisure would be over. His over sized pup paws stretched out, tense. His ears perked up, waiting to hear if anyone would reply

Midnight chuckled from the tree where she sat behind the pup. "You shouldn't cry out like that. Most big hunters can tell a pup voice from an adults." she jumped down behind him and walked in from of him, her eyes on him all the time. She studied him. They weren't that different. She sat, thinking that more than likely he would raise the alarm of a loner on pack land.

Phantom sat up quickly in start, "Who...Who are you?" He asked, his ears flatting themselves against his head in fright. Then thinking of what he had been told, he tried to force a snarl, "This...This is not your land." He said, barely louder than a whisper, "And if...you don't leave, I will have to...make you leave." He hoped that this strange wolf would not hear the fear in his voice

Midnight suddenly became serious. "Go ahead. Call one of your packmates, and I'll show you why I have never lost a fight. If you call more, I'll know, and I will leave. I have never lost a fair fight; there is no sense provoking one that cannot be won."
((you can just make up a packmate to come if you want))

Phantom took a step back, hitting a tree "What if I don't call a packmate?" He asked, "What if I want to fight you myself?" He pawed at the ground, worried. What if she lunged at him or...or worse. "Besides, even if I called someone...no one would listen" He laid down, trying to show he was not a threat. "Not even the other pups listen..." He closed his eyes and waited, hoping she was not like the last pair of loners he met

Midnight also sat. "I will not hurt you. Like I said, no need to enter a fight when there is a sure winner." she chuckled. "And I would surly win that fight." He was scared, and she knew it. "If you really want me off your land, I will leave, in a little. There are some things I want to do first...."

He glanced up at her, "Like what?" He asked softly. "What do you want to do in my pack's land?" Oh, how he wished he could read minds. It would be so much easyer than crouching at every wolf he met. He sat up. Now that he knew she would not attack him just yet, he could relax slightly. "How do you stay healthy on your own, without a pack?"

Midnight looked at Him long and hard. Hardy, strong, a fast runner....he would be fine. "If you really want to know, I can show you. Come with me, and I'll show you things you will never see as a pack wolf. I will introduce you to other loners, my friends. You'll see it's not so hard to survive without a pack." If he did decide to go, she would start flying, skimming the ground the gauge how fast he was. If not, she would snort and say "Your loss." She thought height be scared of getting in trouble. So she told him: "You know, you have an alibi. A loner stole food and threatened to kill you, or you were just out wandering. I prefer the latter, as I do have friends inside your little pack."

He thought for a moment. This was a chance to find out how his parents lived. But at the same time, how did he know she was just not luring him to hurt him or worse. He swallowed, thinking. He stood up tall and still did not meet her shoulders, "Fine." He took a deep breath, this will be a good way to prove that he was not a weak pup and he could keep with the rest of them.

"Excellent," she responded, and took off. She knew he could keep up, and first on the agenda was to take him to a meadow, secret and beautiful. Then, hopefully on the way to a river, she would run into someone she knew. Looking back, she scanned behind her for any wolves from his precious pack.
((if you want to you can have one of the other pups or someone you know in the pack show))
