Djyn squirmed on the ground, regetting opening her eyes to the bright light that shone on her from above. The light had brought a searing pain that passed through her flesh and imbed itself with barbed feelers into her brain.
Ok, breathe, breathe...[/color]Djyn told herself, pulling herself together as she drew her legs under her, and pushed up. She slowly opened her eyes, aware of the swirling lights which swam around as her paws stumbled along the ground.
Bits of green aligned around the bottom of her vision--grass. As her vision steadied, she realized her sorroundings where in the deep of the woods, trees thick with moss hanging around her. The dark seemed to steady her, and she streached her back out, rump in the air and legs pushed to the front.
Her ear twitched as something snapped deep in the forest, but she registered it as nothing, too far to be a threat, or too small. A rumble from her gut sent her reeling, she was hungry. Scenting the air, she found the smell of a rabbit's den somewhere along the stream, and she deviated from the flow to go find some food.
The den was nestled in the side of the hill, with an escape hatch at the top. Djyn dug out a rock embedded in the ground near the hole, and jammed it into the escape, making as little noise as possible, musn't altert the bunnies. She closed another hole the same way, rock, silence, before making her way to the entrance on the side of the hill. She dug with furious hunger, dirt clods spaying around her and the squeals of trapped rabbits triggering her saliva glands.
She came across the first dingy brown body and snapped at it, feeling the flow of blood along her muzzle, she paused and fed, though the small rabbit was only a snack. She dug more, and after her second rabbit she felt full, and let the clan of rabbits flee. My those creatures love to breed she thought, and trotted back to the stream. She lapped the water, and shuddered, feeling good for the first time in a while.
Her body shook with exhaustion, though she had just awaken from the black out. It hurt to think of where she'd come from, the smells on her fur didn't correlate with the forest around her. She rolled in damp moss, found along the tree bases she was trotting along. Better, but she still had the underlying oder of a different location.
She began up a small rise which devaited from the river, and lay at the top, crossing her front feet and tuccking her tail along her body. She dozed, ears twitching at the noises around her.
