Echostorm padded through the river. She was wary, she was in a pack territory, but she could always fly, and the river will hide her scent. "Fish!" She shut her mouth in fear of being heard. Oopsies.... She searched for the fish with the strongest energy. The fish would feed her more, and she would need all the food she could eat. She saw a plump salmon, with a good sized energy orb, especially for a fish. Her paw shot out, but she missed. "Curse you!" But she brightened when she saw another fish, with slightly smaller energy. It will do. This time, she shot out and caught it. Perfect... Now arn- Hey! What is that? "What is that?" A good distance away, was a giant glowing energy orb. Wow.... A distant bark awoke her from her awe. "Oops! Time to go!" She flew fast to the nearest trees. She perched there, waiting and watching, not the direction of the bark, but the orb.

If Tala had known that someone far below her had mistaken her starblooms* for an energy orb, she'd have fallen out of the sky laughing. Just for the fun of it, she set off three more in quick succession, and flew through their middles. Tala laughed from the sheer joys of life and flying, and then shouted "WOOHOO!" as she flew through another starbloom. Then, she heard a bark far below her. Naturally, Tala had to investigate. Who knows? Maybe it's a new friend, she thought. But as she flew in that direction, she saw something shiny on the ground and swooped to intercept that, at which point a squirrel ran across the nearby clearing and she veered to chase that, nearly grabbing it when her ear began to itch, so she sat down and itched it. Suddenly, she noticed an intriguing smell almost right above her head. Huh? Maybe that's what barked... she thought, distracted once more. Flying swiftly up to the top of the tree, Tala found herself face-to-face with a small grey wolfess, winged like herself and not much larger, with strange-looking fur and violet eyes. "Well, this is a surprise— a wolf with purple eyes! Sitting in a tree, no less, and as to why I couldn't guess. I am Tala the Breeze; mate and family do I lack. What's your name, Purple Eyes, and have you a pack?" Tala perched on the nearest branch, which was straight across from the she-wolf. Stretching, she draped herself across it in an obviously unthreatening pose as she waited for the other to answer, or at least respond to, her barrage of statements and questions.

Echostorm stared at the strange wolf. Multiple thoughts flashed through her head at what seemed like a million miles per second. Kill her, push her off the branch, give her fake name, threaten her... and more kept revolving. After a moments thought, she had her answer. "My name is Frostleaf. Of the north. Hello, Tala." She thought to ask of the orb, but she pushed the thought away. She needed to know this wolf first, then let her guide her. Echostorm turned back to her squirrel. She did not drop her jaws, that would be a disaster. Instead, she took small bites. the squirrel had run up the tree, where Echostorm easily caught it. "What is strange about my eyes? And nesting in a tree?" She asked innocently. she knew this wolf wasn't apart of the pack, she just hoped her urge to kill her wouldn't show.

"Oh, nothing really, nothing at all; it's just that most wolves this high in a tree soon fall. I was also wondering, Ms. Frostleaf-in-a-tree, if you wouldn't mind telling why you seem to want to kill me?" she asked, shrewdly. She knew she might be in trouble, and with this other wolfess in such good shape, Tala didn't think she'd last long at all in a fight. She stretched her legs and switched from her lazy position to an upright position, still looking restful, but certainly far easier to fly from. This wolf made her a tad bit nervous, and she didn't want to be in a bad position in case she had to get out of there quickly.

OOC- What took you so long? : )
Before Echostorm was even concious of doing so, her teeth were extended to their full length (7 in.) and dropped her jaaw (11 in.). Her claws were etended fully (curved and 8 in.). "What do you want?" Her eyes had were jet red. But as fast as possible, she sucked in her claws, teeth, retracted her jaw, and took on her innocent voice. "Of course I don't want to kill you." But she knew she was too late. So, she stopped controling herself, and pulled out her claws teeth and jaw. "Take me to teh biggest pack. NOW." Her voice held a certain note that said this is her final request. She spread open her wings, and her voice sounded like thunder and rage. "Take me to the biggest pack. If you don't." Her claw crawled toward the she-wolf, close to her paw. "Don't say no." Then Echostrom shook herself, and waited for the she-wolf to respond. If she was smart, she would lead her there. If she wasn't.... well, it won't be pretty.

(OoC: I plan to introduce a character I haven't roleplayed much with. Tala and Echostorm don't quite seem to click, and I'm the sort of person who will do anything to find somebody a friend. And I will keep trying. I'm stubborn.)
Alright, so she did have to get out of there quickly. Maybe. Probably. Mmmm, absolutely! And right away! she thought. It had been a long time since Tala had had to deal with someone who actually had malicious intent towards her, but owing to her penchant for hunting unusually large animals (solo), she still had her touch. "The nearest pack would be Voyani, though their scent I seem to lack; now if you will please excuse me, I'm leaving, and not coming back!" As she said this, she picked up two breezes, and used one to shoot her off into the sky, too far and fast for even the wolf's giant wings, and the other at the wolfess, hard enough to knock a normal wolf off, but knowing that the best it would do was surprise her. Definitely not coming back, she thought as she flew completely out of sight.
---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rævon
Far below, unbeknownst to the two overhead, a shadow slipped out from under a nearby fallen log. He looked around, gasped at the voices, and hid next to the log again. That doesn't sound like somewhere I should be, he thought. Then, he heard one voice command the other to take her to the nearest pack, and the other voice refuse. Suddenly, the owner of the second voice flew off, without completing her given task! Outrageous! He had to fix this. He quickly unfolded his wings and hurried up the tree trunk. "Excuse me, ma'am," he said, "but I believe I heard you say that you needed assistance? I am willing to assist you in any task you require me to undertake." He hoped she wouldn't kill him. He really didn't like fighting, not at all. But he didn't like dying, either, so in the trade off, he supposed he would have to if the need arose. He waited for her answer with a look of faint curiosity. She certainly didn't look like any breed he'd ever seen, but it was impolite to stare, so he didn't, looking around aimlessly. And waiting.
OoC: Gonna go jump off a cliff! I'm so sorry this took so long! And then to top it off, I'm going to be probably wifi-less for the next day or two. XP sorry!

"I do. I am Frostleaf. I need to get to largest pack. If you take me there, I will spare your life." Echostorm said plainly. "And I will win." she added quietly. To prove her point she used *Energy Drain* on a tree quite close to the wolf, and the tree crumpled and died. "Now lead me to biggest pack?" Echostorm still had her jaw dropped (11 in.) her teeth out (7 in.) and her claws curved and 8 in. Her eyes were still red. (ooc: I am stubborn too =))

What a long and dreadful journey. The excitement practically oozed from his pores... or not. He rather held a distasteful mood toward it all. Swoop! The big black, battered wings passed overhead of the Yama Creek, flying very laxly, and cocked inwards like a bird. His tail was long, and bushy, his ears sharp, and tipped black, burdened to be practically the night with the rest of his dark, cruel looking body.
It was a wolf alright, no doubt one of the winged breed. He hardly took note of the smells below him up until he got very close, to which he opened his bloody eyes and turned his head to peer down below. The snow was getting to him, and he admittedly missed the warmer volcanoes.
The time with that warring pack was fun and all yes, but it had died away shortly after their perilous victory. It left him rather uninterested in sticking around. But at least he had met some very sweet girls in the process. Given his age he definately exceeded seven years, and his wings were so battered and even showing some blood stains at their tips from worn out feathers suggested he was indeed... old. But he flew, and appeared as if he was healthier than one could imagine. A loner male indeed, seeing as no others were nearby him when he lowered in altitude, and peered beneath the pine trees in hopes of spotting the wolves down below. Either two or three he could not tell... but if they just looked up... they could see him.
His wingspan was short of dragonic, they were big, perhaps a decent 20 feet, while the rest of him sported a regular wolven body, his claws hanging down, and his head leaned outward, a malefic experession on his face. This brutal looking new arrival would have passed on... but he'd been flying so long it seemed a little chat with the sad locals would suffice.
Tiberius Norse peered ahead, searching for a place to land~

"This I can do, although I would be more inclined to do so if you were not threatening me so," Rævon stated, quickly sidestepping away from the withering tree. He did not like this wolf, but he had a job to do. Suddenly, he thought, Wait a minute! I do not have to perform this task if it does not fit my liking! I am in a new land, and I make my own way here. In this land, I may do what I choose, WHEN I choose. And I choose to not do this![/i] Decision made, he told Frostleaf, "After considering my options, I have resolved to change the direction of my path. My sincerest apologies, miss. I will be leaving you now," he told her. And then he flew the heck out of there, reveling in the freedom of choice.
OoC: I am really, really sorry! The last post was just kinda slapped together, and so I tried to put more effort into this one. I'll be better in the future... As for now, though, I'll introduce the next wolf (read: canidate) in my next post. Sorry again!
