Here's a little something my friend asked and my reply to her.
Friend: Can anyone explain to me what is motivating Hillary Clinton and her constituents to attack anything and anyone who stands in the way of her nomination even though, mathematically, she would have to win 94% of the remaining pledged delegates to clinch it?
Me: Trying to win. Under the Democrats' rules as they're written, they don't officially have a presidential candidate until they've had their big Convention and all the delegates have voted. And also under the rules as they're written, they have a big pool of 800 unpledged superdelegates representing various factioal interests within the party, and who can vote for whoever they damn well choose at the Convention, regardless of who did how well in which states during the Primaries. Basically there's going to be a pool of undecided delegates five or six times larger than Obama's winning margin that's up for grabs at the Convention, and that's a pretty strong incentive to stay in the race just in case. She probably doesn't have what it takes to win the Democratic nomination, but the winning margin is narrow, she's showed that she's a viable contender, and she's probably just hanging in on the off chance that Obama's campaign falls apart at the last moment thanks to a scandal or blunder. It's not likely to happen, but she'd be kicking herself if she withdrew her candidacy and then watched her rival crash and burn a couple of days later. The only problem is that she doesn't seem to be handling things very well now that it's a close game for high stakes. She's made an awful lot of very candid remarks in public about maneuvring for the support of superdelegates and legalistic arguments that could be made to either make the Florida and Michigan delegates count or allow pledged delegates from other states to vote against their pledge. It reminds everyone of that one cousin they had who took boardgames far too seriously and was forever flipping through the rulebook to find reasons not to let everyone else win.
Anybody got any comments? Anything to say?

x.x I find politics horrible and tasteless. It leads to heated debates that leads to arguments then undesirable lynching. z.z Naw, just kidding about the last part, but a lot of people seem to wanna do that just because they disagree on something. When someone believes strongly in a subject, they'll go so far to stand up for that belief. It's horrible. e.e 'Cause then I can't state a belief without getting glares.
Now, I'm 19 years old and about to vote for the first time this year. I studied up on politics a bit, but unfortunately my attention span lets me go so far. Regardless Obama sounds promising. The only thing I wish is that all these politicians would tell the damn truth instead of telling us what we want to hear.

Ugh, I'm with you on Politics being tasteless. Politics and elections up in the great north, though not as extravagant as the american-dandy methods, are still just as bleck. It bores me to tears and usually when I look at the candidates I dont even know if I want to vote for any of them x.X
*Prods Jewdie in the buttocks* Why hallo thar!

Hillary's motivation is certainly trying to win the Democrat's nomination, but I don't see the point of continuing her campaign. The odds piled up against her. Maybe if she crossed her fingers and hoped for the best, all of that positive hippy energy will cause her to win.
However, like Jewdie said, it would be embaressing if Hillary dropped out of the race and Obama's campaign fell apart shortly afterward.
And I dislike Obama, honestly. There's too many people who will vote for him solely because he's black without any consideration as to what he will do for the U.S.S.A.

I agree. Obama all the way, man! Fo' sho'. n.n. I personally gof or Obama. And yes Analka, i agree. And all the pattern of lies she has left is pathetic. Like when Jerry Zeifman who was the Chief Council on the Committee on the Judiciary for the US House of Representatives was the boss of Hillary Clinton during the Nixon investigation that would lead to impeachment. During Hillary's time during this time wrote a brief saying there was no legal precedent for a person under investigation for impeachment to have legal representation. She knew this to be false because she took the documents in the public file of the committee to her office which at the time was secured and inaccessible to the public. Before she could submit the brief, Nixon resigned. If she had submitted the brief, she would have been disbarred. After the investigation she was fired, along with others that were no longer needed. Only three times in his seventeen year career he refused to give a letter of recommendation. Why did he refuse to do this for Hillary? In an interview he states because she is a lair, unethical & dishonest lawyer, "conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality". She didn't do it alone though she had the help of "Marshall, special counsel John Doar and senior associate special counsel (and future Clinton White House Counsel) Bernard Nussbaum – who engaged in a seemingly implausible scheme to deny Richard Nixon the right to counsel during the investigation." Even her supporters have to know she's completely unethical and a horrid human being...but she supports the same socialist big government nanny state they do...

To Analka: How can you say that everyone wants Obama to go for President simply because he is black? That is a very subjective observation. Why do you dislike Obama? Is it because he's simply black, or because of what he says he'll do that you do not agree with?
I like Obama because he seems able-bodied and what he's going to do with his healthcare plan. And I also like this statement about the war in Iraq and Afghanistan: "Congress gave the President the authority to go to war. Our only opportunity to stop the war was lost. I made a different judgment. I thought our priority had to be finishing the fight in Afghanistan. I spoke out against what I called 'a rash war' in Iraq. I worried about, ‘an occupation of undetermined length, with undetermined costs, and undetermined consequences.’ The full accounting of those costs and consequences will only be known to history." --Obama
Those are my judgments. I'm voting for him because of what he says he'll do, and I hope to God he does what he says he's going to do.
Edit: I wasn't trying to attack ya Analka. Just I'm trying to have you extrapolate on what you mean by what you said. ^-^
