Sol-Leks trotted through the territory. She had yet to meet the wolves in this new pack and figured she would learn the territory first. 'If I'm going to be hunting in this territory, I should learn it's boundaries and prey.' she said to herself. She stopped to check a marking and carried on. She came to an opening from the trees and decided that this was a good place to stretch her wings. With a few beats she had taken off, staying about 10 feet from the ground. 'Wow! What a view!' she thought, as she looked all around her.
She spotted a moose and silently landed not far from it. She checked the wind direction and satisfied that she was down wind from the moose, she begun to stalk it. She followed from a distance watching the adolescent animal, think how nice it would be to eat. It had been days sense she had eaten and felt famished. She dipped down behind a bush as the moose turned to check behind it's self. Suddenly the moose ran off and disappointed, Sol-Leks came out of hiding. 'Oh, well. I'll just find something else.' she thought. She turned in another direction and put her nose to the wind. She caught the scent of deer and went to find it. It didn't take long to find the deer and it was already distracted by a ground squirrel. Sol-Leks was able to sneak to within a easy take down distance.
She waited for her opportune moment and sprang. The deer took off but was not fast enough to get away. Sol-Leks sprang on top of the deers back and heard a very familiar sound. Cracking. The sound of the deer's leg breaking under both their weights. As the deer fell Sol-Leks jumped clear and in a couple of steps she was at it's throat. She sank her fangs into it's life vein and held on until the deer stopped struggling. She did not eat right away as it was customary from where she came from to take a moment and allow the animal's soul to make it's way out of the body and to also thank the animal for allowing it's life to be taken to feed another. When she was ready she gorged herself. Ooh, did it feel good to eat. The meat tasted a lot sweeter here, then from where she was from and she like it. I could get used to this. she thought as she raised her head to check her surroundings.
When she had finished eating there wasn't much left to the deer. it hadn't been that big to start with. She cleaned her muzzle and front paws before looking for water. She was soon off and trotting through the grass, looking for a stream or anything actually that held water. She finally came to a stream, it had felt like it took all day to find it though. She came to the waters edge and dipped her muzzle down to the cool refreshing water. She raised her head as she finished and let the water drip off her chin for a moment before shaking her head. She decided to clean her fur while she was here and walked into the water up to her chest. She started to wonder if he would meet anyone while she was here. She retreated back towards the shore and when she was in shallow enough water she laid down, letting the refreshing coolness of the water wash over her. It felt so good, she closed her eyes and started to relax.

Chihiro was bored. There was no one that did not belong on the borders of Shinkou. No one to interrogate. Chihiro might as well train, but she was thirsty, so she followed the sound of the gurgling water and dropped her head down to drink. After taking in huge gulps of water, Chihiro lifted her head to see the wolf. She stayed still, sniffing the scents from the wolf. So it turned out this wolf was also from Shinkou. Chihiro bowed her head in greetings then began to look in the water for some fish. Alas, when she dived into the water, she floated back up. "Maybe I should try catch birds," she joked to herself. It did seem reasonable, as her element was air, so she should use it to her advantage and catch things in the air. Yet, Chihiro could not fly that high unless she sneezed again. "Not a chance."

Sol-Leks took notice of the other she and nodded back. Rising she stretched her wings and stepping onto the shore, feeling particularly pleasant today she introduced herself to the she "I am Sol-Leks." She then shook her fur to dry it out. "You are the first wolf I have met since arriving here a few days ago. It is such a vast, beautiful territory." she continued, hoping the female was in a pleasant mood as well. Scratching her ear, she let out a moan of pleasure. "Are you a hunter as well?" Sol-Leks asked now done scratching and curiosity taking over now as she approached closer to the other wolf.

Chihiro looked at the wolf whose name was Sol-Leks. "I am Chihiro. I agree with you, Shinkou is a beautiful place." Chihiro went back to diving for fish but with no such luck. She rose to her Sol-Leks ask her if she was a hunter. Chihiro shook her head. "No, I am a scout." Chihiro saw the wolf advance towards her. She backed away, teeth bared. She did not trust this wolf yet, and the fact she was in a bad mood. Her hackles stood up as she growled, stepping further into the river. Chihiro used Air Blow, aiming to push Sol-Leks away from her a few metres.

"Whoa!" Sol-Leks yelled as she put her wings up to deflect what ever it was Chihiro just did. Her hackles rose out of instinct and she backed off on her own accord, snarling back at Chihiro, "I was just being friendly, there is no need to get angry." Trying to calm herself down as she folded her wings back and lowered her hackles. "I am trying to meet some wolves in the area, if this is how the wolves are..." she paused, "I think I made the wrong choice." she stated, watching Chihiro try to fish. She sat down and pruned her feathers again. She looked around and finding a rock sitting up above the rest and in the sun as well. She turned and jumped up on the rock and laid down, quite relaxed now and begun to clean her paws. Her blue markings almost seemed to glow when she was relaxed and she was enjoying laying on the rock as she could see for a great distance from up here. She looked down at Chihiro "How long have you been here?" she asked, not caring if the she answered her or not.

As soon as Sol-Leks jumped onto the highest rock did Chihiro lower her hackles. She watched as Sol-Leks licked her paws. Chihiro dived down again, pushing hard with her legs. She still floated up. She tried to get rid of all the air in her lungs and dived once more. Chihiro seemed to sink like a stone, but she longed for air. After a push from her legs on the river-bed did she get the air she was desperate for. Chihiro took in a huge breath, lungs filled to their capacity. She heard Sol-Leks ask her how long she had been here. "22 years from the moment I was born. You must be new, judging by the fact the scent of Shinkou has not set in yet." She turned to face the water, eyeing it for any fish that might be lurking in it.

"22 years?!" Sol-Leks exclaimed, not meaning to shout it but taken by surprise. She was only 2 and had never seen a wolf of that age. Suddenly her attention was else where as she had spotted the moose from earlier. Her mouth started watering, even though she had already eaten. She jumped down, she hit the edge of the water creating a huge splash. "Sorry, Chihiro." she said as she stepped onto the shore. She stopped for a brief moment "Would you like to come hunting? There is a moose just over there..." she pointed with her wing, "Not too far away." She wasn't going to wait for long for the answer and she swiftly shifted her huge frame into a trot and stopped about 50 feet later to see if she was coming.

Chihiro smirked at Sol-Leks reaction. It was not uncommon for Youroi to live over 40. She looked over where Sol-Leks had pointed with her wings. Chihiro decided that there was no point in waiting for any fish that were not going to come. She followed Sol-Leks, hungry for meat. She could not wait to sink her teeth into the soft, sweet meat of a moose. Chihiro wondered if she could manage it. After all, Sol-Leks was a Sakou and she was a Reku, meaning she was not trained in the way of hunting. Still Chihiro thought she might as well try.

Before heading out Sol-Leks checked the wind direction and turned, trotting off towards the animal. As she got closer she picked up a long stride-ed lope. She thought about her plan of action, as she had learned earlier that Chihiro was not a hunter. "How do you feel about jumping up on the moose's back?" She asked, "You might get thrown around a little." she continued.

Chihiro nodded and crouched down low. She crept towards the moose, ears flattened. Chihiro looked at Sol-Leks, waiting for her command. After all, she was the master and Chihiro was an amateur. When Sol-Leks would give the go-ahead, Chihiro would rush ahead and jump onto the moose's back, teeth sinking into its flesh to get a grip and try not to fall off. Back in the preset, Chihiro was thinking about the moose and how the moose would react. Would it buck around, trying to knock off the wolves. Or, would it fall and call out, but otherwise go down quietly. Probably the former, she thought.

As soon as they were close enough to make the kill, Sol-Leks nodded to Chihiro to go. Sol-Leks went for the throat and jumped, making a good connection with her fangs. As she held on she kicked with her back legs, tearing the moose's flesh open and allowing it to weaken. The moose thrashed around, whipping Sol-Leks back and forth, loosening her grip. As her grip loosened she slid off the moose throat and hit the ground, hard. She got up quickly and rushed it's legs, biting down hard. She heard it, a slight cracking sound and with the next step the moose took it stumbled. Sol-Leks roared as she jumped back at it's throat, going now for the kill and intending to hang on this time. The moose stumbled on three good legs before finally falling down. She ripped into it's neck, tearing it's life vein and sitting back for a moment to do her customary ritual of thanking the animal for giving it's life for them to eat.

Chihiro clung on for dear life. The moose was bucking, trying to escape from the oncoming attackers. She bit down harder, barely holding on. The blood trickled down into her mouth, tasting sweet in her tounge. When Sol-Leks had finally brought down the beast, she loosed her grip and joined Sol-Leks in thanking the moose for food. After a few moments, Chihiro stood up and walked towards the moose. "You should eat first, after all, it is your kill." Chihiro sat next to the moose, waiting for Sol-Leks to make the first bite.

Sol-Leks nodded and proceeded to tear into the moose. The meat tasted sweet and satisfying. She tore a hole into it's midsection and pulled the liver out. She moved back a few feet and laid down with her trophy. When she was done eating the liver she looked over at Chihiro "You did very well. We made a pretty good team, if I can say so myself." she said, "Did you enjoy the ride?" she asked, tail wagging.

Chihiro ripped some meat from the shoulders and went to lie down. She looked up at Sol-Leks and grinned. "Best ride ever!" She proceeded to eat the meat. When that had disappeared, Chihiro ate more until her stomach was content. Her maw was stained red against her blue fur. Chihiro lay down, allowing time for her to digest the moose. In roughly half an hour, Chihiro would begin to train, but right now, she was on her back, eyes closed, enjoying how the Sun warmed up her fur, making her feel all warm and bubbley inside.

Sol-Leks got up and shook, losing a few feathers. She sat back down and cleaned herself up. She loked at what was left and looked over at Chihiro "Where is the common gathering place?" she asked. "I would like to bring the rest to the others."
