The sun was shining bright in the sky, the fields, dancing as the wind frolicked with each blade. Cloven hooves moved silently in the grasses, giving way to large knees, and a huge chest. Upon the chest, a strong neck resided, leading up to a strong, proud head that was blessed with huge, powerful antlers. His body was black, littered with gray patterns that dappled his neck and back. His eyes were a deep, earthy green, and his antlers were a dark gray. He tilted his head up, listening to his surroundings, making sure no predators were too near. He then bowed his head down to the grass, snipping young plants, grazing calmly.

Little light blue eyes squinted from the shining sun, boy was it bright today. Those blue eyes belonged to a slender timber wolf pup, who looked to be only in her third month of life. Her fur, which had a fine sheen to it, was dominantly gray with a few rare black splotches scattered over her small body. Her lower jaw, of which she had a large hare tightly clamped in, was black and stuck out like a sore thumb from the rest of her mostly gray fur. For some reason part of her right ear was missing, the area where it was supposed to be had jagged looking edges to it, suggesting that it had been ripped off with quite a bit of force. Even she did not know how it happened, but she didn't really care for she had caught herself quite a large meal for such a small wolfess.
She had been slowly trotting through the lush green grass with a large smile on her face, which showed her white fangs, stained with a little bit of the hare's blood. She was proud of this kill and she should be, it was the first kill that she achieved by herself. However, the smile on her face disappeared once she came across the gigantic antlered creature. She opened her jaws which sent the hare to the ground with a small thump. She crouched down so close to the ground that the soft green grass tickled her belly, one of the best things about this place in the pack lands was the nice soft grass to just lounge about on. She stayed crouched to the ground, watching the gargantuan antlered beast.

The giant elk's ears perked to the sound of the hare hitting the grass. His dark green gaze landed on the small wolf puppy, his eyes curious and gentle. He knew she posed no threat, so was not really concerned, however, what was this puppy doing alone? He simply stared at her while chewing, upon swallowing the grass, his ears moved forward, casting a curious, gentle look on his features.

The wolf pup cracked another large smile when the giant beast saw her. She had to work to look up at the elks face, she was so short compared to his towering stature. "Whoooooa, you're really big." She said in surprise in her little voice. She cocked her head to the right, which made her look as if she was thinking. She slowly stood back to her full height, which was still tiny compared to the elk. She cautiously walked towards the antlered beast, completely forgetting about the hare that she was so proud of to have caught. Once she had finished her small trek towards the elk, she pushed off from the ground with her forepaws, trying balance herself on her hind legs. "I'm big too, see?" She asked in a playful happy voice. She managed to stay on her hind legs for a few seconds, before falling backward and landing on her back, all four of her legs left slightly erect in the air. As she was on her back she was looking up at the elk, curiosity in her blue eyes. "What's your name, big guy?"

The giant elk was somewhat surprised by her friendliness, finding it unusual that a wolf would talk to food. He lifted his grand head up to look around, the little wolfess was really alone. He looked back to her as she stood up, and laughed inwardly as she fell. His gaze became calm and serene, listening to the wolfess question.
"I am Galion... Who are you, and why are you by yourself? It is dangerous for one so young such as yourself to be all alone out here..."
He remained watching her, occasionally looking around for danger.

The small pup still lay on her back, smiling again when the elk spoke to her "Hi, Galion. I'm Canace." She said in the same playful voice. She cocked her head to the right again when he asked her more questions, she knew the answers to them, she just wondered why he wanted to know. She let out a tired yawn before she spoke. "Alone? I'm alone 'cause I can't find Ly." ((it's pronounce Lee)). She saw the elk raise his head and look around the area every so often, her eyes filled with curiosity again. "Why do you keep lookin' around like that?"

The stag looked to her when she asked him why he was looking around. His eyes grew gentle and thoughtful.
"Young one, you and I lead different lives... Where you can frolic and play without danger coming your way, it is not so with me. Us creatures that live off the grass and tree bark, must look out for the sharp fanged ones, such as yourself. If I don't wish to end up like that rabbit you just mauled," He motioned to the dead bunny. "I must forever watch for danger. My size grants me only so much protection, however, I am not invincible... Where you live a life in happiness and playful days, we live ours in constant alert, and fear."
He looked around once more, his features steeled as he listened intently. He then looked back to her and tilted his head to the side.
"Canace you say? A very suiting name for a playful one such as yourself... Who Is Ly, If I may ask..."

Canace cocked her head once again as the elk spoke, another smile appeared on her face and her eyes had a look of happiness in them. "Even if I was big enough, I wouldn't eat you, Galion. You're too nice." She flipped back over onto her belly and rose to her feet, and put her body down in a fake pouncing stance" That hare on the other hand..." She said in a fake menacing voice, cutting off in mid-sentence. She pounced onto the rabbit and took a bite out of its flesh, a small bit of its blood staining her muzzle. After she hungrily chewed the meat to bits and swallowed it she licked the blood from her maw, then turned to look at Galion to answer his question. "Hmm? OH! Ly is my best friend and master. He's human, so that lazy lounge about shouldn't be too hard to find."

Galion's face shifted from gentle to surprise, lifting his head as she spoke.
"Human?!," Galion looked around, no wonder he couldn't see anything, thet human was probably camouflaged in the grass. His ears shot forward, looking and smelling intently. He took a step back wards and steeled his nerves, ready for anything.
"Where is he?"
He looked around again.

Canace looked at the elk with curiosity once again, wondering why he all of a sudden got so serious. She was too young to know that humans killed animals for game, sport, and sometimes just for the hell of it. "Somethin' wrong, Galion?" She asked him, oblivious of his worries. "I don't know where Ly is, I've been lookin' for him for a long time now." As she said this, she too looked around for any sign of her lazy master. Her eyes widened and her ears swiveled forward when she heard a pretty loud snore.....Ly was sleeping...AGAIN! She quickly ran to where the snore was coming from and jumped into the air, and when she landed you could hear a loud grunt. Not from Canace, but from another creature altogether. Lykaios had been sleeping during the entire encounter between the elk and wolf pup, oblivious to the fact that Canace had been looking for him for the past few hours. He had been sleeping soundly until he felt a sudden weight jut down onto his stomach. He quickly snapped up so that his upper body was visible to the elk, but he wasnt looking at the elk. He was looking angrily down at the gray pup who had awoken him. "C, I told you not to JUMP on me while I'm sleepin'." He said this half yelling at the pup. His angry features showed one emerald green eye and one pure white one, he was blind in this eye, his left eye, which also had a scar going over it. He had greasy brown hair that went down to his shoulders, he obviously didn't care much for grooming. Once his mild anger had subsided he turned his head and saw the large elk, who was wary of him. This didn't really surprise him, all animals should be wary of humans. I see you've met C. Did this furball cause you any trouble? As he thought those words, the elk might have heard them echo through his own mind

Galion's features stilled as he saw the human rise from the ground, his eyes focusing on the small being. He noticed the two colored eyes as he looked at Lykaios, his face unmoving as he heard the humans voice in his head, he responded.
No, she was looking for you... I see you are one who can be trusted, only pure human spirits can have powers.
He then flicked his ear carelessly, shaking his small tail as well.

Canace just laughed as she was being scorned by her master, she just loved to make him angry. She put her forelimbs on his chest and licked his face. "Been lookin' everywhere for ya, you lazy bum." She said in her same happy voice. She withdrew her forelimbs so that she was back on all fours, then quickly ran to Lykaios's back and tried to jump into a large pack that he had strapped to his back, but she soon fell backward again onto her back. "A little help, Ly?" Glad C didn't bug ya any, she usually gets herself into trouble when she runs off by herself. He looked back to Canace as she put her forelegs on his chest and began to lick his face. "Cut it out, C." He said irratably. When he noticed that she ran to his back, he looked down at the ground and sighed. "I swear, you're too hyper for your own good, C." He said, laughing lightly when he saw Canace fall onto her back. When he heard her ask for help he turned around and grabbed the pup by the skin on her neck. She was still growing into her skin so she didn't feel any pain as she was being lifted. He placed her in the pouch onto his back and laughed as she poked her head out of the top of it. He turned his halfemerald, half pure white gaze back towards the elk. I guess I should thank you for keepin' this little furball busy for awhile.

Galion shook his head slowly in response, his eyes growing gentle.
No thanks necessary, rather, it was merely something willed by the gods I suppose.
Galion then shook his head, then bowed his head for another mouthful of grass.
