Ears were pressed flat, hoping to drown out the sound of the battle. And it did until they were far enough from the scene itself. Deciding for herself how far safe was exacly she paused and instantly fell onto her knees. Tears began to leak down from her cheek, taking the same trail that had been laid out by the shimmer. Why? Why now of all times did this all have to occur? Hand clutched her shoulder, not because of the pain, but because there was nothing else for her to do. Her wings folded together gently before unfolding again. The left one hurt lightly now, and one could see why. A small hole, about the size of a bullet, could clearly be seen. A few cracks made there from the hole. But it appeared, this wound would never heal up.

He watched her, wondering what she felt. He sighed, feeling helpless. "Do you trust me?" he asked it again. He wanted to say something else, but he was unsure if he should, or even if this was the right time.

Nisha had been looking over her shoulder at her now broken wing. Her wings were the only thing she decided that was beautiful on her. And now, they were now broken. Shoulders were slumped forward, ears resting almsot flat, eyes full of weariness. She jumped slightly when he asked his question. From that point her gaze lowered towards the ground. Mind thinking over the answer. It would almost seem that she didnt hear the question then finally her lips parted and her quiet vocals emerged.
'No. I dont trust anyone.'
With that said she moved against a tree, leaned against it on her good shoulder then let her head rest against the trunk. And there she would sit for a while, the blood on her dress greatly contrasting with the whiteness of her skin. No, no longer could she allow herself to trust anyone. It all ended the same. Pain and anguish.
Eyes closed, remembering the days of her childhood and her mothers smiling face. Back in a time where her mothers sweet song could chase away all the fears and tears she had gotten through the days events.
'Learn to be lonely, Learn how to love, Life that is lived alone.'
She should have heeded these words long ago.

He stood beside her, letting her do as she wished. Yet, he could not understand why her answer was such, nor why she couldn't see he was different. Oh, how he wanted to let her know, but he couldn't, for he feared she would never accept it.
"Why not?" asked he, in reply to her answer. "What has happened that has made this so?"
He wanted to know, so that perhaps he could break through the ice, that kept her from knowing she could trust some, perhaps not all, but some.
He leaned his back against the tree and looked down at her. His shirt was torn, and it rippled about loudly, as it was swept around by a breeze that came by, and seemed to last forever.

In the passing moment of silence, one last gunshot echoed over eternity...and one could only imagine the outcome of the battle. On the happier dream, one might imagine both of them getting away without any hurt or pain between them, but such a dream was for that of fools. A slightly less happy version might conjure up images of Irvine being victorious, and the gunshot was his...a reasonable illusion for one's mind, consideirng both fighting parties had dropped their guns a bit earlier. But with the laps of time...and Irvine did not return, one's thoughts had a way of believing the worst. Horrific images of his silent body lying there were quite easy to produce...along with the picture of Jayden standing over him, gun smoking. Not exactly the lovliest of dreams...but as stated above, it appeared that Irvine hadn't made it out of this one...too much time had elapsed on his return. The only sliver of hope one might fantasize however...was that the fight was not yet won...though seeing how they were both skilled marksmen when it came to a shot, that possiblity seemed a bit slim.

Ainoko's mind twirled as he thought about all that had happened. Since he had met Nisha, saved Irvine, met a wolf, and on went his list. He wondered why Nisha was this way. He had begun to understand as he had seen all who had come only to kill her. Perhaps that had something to do with why her trust was limited. Certainly there was someway to befriend her. And, he thought again how anyone could have been so heartless. His anger towards people like that had shrunk but he still wondered about the matter. His thoughts again returned to Nisha. He looked down at her, his soft blue eyes watching her warmly. His ears were perked, waiting patiently for her answers to what he had said to her earlier.

Wolven ears instantly rose at the sound of the gun shot. Her head snapped up and she looked in the general direction they had come. Eyes scanned the terra for a moment, seeing nothing but the trees sway and leaves being pushed by the early summer wind. Patiently she waited, a slight hope twinkling in her eyes before it disappeared. She feared the worse, and in a way, hoped for it. She only brought trouble, maybe loosing someone she almost trusted would be enough to completely get her away from everyone. For her to learn to be lonely for once and for all.
Finally she let out a sigh and eyes closed as if tired. It was over in her mind now. But Aniokos question still remained unanswered. Another sigh she stood. Legs wobbled for a moment before becoming steardy once more. Silver eyes looked at her shoulder and the rest of Irvines shirt. Easily she pulled the cloth off and examined the spatter of blood that now decorated it.
'I just cant.'
She placed the cloth in his hands and began to walk away. Occuli towards the ground in a depressing manner. She walked a few paces then stopped. 'Ive always been this way Anioko.' She finally turned and looked at him. 'It will never change.' She watched him one last time before walking again.
Yet once again she stopped, one hand briefly resting on a tree. It was time to move on from these lands, find another to dwell in peace and away from the others. 'If you trust me, then dont come looking for me. Do you understand?' This time she didnt turn to look at him as she spoke. And for once, trusted him enough not to follow her.

"It's not whether I trust you, it's whether you trust me. I will never understand what happened to me over this past time, but I will tell you that I honestly love you." He looked down at the cloth and placed it in his pocket. He watched her go, and hoped that she would reply. He didn't want her to go, and he wanted to go with her, but she had asked it not. He sighed and stayed where he was, deciding not to leave untill she was safely away.

He loved her? Her step faultered a bit and she shook her head. No, love or not he would wind up like the rest of them. Dead. It was just for her stay completely away from anyone and everything. She picked up her pace slightly, wanting to get far away from everything as possible. Who cared that her half sibling was out there searching for her wanting to kill her. She certinly didnt. Let him come and kill me then, she thought without regret.

A tear slowly dripped from his eye. He could not explain why it had come. He would miss her dearly, but if she did not want him, than so be it. He watched her go with a heavy gaze, wishing she could understand things better. "Why can I not come with you?" he asked.

The did cause her step to faulter and she released a small sigh, as if she wanted the subject to be dropped. And in this case she did. 'BEcause I dont want you to get hurt.' Fair enough right? She began to walk again, this time much faster an d moving through the trees as so he would stop asking questions and just...move on.

He really did not care about himself, but he could see she was becoming anoyed. He looked down, and turned, slowly walking away. His feet felt like they weighed ten times more than usual but he did not care in the least. He would get over it, eventually, but for now, his mind was confused slightly.

The soft rustle of leaves churned the night air, the scent of summer thick on the back of the wind. One could almost detect the taste of memories carried through the soft breeze that would be just enough to ruffle one's hair. A moment or two of this air, and then quite suddenly, a more familiar scent wafted through the air, masculine and a mix of aftershave and a bit of leather. For a while, there was only that, just a soft, memorable smell...comforting to the nose. It wasn't long after that a twig snapped just behind Nisha, and followed up with the sound of brittle, old leaves breaking under someone's footstep. "You weren't..." A pause as the masculine voice allowed a soft slip of air to pass from him, trying to surpress some sort of pain. "Planning on leaving without saying goodbye...were you?"

On hearing and smelling these things he whirled around. He began to worry slightly. He walked out far enough so that he could see what was going on. He stood there watching, not getting any closer, as Nisha did not want him to. He watched and listened not making a sound.

The wind seemed to shift and carry about a new form of fragrance in the air. It was indeed familiar but the young demon merely pushed it aside, claiming it was her heart that still wanted to hope. But she knew better now, yet the scent was encouraging none the less.
The twig snapped and instantly she froze, ears at full position. Eyes closed gently thinking it was merely Anioko who didnt heed her wishes and was following her. Figures, she finally puts trust into someone and this is what happens, its shattered like glass.
"You werent.." Those words, that voice caused her eyes to reopen and brows come together in confusion. That wasnt Anioko.
'Planning on leaving without saying good bye were you?' No, she knew that voice it wasnt him there was no mistaking it. Head turned to the side at first, turning the words over in her head as they were spoken. The hole in her wing faintly visable. Finally the demonness turned half way around, though her head was now on the one who spoke to her. Some reason, she didnt seem surprised that he had lived however her eyes were showing distrust. How could she believe it? She had been decieved too many times up to this point by many, it was only right that her own mind would start to decive her as well.
