The rolling fields gave way to a turbulent wind, but no matter how hard Seranthia came upon swift wings in all Her unyielding glory, the ground would not rip under Her terrible screams. The sky churned in dark wisps, illuminated by bright, loud, startling bursts of forked lightning.
And then the scene changed within Lacrimosa's mind--great mountains shifted and crumbled, followed by a baritone bellow that even thunder would envy. It was quite a shock to see that the scene had changed again, this time in such incredible brightness that the Empress almost felt her eyes water. There was fire everywhere, burning everything, but it was battling! It threw a mighty fit against the winds of Seranthia, but Fillitena, the Great Mistress of Fire, would not heed the Bird Goddess, and so the two savagely fell upon each other. The ground continued to split and the mountains growled unremittingly, until the water from the sky came in great, heaping drops, until all Things were quenched and tamed. The earth began to flood.
That was when she saw it. Truly there was nothing to her knowledge that she could liken this object to. It was perfectly round, but it certainly had depth, even though Lacrimosa had no real concept or understanding of depth like Men do. The object was perfectly deep-blue all around it and backdropped by what looked like thousands of stars. At least, they looked like the very stars she always saw in her Empire, when the weather was rarely favorable. It was incredibly, mind-bendingly massive. There was something like a mixture of awe and fear grappling at every inch of her being. There was no way this could be real.
And then the Empress woke up with a snap, her long ears at full attention as if a distant noise roused her. She was heaving, and felt cold sweat beneath her silky ebony fur. Vertical-pupilled cat-like eyes blinked several times so that she could better view the blurry world surrounding her.
It was a dream. That much was obvious. But the dream felt so real. Taking the time to get her bearings after a nasty bout of sleepless days, she stretched before circling the patch of flowery moss and plopping lazily on it. The scales on her neck and belly clinked and rattled some as she moved, sometimes emitting a luxurious sheen of strange blues. Then she took the time to think. Was she really seeing the Elements at war with eachother? That's what it seemed like. Never did she have a dream so ruthlessly lucid before. It was vastly unsettling.
She watched the watery sun tell her hello as he ascended.

Twigs snapped as Lyra stumbled in the darkness, trying to find light. She did not remember how she got into this mess but she knew one thing- she had to get out. And so it carried on. A pattern emerged. Lyra snaps a twig and scrunches her face up. Lyra steps on a thorn and she cries out in pain. Lyra does something unexpected and faces the consequence. On and on this pattern went on until she saw the first ray of light shoot across the sky. She paused, realising that it was tomorrow then corrected herself as it was today. On instinct, Lyra headed towards the light. One moment she was upright, the next, she was lying with her face on the ground. All she could remember was pain. After all, falling flat on your face is no painless feat. Lyra lay there, collapsed on the ground. After several moments, she got up slowly, swaying on her feet. Her eyes adjusted to the light when she spotted another Druin. Lyra was about to step forward and greet the Druin when she froze. This was no ordinary Druin. This was the Empress. As quick as she could, Lyra bowed down, her nose touching the ground. She awaited the Empress's permission to rise.

It truly was the early morning, the sun just now rising above the horizon. It was also true that the Giaku wolves often got to witness the sunrise first above many others across neighboring lands simply because of the landscape. It was stunning, to say the least as the sky made its various changes. Some might even think it a shame for the sky to settle for blue when it had so many other options. But alas! This was hardly within anyone's control. It simply was a part of nature.
Mascamora had been up already for some time, pondering various things as she did quite often these days, though she had not exactly been expecting to come across her sister. The temptation faintly arose to play a prank, as they had done so often to each other in younger days. But those times were gone and she had no interest in upsetting her so early in the morning. As she neared, she also noted the other seemed somewhat uneasy, though it passed and she felt the small notion of curiosity within her chest. Before she could say anything, someone else stumbled upon the scene in a rather clumsy fashion, to say the least. She raised a slight brow, watching as the other bowed to the ground. Well good, at least the wolves knew when to be respectful, she thought to herself.
Ignoring Lyra, Mascamora approached Lacrimosa without further delay. "Morning, sister," she said softly once she reached Lacri's side. Her tall white form stood over Lacrimosa, though she soon brought herself to sit in the moss. She didn't bother saying 'good' because she wasn't sure if it was appropriate. "It is not often you sleep elsewhere than the tower dens." She paused, "Everything ok?" Despite her personal issues and struggles to prove herself better than Lacri, she loved her sister dearly and felt she could never bring herself to do the other harm - at least in a malicious way.

OOC: Sooorryyyy... I have no muse. But I'll try...
A faint whisper furled from her lips, as if it were smoke. "Dear sister, we have a guest. Do not ignore her... As for the matter you speak of, we shall discuss it at a more appropriate time..." She looked with urgent pale eyes to her sister's, and saw the concern there. A rush of affection and gratitude for her pale counterpart calmed her nerves. She turned to face the stranger.
"What business do you have with the Empress this morning?" She bade for the wolf to stand. "I'm afraid you found me at a somewhat unsettling time, but you may speak to me nonetheless."

Lyra slowly stood up. "M-me? I j-just fell u-upon the s-scene, y-your Empress." She was shaking so much that her legs gave way and she fell onto the ground once more. Her legs were spread in a split position making her look very daft indeed. Possibly pathetic. Lyra stood up shakily. "Perhaps I should just leave?" She turned around and began to head home. Home where her parents would yet again lecture her. Home where her siblings would mock her again. Home where Hell is.
Lyra stopped, then turned around. "May I ask you a question?" Lyra paused then began to speak once more, "Why does Shinkou and Akeru hate us? What did Giaku do that they hated? And why is there no way to explore outside of Giaku, unless you have wings?" Lyra tilted her head to one side, waitng an answer of either of the sisters.

Lacrimosa blinked and sucked in her lips, doing all she could to maintain composure and a straight face. The last thing the empress wanted was to appear rude to this poor sap, who inspite of her silly disposition, was granted Lacrimosa's compassion. No wolf had ever approached her in such a silly way!
"Something tells me you were burning to ask me this, otherwise why would you have come to me with knocking knees? Very well, a brave wolf deserves an answer." By the gods, she was not being rude. Her face appeared friendly enough and looked as if there was a smile in that battle-hardened face.
"Forgive me though, I don't feel like giving you long-whinded stories, so I'll give you the shorter version. The truth. The ones that called themselves Shinkou Ookami saw demons run amock in a beautiful world that turned nightmarish, but that was caused by demons who by all rights can have good or bad souls... but they were lead wrong and therefore bad spirits were borne from them, and that is what caused the land to decay. The Shinkou wolves saw it, and thinking that the demons were wholly responsible, attempted to drive them out but not without a fight. The fight itself is what made the land turn from bad to worse, but things eventually righted itself as Shinkou made themselves at home. We were driven here, to this once cold and desolate place, but I believe we've proven ourselves caring and worthy of the world by our lush and beautiful gardens that Tartarus, my grandfather, frequently tended and loved. Don't you love their sweet scent during the spring? Every year, the grass spreads, and someday Giaku shall be overrun by greens, as it should be."
The empress took a moment to groom her forepaw, and a good shake of her made. The blue horns on her head almost looked like they could glow as they caught the sun's light.
"As for your second question, umm... forgive me... but you do not know...? Oh, my dear..." She shook her head. "We have various exits out of our vast canyon for those who prefer to walk. It's no secret. But it's heavily guarded. All areas of Giaku are, under my orders. The great land-bridge to the west of here will take you across Hakugin sea, to the territory of Shiranui."

Mascamora had to admit that Lacrimosa certainly was a caring creature, in some ways. As for herself, she was perhaps more arrogant concerning her position. But it was certainly not the case that Lyra was showing lack of respect by any means. She supposed perhaps she had acted poorly in that reguard - but after all, her sister was the most important thing to her. Pushing that aside, she did feel somewhat of hurt pride that she had been scolded in a fashion. But that was all over with now as the attention was turned toward Lyra. Mascamora remained seated beside her sister, the two of them truly a stark contrast. She said nothing, only listened and observed. She wondered why it bothered her so much that Lyra only spoke to Lacrimosa, in such fear of her sister. 'It's not like it should be any different, Lacri is the Empress...' the albino princess silently thought to herself. But at the same time... she truly desired to be held in such a view. Her thoughts were running rampant and she focused, paying attention to the situation and discussion. Lacrimosa handled it well. She waited to see what Lyra's response would be.

When Lyra learnt that there were ways to leave Giaku, she could barely contain herself. A huge smile appeared on her face. When it registered that it was no secret, Lyra could feel anger boiling inside her. Her parents told her there were no ways to leave Giaku. They lied to her. Her excitement faded, replaced with fury. The smile faded from her face. Instead, a look of seriousness was on her face. "They never told me. They lied to me," she muttered under her breath. Lyra stared at the ground, her anger quite clear. They didn't tell her.
