Author's Note: I don't usually write poetry, but last night, I was dreading starting school again because a lot of people there loathe me, just for being a freak. So then this came to me...
Darkness~
Scarred by the Light and the World Outside I retreat into the Darkness to hide
And as I sit here I realise Not only do They Hate, They Despise
The World has turned against me it seems And is bent upon Shattering my Dreams
And yet... Perhaps there is a Friend or two Hiding in the Darkness too~
Another Author's Note: Yeah, I know the capitalisation is wierd. It just seemed to work better that way.

The capitalization reminds me of Emily [grrr]inson, who, even though she wore white pretty much every day for her adult life, was herself an outcast and never went farther than her own garden. In fact, your whole poem is vaguely reminiscent of [grrr]inson. Not that I'm saying you copied or anything, it's just that your poem reminds me of her stuff. -ahem- Anyway...
It's a good poem. Short and to the point, and yet has the impact of the message. A poem of despair until the very end, when it takes on a tone of hopefulness. Very nice. I applaud.

-bows- Thank you... I've never read any of [grrr]inson's work, although I think we have a book somewhere. Is she good?

If you can understand what the hell she's saying...yes. She writes things like "Madness is the Divinest Sense," and "Hope is the Thing with Feathers," or "Parting is all we know of Heaven, and all we need of Hell." But yes, her stuff is good when I know what she's talking about.

-nods- Yes, Fely, I agree about [grrr]inson.
Well, about the poem. It is a good poem, and does do a lot. As far as for capitalization, you are actually supposed to capitalize the first letter of every line in a poem. Or, at least, that's what I have always been taught. *shrugs* [/size]

-Prods Hikaru- I meant captialising various words that aren't at the beginning of a line.
