He nodded. "Yeah. You hungry, at all?"

"Come to think of it, I'm starving. Were is some good food? You lead I'll follow." Her tail wagged slightly and she jumped ahead. She looked back waiting for him to take the lead.

He trotted off at a fairly fast pace, looking back over her shoulder to see if she were following.

She stayed close, her muzzle came to his shoulder as she trotted after him. She grinned and nipped at his ear. She wagged her tail.

He was all seriousness now, as he spotted a small family of deer: a doe and her two fawns. The fawns were young, one visibly smaller than the other. Taerin licked his muzzle as he crouched, waiting for them to come closer.

Ukamirru caught the seriousness of him. She gazed at the family with hungry eyes. She crouched down, waiting for Taerin and the deer.

One of the fawns, the larger one, took a few steps forward, coming within a few feet of Taerin. The mother looked up in alarm, and the fawn started to turn back, but that was when Taerin leapt. His sharp claws raked the young deer's flanks as he bit deeply into its neck.

Ukamirru glanced at the mother. She let a growl escape her as she tore off chasing the doe. With every stride she drew nearer. She ran around the doe and curved infront of it. Wheeling around she forced the doe to change its direction, but like the fawn, it was too late. Her fangs sank deeply into the doe's neck as blood gurgled into her mouth. Her claws sank into it's shoulders. The doe fell, landing on it's side. "Hey Taerin, over here." She stood beside her prey and waited for the wolf, proudly.

Taerin's good eye narrowed very slightly. "You should have gotten the other fawn," he said. "Now it'll just die, without it's mother."

She hung her head, and layed back her ears. She tucked her tail under her legs. "Sorry." Her blue eyes looked up, a small spark growing in them.
A small giggle escaped her. "You aren't really that mad are you?" She cocked her head to the side. "It won't die, unless we leave it to. Come on, we'll go and kill it, bring it back, and have ourselves a meal." Her head was now carried high, as her ears were perked up. Her tail wagging with excitement and delight. She trotted a little ways, and turned to see what Tearin would say.

He shrugged. "Leave it for some other animal. If we left to kill it, the ravens would eat our kill..."

She sighed. "Ok, you have a point there. Are we going to eat it or not?"

He dipped his head, pushing his muzzle into the still-warm carcass of the fawn. Soft growling noises escaped him as he fed ravenously.

Ukamirru filled her mouth, with the fresh meat of the doe. "Hey, I can't eat this whole thing," she said, her mouth half full, "When you're done, help yourself over here." She returned to munching the food, eating it very messily.

He shrugged, growling warningly at the crows and ravens circling overhead.
