Pagan felt himself rising - and it took a moment to realize that the strange wolf got him! She successfully took him into her jaws, but she was not aggressive about it. Nonetheless, Pagan squirmed vigorously, snarling in a tiny voice. "Let me go!" he shouted viciously, attempting to use his razor sharp claws to scratch his captor. He failed to realize that this stranger was only saving his and Celtic's lives - but being blind, he didn't understand, nor the strange sound that had come from the pinnacle of the mountain.
"Cel," he screamed at the top of his lungs, "help me!" He started crying, little tears dampening his face, not realizing that another stranger had approached the trio - he was quite too busy wallowing in his tears, wishing Father would swoop down and save them. He even began regretting leaving the dens, and wanted the comfort of his mother's solace. "MOMMY!" he cried.

Killer nearly gagged and dropped the pup she carried in her jaws when she heard him utter the last word. *Mommy...now doesn't that sound familiar?* she thought wryly, just about to reflect back on her history when a large brute fluttered down ahead, landing lightly right in the path of where she was going. Cursing silently in her head, the fae slammed on the brakes, claws digging into the soft snow in an attempt to keep her paws from slipping out from underneath her. A shower of the white powder underfoot blew out from behind her trail, leaving a light silvery mist. Snarling at the brute with difficulty due to the furry squirming bundle still clutched tightly between her long fangs, Killer assumed a defensive stance, glaring at the stranger with suspicion, all craziness gone from her feral eyes. The unanswered question hung in the air thickly, threatening to choke either one of them any time now.
Not able to stand it anymore, Killer lowered her head slowely, black orbs glued to the other wolf, and released her hold on the blind cub. Whether his brother wanted to join him on the ground was his own choice. "What does it look like I'm doing carrying two pups while evading an avalanche that big on my tail?!" she snapped, dancing agitadily from one paw to the other. The huge snowmound was behind them yes but could approach at startling speed at any time, burying them all underneath. "Now if you've finished with ridiculous questions, I'm really not up for freezing to death under a mountain of this stuff so I'll be on my way. If you want to then be my guest." Taking up the dropped pup again, the black fae made to leave again.

Oh, horror upon horrors! Not only was Pagan crying out so pathetically for his twin and for their mother, but Celtic was beginning to feel the clamp of hopelessness. He could’ve dropped off of the raging wolfess and run for help, but what good would that have done either him or Pagan? He would only get crushed beneath the avalanche, perishing without a sound, and Pagan would simply be confined to his fate. Their choices were bleak.
Then, a ray of hope! A wolf, not as big as their father Goth (whom Celtic wished very much were there to save them and defeat this rampaging wolfess), but still normal (compared to Killer) and with a friendly stance. But, alas! The twins’ weaknesses struck again. Pagan could not see that there was a possible savior before them, and though Celtic could, he could not cry out for help.
Celtic was too frightened of the onrush of stones and snow behind them to jump off of his vehicle. So he merely sent the other wolf a helpless and pitiable glance, hoping against hope that the other wolf would interpret it correctly and rescue them. They were between a rock and a hard place now, for sure. If only this new arrival would help them! If only Celtic could cry out for help!
Pagan, Celtic thought haplessly. Pagan has to realize that this wolf is here…and ask for help. But how I can I tell him? Indeed, Celtic was too far away to “tell” Pagan anything. They were stuck. Celtic again stared at the wolf, hoping against hope he would do something…
Meanwhile, the avalanche was gathering force behind them. They were not in the safety zone yet. Celtic could not prevent soundless tears from escape his eyes and rolling down his cheeks. Oh, if only their parents were here! If only they had not explored the Great Mountains! If only, if only! For who was to say whether this other wolf knew that Killer was not their mother? And who was to say whether he could even save them from both threats—Killer and the avalanche?
Celtic squeezed his eyes shut in the face of imminent doom.

Paws shook slightly with the rumbling of the mountain as the avalanche continued to tumble only a bit behind all of them, they only slightly out of reach, and thus quite far from safety. However, this didn't really cross Shirokiba's mind, for he was becoming more and more concerned. The feeling that told him that indeed these pups were nowhere near the paws of a friend grew constantly. His ears had twitched when Pagan had cried out for help. It was completely sure now, yes, this wolfess was definitely not their mother. How could it be possible? As he studied the two pups, they looked fearful, unsure...
As the wolfess, Killer, ran he frowned. He wasn't satisfied at all... He swerved, crossing her path once again, flashing his fangs slightly. "As a matter of fact, I'm not done questioning..." he answered. He didn't say it angrily, or snappy, but there was a threatening tone to his deep voice. He paused a moment, glancing behind her at the avalanche. Perhaps it would be best to get the pups further from it... he bit his lip. Should he confront her now? or later... either way, the pups really weren't in safety, not until they were away from this wolfess.
He turned his attention back to her, that is if she hadn't used his drawn-away-attention to run again, and spoke. Afterall, to try and take the pups from here might be one of the dumbest things he could do. What if she pressed her jaws to tight and killed the one those jaws held? Or the other slipped from her back and hit the ground wrong? No, those were chances he didn't want to take. He didn't want to fight her, no aggression hadn't exactly ever been his way of doing things... but he would if he had to. He knew she wasn't the kind to simply just hand over the pups without a question. "We both know you aren't what you claim to be... at least in any sort of way helpful to these two." He paused, "Drop them..." It was a simple command, yet one he hoped she'd follow. Somehow... he had a feeling she wouldn't.
