Orphan's flame- red hair blew gently in the wind, as he gently patted Raven's neck. His stallion was dancing, nostrils flared. He was nervous. Orphan was oblivious to the girl, as most had been. He then sensed a presence, unlike the others in this city. He grabbed Raven's halter as he reared. Orphan's eyes flashed a deep blue, he, too was becoming off center. He was starting to get Raven calmed down again. He was getting his saddle, when Raven bucked, kicking Orphan square in the side. White- hot pain shot through him. He walked to Raven's head, and smacked him on the nose. We cannot have any of that, now can we? He said, in an angered thought- speak. You kick me again, and it's off to the butcher for you. After that, Raven was calm. Orphan resigned himself to discovering the presence he had felt before. He was mounting Raven when he saw the girl. The was an... immortal radiation around her. He had to know why this was so, for he had not known any immortals other than himself.
He slowly dismounted, tethering Raven to a rail. His side was still paining him, but he pushed it away. "Excuse me, miss?" He asked, and waited for her to reply.

Orphan was astounded that she replied at all. He was now uncertain of what to say. He had to think quickly, for he did not want to make a fool of himself. "My name, is Orphan, and that is all anyone knows me by. I am new here, and am in need of a guide. I am wishing to ask for your help," his voice was like that of a northerner. That would do, he thought, maybe this will give me the chance I need to find out why this town holds the power it does... He bowed, and a black stone necklace fell out from behind his cloak. He stood up and tucked it back in, hoping that she hadn't noticed the stone. He called to Ahashe Kinduri, hoping that his dragon was there. She comforted him. Ahashe! I'm in the city. Stay hidden, I sense powerful mages here. They may recognize you. Yes, my Rider, was her solemn reply.

((I didn't. I just haven't been on for a while. Sorry. )) Orphan nodded. "That will be fine," he said, still fairly distant. He fingered a bracelet on his left arm, and waited, though unsure what for. He gazed at her though his eyes were clouded and distant.
