-:¦:-¸¸.·´¨`-:¦:-In eyes of rich gold and blood-red hue, soaked in the many images of the deep, dank and dark creveces displayed by the many deep caves that led into other adventures and tales of unknown. She had been into these caves before, but it had been so long. All the many information of species, and sacred histories belonged upon the many stone walls, gleaming as if they were first chizzeled there by magic. But the female that stood before the mouth of the cave, thought of another business. Far off, near the many fields and boulders, a sibling brawl took place to which Raven did not want to be part of. No, she was best staying away from such. Her head swam in thoughts of the revolition undergoing in the lands. And word has been brought that there was a new Alpha female in their neighboring pack and ally, the Destiny wolves pack. It will be hard, to meet the new female, and gain her trust and acceptance to be allies as they had pacted with Lightning in the beginning. Raven didn't even know this wolf... and the thought vexed her, even sent chills down her very black spine. But she could not wallow in worry and thought about that right now...
Slender ears rolled to and fro about her cranium as she whisked a few feet away from the caverns, her eyes traveling to the far Northern borders that were a tad bit darker than usual. The lands were dying... "Oh, good heavens" breathed Raven, vexed at the thought of this land, living in it for a good many long while, suddenly dying before the pack's eyes. It was because the sudden dry air... and the lack of rain. The last tempest during a midwinter storm of late caused such a lashing, that the Spirits thought it best to move on. And her own children... Electra grasped the fact so quickly... But would it bother Rakurai and Mimei so, that they would be driven into madness? Oh, what a mother can bear for so long... But she adored her children like precious diamonds, she wouldn't let anything happen to them...
And her friend, lover, and perpetual mate-for-life... Wherever he was. Alas, Raven was used to his comings and goings, that she was not precisely as worried, but at this moment, perhaps she should be... The Great Moving, as she fancied calling it, should have perhaps reached his ears... If not, it'd be best to tell him now, him being the Guardian Beta...
At last, a thought occured in her sharp mind. Raising her slender muzzle, she emitted a sweet song to the heavens to summon Goth. -:¦:-´¨`·.¸¸-:¦:- [/color][/font][/size] |

He had already been loping towards her before her sweet song graced his ears. News of the fight over the title of alpha had reached him, and instead of bolting to witness, he decided to find Raven. Somehow, he felt that she needed him—and he knew he needed her. He'd been absent from the lands for quite some time, but now he had returned, and he had to see her again. As he ran towards the origin of her call, towards the caves, he could not help noticing the land was fading rapidly. Wildly he wondered where his children were. Electra—Mimei—Rakurai—hopefully they were safe. The former was fully adult now, but the latter two were only adolescents, if mature ones. Once he found Raven, they would look for their children together. But first—dear Raven of his heart.
He flew even without his wings, past the dying grass and the drooping trees, over the churned earth, straight as an arrow. Before he knew it, he'd arrived at the caverns, and it was only a matter of time before he found her. He licked her cheek, he nuzzled her affectionately, he embraced her with his wings. At last, all the emotion churning inside him coalesced into one simple word: "Hello."

-:¦:-¸¸.·´¨`-:¦:-Alas! Ere before her, like a rolling boulder racing to earth from above, came that of a vision she so wanted to see!
A bubbling, flirtatuous echo erupted inside her throat, and from her wildly pumping heart so vicious, as she wagged her tail and greeted her mate with happy, sweet kisses and wild licks upon the face. She was well hydrated, so such kisses may have been wet. "Hello!" she gushed, smiling, forgetting all the darks of the days, but she continued laughing shrilly, as if she cared nothing else in the world but the wolf she romped and rolled with. "It's been forever! Almost two moons, I'll warrant!" Her voice became steadily deeper, though nothing dramatic, it was a voice of spring-love and pure Eden-like happiness. Trully, it was such a happiness she had not felt before she met Goth...
"And," she continued, her cheeks turning pink (though you could only see such if she did not possess fur), "Before you went away, I have wanted to tell you something, but I drew back, knowing it would bother you on your enigmatic journey..." She paused, panting as she padded around Goth once, before slowing to a halt beside his ear, to which she leaned in close, her nose almost touching the hairs inside his ear... if he allowed such.
"Be prepared for a new litter, m'love." She said it softly, though almost excitedly. "You are gonna be a daddy all over again." -:¦:-´¨`·.¸¸-:¦:- [/color][/font][/size] |

He smiled at her while she spoke, just happy to see her again. When she finished speaking, it took a moment for the information to register. When it did, he merely blinked in surprise. "Raven—" he nuzzled her and licked her cheek again, heart swelling with happiness and ecstasy. "Pups?" He found he could not speak coherently or intelligently; he was too overwhelmed by this sudden knowledge. And in that moment of joy, he made a promise to himself and her.
"I vow to be present more often now, for these children," he whispered, meaning every word. "I promise these pups will have a father every possible moment of their lives. I swear nothing will tear us apart. Oh gods above, Raven! Children!" His eyes shone gleefully. "New lives in a dying place—new hope in a place nearly lost. This is marvelous!"

-:¦:-¸¸.·´¨`-:¦:- "Oh, no, Goth," said Raven passionately, attempting to swat Goth's nose playfully, but all the same, would move her muzzle flirtatiously upon his shoulder, if he allowed it. "I understand of your comings and goings. I have realized it is essential for you... but... perhaps... What is it you do, if you do not mind your mate's boldness to inquire?" She fluttered her wolfish lashes as she stepped back a foot away, her tail swinging to and fro, her tongue lolling to the side. "But I do realize that if it is not my place to know, then so be it. I am only just curious to know where is it you go beyond the borders... if it is beyond such." Overall, Raven couldn't help but feeling an immense rush of love and gratitude she felt for Goth, due to the fact that he had just made an oath to linger around longer and be a father. -:¦:-´¨`·.¸¸-:¦:- [/color][/font][/size] |

Goth shook his head and gently nipped Raven's ear in a display of love. "I'll stay. Many of my journeys take longer because I linger where I go. I will hurry back more often now." When asked upon what he did, he sighed and gave a sad smile. "It is no big secret. I help patrol the boundaries, most of the time. I make sure no enemies are coming in; I greet new wolves seeking membership. But sometimes...I go beyond even these borders. If Yueh or anyone hears of a rumor of evil, I volunteer to go and determine if it's truth or falsity." His expression turned to one of slight pain. "Sometimes...they are true. And I am required to fight." He shook his head slightly. "But none of these evils have yet reached the borders. It is my duty." He looked to the north, and sighed. "It will be...different...once we are with the Destiny wolf pack."

-:¦:-¸¸.·´¨`-:¦:- "Aye..." she said briskly, inclining her head to the side in thought. "So much is required of us. But if we can patrol the borders together, it would probably be better. I wouldn't mind waking up early every day. That is what I used to do, anyway... And with our new pups..." She looked around at her swelling belly again, an immense amount of pride seen in her gaze, "...speaking of pups... I wonder how many...?" A giggle burst from her throat as she rolled onto her back, her legs sticking straight up into the air, but her head was thrown back, and at this position, she would look up at Goth properly. "I'm so excited!" She'd then display a very wolfish wink, only revealing her crimson-red eye.
"Even so, I hope I do not have labour during our travel. I'd not like to have our pups like I did with Rakurai and Mimei." She laughed softly, pulling herself up, and laying in spinx position. "Wonder... what the new lands will look like. And... I hope our new, future Alpha will know what he, or she is doing." She gave yet another wink. -:¦:-´¨`·.¸¸-:¦:- [/color][/font][/size] |

He could not help but smile at her; her excitement was contagious. But he hesitated before answering her proposal to travel with him, especially now that she was pregnant. He could not ask that of her…“You needn’t trouble yourself,” he told her. “I am quite willing to stay with you here. I am afraid I do not want you to risk labor while we travel. I, too, remember the births of Mimei and Rakurai.” He paused for a moment, uncertain how she would respond. Soon, though, he resumed. “Yes…how many…” A wistful smile graced his maw. “We shall see. Your eagerness is catching, m’love. I find myself hardly able to wait as well.” He grinned broadly at her, the kind of grin that lit up his entire face, making his golden eyes sparkle with love. “The new lands…are bound to look better than these do now.” He let out a sad sigh, and cast a sorrowful glance at the dying area around them. “But hopefully…they will not be too different to adjust to. As for the new Alpha…” he shook his head. “So long as power-hungry Shishu does not acquire the title, I will be content to follow any of Yueh’s and WyndBain’s children.”
“There you are! Mom! Dad!” cried a young wolf nearby. He loped down easily to join his parents by the caves, silver eyes shining in wonder and joy, a contrast to the luxurious black fur he’d inherited from his parents. “Long time no see, for either of you.” Rakurai stretched laconically on the ground, beaming up at both of them. He was not yet aware that he would soon have new siblings.

-:¦:-¸¸.·´¨`-:¦:- Raven: "From what I've heard, our wretched nephew fled the country, back to those damned packlands in the far North." As she said this, her sharp ears fell onto her sleek head. "Ah, well..." At that instant, her ears flew upward as the sound of 'Mom' issued from none other than her son Rakurai. A smile crossed her features as she stood up slowly, and stretched some. "Hello baby." said she in her motherly way, crossing over to Rakurai. He was perhaps reaching that of adulthood, but Raven had only said, "You're still a child in my eyes" and gave him lots of motherly kisses like a lioness would do to a cub. -:¦:-´¨`·.¸¸-:¦:- [/color][/font][/size] |

In reply to the news regarding Shishu, Goth merely shook his head as if to say “He’s better off there.” But he did not pursue the topic, and bestowed a smile on his son Rakurai, who had grown noticeably since he’d last seen him. “Wonderful seeing you again, Rakurai,” he said affectionately. Then he met Raven’s eyes and asked, “Shall I tell him, or will you?”
Rakurai endured his mother’s affection for a moment, then backed away, mischievous light dancing in his eyes. “Aw, Mom, c’mon…I’m too old for that, now. I’m not a pup anymore.” He lifted his head in self-convinced pride of maturity. But he cocked his head when he heard his father’s remark to Raven. “Tell me what? Tell me what?” He wagged his tail in impatient eagerness.
