There are many advantages to being a wanderer. A wanderer is not bound by specific paths or timetables. She can go anywhere she wants at any time. A wanderer also gets to meet many new creatures. But there is one drawback: a wanderer doesn't always know where she is! Ookami had entered the forest the day before and though she could hear and smell and sense the other creatures here, she hadn't actually met anyone. A breeze rustled the leaves above her and rippled through her creamy silver-white fur, and she pricked up her ears at the whispers of the trees. Should she ask them where she was, or where everyone else was? Hmm...Ookami had learned long ago that while nature never lies, it hardly ever gives a straight answer, so she decided to leave that for later. "For a place so full of life," she said out loud,"this place can sure be lonely."

Fai had just entered the forest and was now lost. His fur was ruffled white, you could see it took him a long time to actually get to the forest. His voice was too quiet to hear. He sighed and to a deep breath. "Nooooooooooo..." The forest was too large. His ears caught a noise, faint but sure can hear it. "For a place so full of life, this place can sure be lonely." Or something of that. If Fai wasn't such a lazy-ass, he'd be there already, unfortunately, he only walked. Amazingly he made it there in half a second, guess he was in a happy mood today. "A normal wolf, huh?" Fai slowly crept forward, his claws stuck on mud every few seconds, and stated something. "For a few wolves."

"For a few wolves." She turned slowly to see a white male behind her. Looks wise they might have been littermates if not for a few physical differences. And also, well, there was the difference in type, but she had not been around this male long enough to know if was a normal wolf or a spirit wolf like she was. But she knew her manners and decided to be friendly; after all, she had just commented on how lonely this forest was. "I was starting to think my senses were false and there were no wolves in this land."

"Well, I haven't seen much either." Fai smiled, more seemed forced. He lifted his tail off the ground, which now started to wag. He now started to wonder if she really was a normal wolf or not. Fur was white, like his. She too had blue eyes, but he could've sworn they were lighter. They could've been twins, but no, he knew nothing about his true parents. He wanted to keep off that subject, hard to deal with, not like he had any siblings in the start, anyway. "There are a lot more, just not in this area. Do we know each-other? I'm Fai."

"I'm Ookami Ki, but hardly anyone calls me that long name. Have I met you before?" She thought for a minute. She was so old that chances are she had met a wolf like him, but if he was a normal wolf, surely she would have remembered him. The resemblence was striking, and she could tell he thought that too. "I don't think so. Not unless your over 400." She laughed. "That's about the time I start forgetting faces and names."

"Oh, okay. I'm 1200 years old." Fai wondered if he was really that old or he just forgot after 200. Or maybe he is that old but young? That didn't make sense. Fai's back started to ache, so he sat down. The scar bled just a bit. His wings fanned out in only a millisecond, and as fast as it came, it returned to Fai's fur. "Well, I haven't really met a lot of wolves. Actually, I don't remember seeing any." Fai's large blue eyes blinked. Fur got into his eyes. As he rubbed, his wings accidently spanned out again.

As she suspected, this male was not an ordinary wolf. 1200 years was a long time, but he seemed like a pup still in some way. She couldn't explain the feeling. Fai's pain was evident now and Ookami walked closer to him. "It's good to know I'm not seeing things. I thought I saw those wings a second ago. They're beautiful." She took a closer look at him. "I haven't seen one of your kind in ages. Literally." She smiled at him and motioned to his wings. "Do they work?"

"Hmm?" He noticed his wings as-well. "Thanks." He smiled again. This time, it came more naturally. "Yes, they do work." He now noticed something that seperated her from a normal wolf. As he started to slowly ascend, he noticed that it was oddly silent, his wings were. It had been ages since he had actually used them before. After ascending at least two meters high, he started to descend again, closing his wings a bit to descend faster. This time, his scar bled again, though at least enough to fill a cup. He acted as if nothing was really happening back there. He shifted oddly after returning to his original position. Maybe... He was just tired.

"Are you alright?" She cocked her head to the side, looking at the sharp contrast between his blood and his white fur. She put her head right, slowly shook it, and smiled at him. "So now what? Do you live around here? Were you going somewhere in particular?"

"I'm alright." His wings returned to the fur again, some blood swiped inside with it. Most wouldn't concern him, he isn't seen around a lot anyway. "Well, no. I don't actually live anywhere. Left. Also, there is no where to actually go." There came his strained smile again. Just thinking about May* would sadden him. He shifted again. Something was wrong...

She could sense something about him. He seemed uneasy, but she decided to let it be. If he needed help, he would ask. She decided she would change the subject, but keep a close watch on him, just in case. "I was just about to have a little hunt. Are you hungry?" She was doing it again - that mothering instinct she just couldn't suppress. Hopefully he didn't mind.
(~real life~ Sorry. I'm kinda new to role playing with message boards, so I'm not really sure where to take this. Hope I'm not too slow. ; ) )

Fai didn't want to let his thoughts carry him down, though now that feeling was just a habit and there was nothing to do about it. "Sure. I don't stop very often while travelling. Usually, I only catch something that was in close-range." Fai had no idea what a motherly instinct was, being hand raised by humans and all. He couldn't notice that, but there was something about it. He slowly stood up. His face seemed a bit less tense, still smiling. "Is it alright, though?"
((Role-playing is like a story, it's not very hard, unless a lot of things are happening. Don't worry, it's not too slow. ^^'' Sometimes, people take weeks to post; of course they have their reasons though. I'm fine with it. *shrugs* ))

"Well, okay then." Fai became stable again, and stopped shifting momentarily.
