OOC: This is the continuance of the original board entitled 'Timelessness' created by Fely. Feel free to join in.
Pagan felt the strange smooth boulder that his brother found. It felt queer to Pagan as Celtic guided his paw, and he began to shudder. "I don't like that," he growled, drawing back his paw. This was the his great insecurity - not being able to see and to touch something that issued a bothersome aura. Subconsciously, Pagan was a bit intrigued as well, and a kind of tug told him to stay and to make Celtic investigate some more, but being as protective as he was, Pagan wouldn't allow that.
"We should go on," said he softly, his milky eyes rolling curiously in his sockets as he spoke.

Celtic watched as his twin reached out to touch the enigmatic stone. So he wasn’t alone. There was something different about this big rock. Something he couldn’t place, and evidently, neither could Pagan. But his brother didn’t like it. Celtic wasn’t sure about it. It was strangely wrong, yet Celtic was intrigued by it. He was cautious, true, but he couldn’t suppress his curiosity.
Pagan finally said they should move on. Celtic tilted his head, unsure. His twin hadn’t expressed how to move on, because of course he couldn’t see their options. Celtic stared up at the great boulder, the massive monolith, and saw that they would have to climb the mountain in order to get past it. He hesitated, his parents’ grave warnings about the Great Mountains echoing in his mind. But Pagan didn’t want to go back, and neither did Celtic. He sighed, made sure his tail was in his twin’s mouth, and slowly—carefully—gingerly, he began to lead his brother up the side of the mountain.
He tried not to slip, though the slope was dirt-covered and rocks fell as he clambered up. Celtic would take several moments to survey the area before finding a suitable foothold to move on. All the while, he kept glancing back at the huge obelisk, as if he were afraid it would do something to him. He paused and relaxed himself against the side of the boulder, feeling the tickle of bizarre energy pass through him. He wondered what Pagan would say about this latest development. Celtic wasn’t sure he should go on, because they would have to climb the Great Mountains further to get past the boulder.

Pagan felt happy to oblige by taking Celtic's tail before anything else could happen. He felt his little heart race against his ribs, and he didn't like feeling this way at all. "Come on, hurry up, I wanna get outta here, kay?" he whined, pathetically wishing he could see. His whole body was shuddering; he felt strange indeed after touching that stone. It felt as if every particle in his entire being were shifting unfathomably.

A black enshrouded figure sat perched lightly ontop a broad topped boulder, nearly hidden completely by the overhanging dead branches above. "Well well well, what have we here? Two lost little wolfies?" The creature laughed unnaturally, sounding more like the grating of stones against eachother, eyeing the two below with slightly crazed eyes. Leaning forward so that just enough light struck her deep pelt and ebony orbs, the fae glared bloodthirstily at the two others, fangs showing in a cool smirk. *This shall be fun.....*

Celtic was about to move on at his brother’s will, for clearly Pagan was impatient. Instead, just as the young pup took a step forward, he heard a terrible voice coming from above. Frightened, Celtic looked up, and to his horror he saw a creature that looked like it had been made from shadows—all dark and scary. Anxiously, Celtic repeated the nudge-poke code that indicated “trouble” to Pagan, though of course his twin already knew. And this time, Celtic didn’t need his brother’s guidance. He knew what to do.
He turned quickly, though making sure Pagan had a good grip on his tail, and headed down the way he came. He still needed to be careful, because going down the Great Mountains was just as dangerous as going up. Any slip and they would both go tumbling perilously down the slope. Though Celtic tried to avoid that, his front paws scrabbled at the dirt but slipped. He began to slide down, but scraped along a stone and began to tumble head-over-heels. Luckily, they weren’t too far from the ground.
Thud. Celtic landed unceremoniously on the ground, silently groaning as he picked himself up. He looked around frantically for his twin, for in the fall, he’d felt Pagan’s release his tail. Celtic had to find his brother before that awful creature on the awful boulder came down to get them. Pagan was blind, he was helpless, and Celtic could barely make a sound that would alert his twin to his presence. Even though Celtic’s bruises hurt from the fall, his first priority was to find his brother.

When Celtic issued the danger signal, Pagan immediately began to scramble into the direction that went down - or at least, he felt as if he were heading straight down the blasted mountain. He shrieked like a maniac, his little paws scratching at the stones beneath him as he ran for his life, the noise of the bigger wolf reverberating through his small ears. His unnerved screams were carried about all over the mountainside.
After all that time, by constantly saying that he was the bravest pup alive, it was obviously not true. Oh, Pagan wanted to be brave, but being so small and inexperienced, he was not ready to take on a big hairy oaf of a wolf. He felt the need to protect his twin, but what much can a pup do?
It took just one small pebble to make this little pup trip - and trip he did, tumbling down the cold mountain until it ended with a shocking thud next to his brother. Then all was still for a moment. Pagan picked up his head, and heard numerous cracks that sounded just like thunder - except the source of the noise came from the mountaintop. With Pagan's innate sense of direction, he could tell that it was just right above them, thousands of feet high.
Pagan's legs wobbled beneath him as he scuttled next to his brother, touching his cold, shivering nose to Celtic's face. "You hear that?" came out his quavering voice, more afraid of the noise now than the grating sound coming from the wolf that was ready to kill the two whelps.
Suddenly, a ton of snow from the peaks began to fall from the mountainside, sliding and rolling down the slope very quickly. It would soon swallow the two pups and the wolf if they do not run away in time - but Pagan was a bundle of nerves, and had no inkling of what the heck was going on except that they needed to get out of there as quickly as they can.
Perhaps it was Pagan's furiously loud shriek that caused the snow to slide.

Killer cackled at the sight of the two pups running pathetically down the slope of the mountain, one latched to the other's tail. The two went tumbling downwards halfway, arousing more laughter from the psychotic fae. Leaping down from her perch, she trotted carelessly down to join them, seeing one let go in mid tumble. *He'll be the last to go. But first....let's see what we can do with this one!*
The black nightmare wolf leapt in front of the frantic pup still at ground level and tilted her head hungrily at it, fangs glistening and bared in a hideous snarl that contorted her face like some scary monster out of a nightmare.
"Where do you think you're going little one?" Killer hissed, pitless eyes boring into the young pup's. The reply was never heard due to the loud tumbling sound coming from above. Startled, the fae whirled to find herself facing a huge mountain of snow come hurtling downwards, straight at the three wolves below. Growling to herself, Killer leaned down, picked up one pup in her jaws and flung him over her shoulder to rest on her back while grabbing the other one in her maw and darting off to the side, avoiding the avalanche as best as she could.

Celtic calmed down only when he felt Pagan’s damp and cold nose thrust into his face. Immediately he gave his tail for Pagan to hold onto, but to his fright, their bad situation was about to get much worse. Due to his twin’s piercing yells, snow had begun to topple down the mountain, picking up speed and mass as it hurled towards them. Celtic froze, too petrified by the sight to do much of anything. And then, to his panic, the great shadow wolf descended upon them. Her intentions couldn’t have been good.
Before Celtic could act, she swooped down and grabbed him in his maw. Celtic of course made not a sound, but only because he couldn’t. In his mind he was screaming frantically. She tossed him effortlessly onto her back, and he instinctively gripped her fur with his tiny claws. When his mind cleared, he saw her pick up Pagan in her maw, and watched, dazed, as she began to run away from the approaching avalanche.
What’s going on? he thought, frightened. Behind them, he heard the roar of the snow as it rushed down the mountainside and onto the ground. He shuddered, and despite himself clutched the she-wolf closer. Scary though she was, she was hardly anything to worry about compared to the impending doom from the Great Mountains. They really are Too Dangerous, he thought, belatedly understanding the wisdom of his parents’ warning.
As soon as we get out of here, he promised himself, I’ll grab Pagan and we’ll make a run for it, away from this crazy wolfess. And we’ll find Mom and Dad, and they’ll show her who’s boss. It sounded like a great plan in his head. He was afraid that it wouldn’t truly go that way…he winced as snow and rocks crashed down behind them. That was too close. He wished he could reach Pagan.

Today had been the day that this great wolf had expected to have a peaceful day. He plodded along smoothly, not really having his mind on any one thing. His paws covered the ground before him at a steady trott, his gray and white-tipped tail swishing back and forth lazily. Great round head was carried rather low, ears swiveling about now and then. Large, blue eyes gazed foward, and a rather pleasant smile rested on his white lips. His fur was thick, soft to the touch, and as it was summer hadn't shedded completely off. And, he would soon be growing a winter's coat as it was.
His black, leathery nose twitched, for as he had been moving along, he had suddenly caught up with the scent of a rabbit. He began to follow it, beginning to hurry his pace and his smile growing wider. The trail was fresh... however, ears perked and he stopped suddenly. His blue gaze rose, turning toward the great mountains that could plainly now be seen before him. His brows furrowed and he frowned slightly. He was sure he had just heard a shriek from above, and soon after had he noticed the avalanche that now tumbled down the mountain side. This was not good... perhaps all had seemed hopeless for the two young ones: Celtic and Pagan.
He spread his great silvery, white-rimmed wings, and lifted into the air. He soared higher, going up toward where he had heard the terrified shriek, or so he was sure. His blue eyes constantly searched the ground. Before long, he could see a form moving rather quickly below. A questioning look came to his eyes and he began to descend toward the mountain side. As he neared, he noticed that it was no single form, but one carrying two others. But... it was a female. Perhaps there was nothing for him to worry about. Perhaps she was carrying the two to safety, afterall there had just been an avalanche... he was unsure.
Gently he descended further, untill he came to a landing just above the running wolfess, standing dirrectly in her path. He wanted to know just what was going on... maybe it was none of his business and he would end up embarrassing himself badly. But right now, he didn't much think about his own pride. And anyway, if it were their mother, she would be understanding... right? He began moving toward them slightly, and wondered what he would say. He sighed slightly, then took in a breath and spoke. "If you don't mind my asking... what exactly are you doing?" He bit his lip, maybe it was their mother, but... he had an odd feeling that this wasn't so. And anyway, he could always ask the pups... or so he was sure.
