The evening sun shone bright above the mountains far away as the temprature dropped for the evening to a bearable level. The lake gently brushed up against the sand as the moon waited patiently for it's time to shine in the night sky. White clouds floated far, far away, above even the giant stones that crowned the earth. Evening birds hummed their songs as the humming birds buzzed their's. Leaves and trees gently bent in the soft, warm, delicate breeze. Under a lone tree that dare grow so close to the border of grass and sand lay a flat, wide rock in the shade, and on that rock lay a strange wolfen.
She had a sleek, shapely body with a long, swooping tail. Grizzled greys and blacks adorned her fur in no particular pattern, and large, jackalish ears sat atop her head as she lay there catching a nap. On her black-masked face was a reddish circle, thin and strangely alluring. A light nap was what she caught, and her ears swiveled and peked with every little noise it seemed. The name given upon this odd, yet beautiful wolf was Blakwhole. She came from far away over the mountains a year ago, but she dared not go past the lakeshore. She flourished here, even as a loner, and hadn't really met another wolf in a long time. Not since that one had come and startled her in her sleep, and the other, jackalish one had popped out of the shadows. She sleepily wondered what happened to them, and where they had gone, but nothing came to mind. Memories of them had often popped up durong springtime, and a few dreams, but that was spring. Nevertheless, she awaited their return. If they ever did come back. Why did she care? Wolves had come and go in her life. Oh, well.
She opened her eyes of blue and looked up to the peaks, half expecting the sunset. She had sang to the sunset and sunrise every day. If only she had someone to share it with...
