My, my! You Shinkou users sure have been such good boys and girls! I just could not ignore Shinkou Ookami any longer, so I thought I come around and give Shinkou Ookami various gifts from yours truly!
Did you know that my favorite treat is the Pecan Butter Cookies? I love these, and now I will teach you how to make them! (These cookies is the main reason I can no longer fit in my favorite belt!)
Pecan Butter Cookies Recipe
1 cup margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
2 egg yolks
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
48 pecan halves
Preheat oven to 300º F.
In a medium bowl with an electric mixer at low speed, cream softened margarine and sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla, almond extract, and lemon extract. Set aside.
In another mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold into the creamed mixture, blend until thoroughly mixed.
Form the dough into 1-inch balls and place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Press a pecan into the center of each cookie. Bake for 20 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks.
Make a Paper Christmas Tree
[/color]Supplies needed:
- Green construction paper
- Crayons, markers, glitter glue, or tempera paint
- Scissors
- Clear tape
- Optional: Other colors of construction paper, glue, hole punch, stickers
Fold a piece of green construction paper in half, then cut it in half.
Put the two pieces together, and fold them in half again.
Draw half a Christmas tree opposite the fold.
Cut along the line - you should get two identical trees. Fold the trees in half, just barely creasing the center line (this is to mark the center of the tree).
Cut a slit along the bottom half of the center of one tree and along the top half of the center of the other tree.
Slip the two trees together along the slits.
Using clear tape, tape the bottoms and tops together (pieces of tape on the bottom and at the top make the tree stand up well and stop the slit ends from flopping over).
Decorate your tree with crayons, markers, glitter glue, or tempera paint. Or you can glue on tiny construction paper decorations or use star stickers. You can cut out tiny paper balls using a hole punch.
Now you have a really nice 3-dimensional Christmas decoration.
Optional: cut out a small construction paper star and cut a tiny slit in it. Put the star on the top of the tree (and secure it with some tape).
For a bigger tree: Start with two pieces of green construction paper, and fold them so they make a long, thin rectangle. Draw a tree opposite the fold. The rest of the instructions are the same.

CHRISTMAS NEWS
Russian rocket delivers Christmas presents to space station
A Russian Progress spacecraft blasted off Sunday from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan delivering vital supplies, as well as presents and goodies for Christmas and New Year's, to the International Space Station.
The Progress M-62 carried by a Soyuz rocket took off at 0712 GMT, a spokesman for ground control outside Moscow told AFP.
Packed with fuel, food, oxygen and technical gear, the craft successfully entered orbit and began the three-day journey to the permanently manned ISS, with an estimated docking time of 0826 GMT on Wednesday, ground control said in a statement.
Although the Progress will arrive a day late for Christmas, it is carrying presents for US commander Peggy Whitson and NASA flight engineer Dan Tani.
The third crew member, Russian cosmonaut Yury Malenchenko, was likely to be especially excited about the delivery. He will get not only traditional Russian New Year's presents, but something for his 46th birthday which took place Saturday, Interfax reported.
Among his gifts will be favourite films and music, plus some home video shot by his relatives back on Earth, RIA Novosti news agency reported.
In addition to the presents the crew were to be treated to "nuts and honey and we also traditionally send the station fresh citrus fruits -- grapefruits and oranges," an official from the Institute of Medical-Biological Problems told RIA Novosti.
