The human laughed gently and was about to explain how delicious it was when the howl broke through the air. He jolted slightly and came to a stop as his little companion moved closer to him. He looked down, now knowing fully what monsters she originally spoke of. It did sound close, but he had learned living near them that their howls were sometimes miles away. But, it was sometimes wrong to speak of what you know for true and what is just a trick of the mind.
The wolf was in front of them quicker then he could blink, it was growling and stiff. Watching any animal one would know it was ready for blood. Zach almost didn't hear the young one call his name for protection, but he felt her termble near him. This wolf was an idiot, strolling so close to the village where otehrs could see. It was sure as dead if it lingered here long. He figured once again that the wolves had learned not stray near, and the humans wouldnt stray near them. It was of sorts a mutual agreement. His hand moved inside his cloak to grasp one hidden weapon.
Ocean eyes watched the wolf, this beast was no match for what he had gone through with Ghost, and as a result he showed no fear in front of it. He didnt want to hurt it though, he had lived with them long enough to know they meant little harm if you didnt harm them first. He hadn't killed a wolf yet, but in defense he surely would. 'Get on out of here!' He yelled, trying hopefully to scare it off, not caring if it understood him or not. 'Get!' He yelled stomping the ground slightly.

Death snorted as the human man stomped his feet and yelled at her to leave. She stood, and her black eyes flashed a bright green as she stared at the humans. Black matter swirled around her, forming wings that attached to her back. She smirked, and emitted a kind ofthough-speak. You think of me as a fool, she thought-spoke. I know perfectly well that I am near a village. But I also know that I can take them easily. She had recently discovered her psychic powers, and found that she could not only understand humans, but read their minds, too. I am a half-spirit, who would usually be protecting her land, but I was chased out by my father after my mother died. She seemed to smirk, and her eyes once more flared a bright green as the mass began to fade, and one last message was emitted: Do not underestimate me.... and she was back again, in the same position that she had previously been in, leaving the humans to wonder if it had been real, or just a figment of their imagination. She loved toying with mortals. She was still snarling, fur raised, and resumed as if nothing had happened, acting as any normal wolf would. She snapped her jaws, a response for the full-grown male God's reaching into his jacket. She would toy with them, for a while at least, then maybe go on her way. But she knew that the whelpen was not normal, and she intended to show it to the male God, one way or another. She stared at them with her all-black eyes, which had no whites, no irises, [spelling?] nothing except an empty black void. Her stare unnerved most, and she was quite enjoying the terror of the whelp. She sent one message, but kept it strictly to the whelpen: I know what you are, and he will find out. You will probably be outcast, a monster among humans. Wings... And you can't even remove them... How sad... Yet it is the way you are, isn'tit? A soft tone was in the message, almost as if she cared for the young one, and, in a way, she did. She couldn't help it. She naturally felt the need to protect all living things, and t hough she managed to fight it pretty well, this whelpen was special. It was different, like she. She found herself struggling not to calm the whelpen, and instead focoused her attention on the male God.

((Sorry you guys! Been really busy x.x; ) She continued to hide against Zach's leg, or so she thought, jumping slightly out of surprise when he shouted and stomped slightly. She looked up at him, then her sapphire blue eyes turned toward the wolfess, lips quivering, she too afraid to speak. She had not yet learned her true potential, or power, and thus her being a half-breed didn't seem to help her at all. Yet, what startled her further, caused her curious mind to wonder, was when she heard the wolfess in her thoughts. At first, she thought it unreal, but soon realized it was real, and she listened to the words that tumbled through her head. Her fingers tightened with the wolfess' words, a slight frown coming to her face. "Zach? Is your village safe?" she questioned softly, her voice quivering as she spoke.
Then the voice was back, speaking directly to her, causing her to shudder. Tears twinkled on the corners of her sapphire blue eyes, she gently shaking her head. 'No... Zach isn't like that... he wouldn't...' She was unaware the wolfess could hear her thoughts... if the other were listening for them, and as she thought these words, she clung to Zach for protection, silently praying the wolfess would go away, wishing she would somehow disappear. She hated wolves intensely, as much as she feared them.
Her small wings she folded closer toward her back, trying to make them as small and invisible as possible. 'Why? What's wrong with my wings?' she thought to herself, wondering why she was always outcast for her wings in the past. It was the way she was? That's what the other had said... it was, but she wasn't sure what the other was saying, and it caused her anger to deepen. She was hated by humans, and angels... but wolves also now? This confused her young mind, for she wondered why she was so hated... but she did not ask. She was only silent as she clung to Zach, praying and hoping silently.

Ocean eyes narrowed considerably as he heard the wolfs voice echo through his thoughts and minds. She was threatening them. Two innocents who had done nothing wrong. Feeling that not only was he in danger, but his small friend was too. With that, he pulled his weapon, a sword that was unlike any other. Instead of steel its blade was clear, as if made of a strong crystal. Inside, water seemed to swirl, living and breathing, waiting to expose its power to the world. He heard the meek cry of the little life form clinging to his leg. He wished he could have spared a glance down to her, but knew it would be a mistake. 'It is, Melindonia.' It was a promise, he would not let any harm come to her. Not like this, not like anything.
''And you dont underestimate me.' He said, making his voice clear. 'I have dealt with creatures far worse then what you can imagine.' Instantly the screams of those demon babies seered through his mind, Ghost's intemidating laugh, Taris' own screams of pain. 'Now leave.' It wasnt a request, a demand. [/color][/size]

A sneer was formed upon her maw as she looked upon the human. 'You're commanding me to leave? Don't make me laugh. I can do as I wish. Besides, if I really wanted to hurt you, I could have done it ages ago.' Just to show that she could, she dissapeared in a swirl of black mass, reappearing behind him to snap at his cloak. [You were wearing one, weren't you? (OOC)] She dissapeared once again, returning to her origional spot, and smiled. 'Human, don't make me fight you. I don't... enjoy... Tearing people to bits. You are marvelous creatures. No tail to balance you, yet you walk on two legs. Besides, why should I kill you, when I can turn into you?' Once more the black matter swirled about her, and she appeared now a young girl, maybe fourteen, with livid green eyes and long, black hair. She had on a simple long-sleeve tnic that hugged her form, and a pair of pants, both of which were dyed black. A smile creeped onto her lips, and she waited for his response.

Melindonia nodded faintly, squeezing her eyes and letting the tears that had been wanting to trickle fall down her cheeks, yet not letting anymore surface. Her fingers still were clenched on Zach's pants, yet she became more confident as he spoke to the wolfess, commanding her not to underestimate him. She gasped softly when Zach drew his sword, she gazing at it in wonder and curiosity. She knew he'd protect her, and she trusted him to. But as she did so, she began to form in her mind on how she would repay him. She would owe him greatly, she told herself. The wolfess no longer was speaking in their minds, she noted, but was speaking aloud. This was nothing new to her, but it made the other even more intimidating to her.
Her gaze turned toward the wolfess, curious as to if the wolfess still was bent on being such a bother. She bit her lip when the wolf turned into thin air seemingly, and she stepped back, glancing around herself and saw the black accumulate into a solid form of the same wolfess behind Zach. "Move!" she shouted, faintly, pushing Zach with what effort she could from her already tired body. She hoped she had aided him to avoid the other's claws, and she watched as yet again the wolf vanished and appeared again before them. She was a bit surprised at herself, yet that vanished as the wolf spoke again and suddenly was now a human girl. She no longer knew what to expect. If the other didn't want to kill them... then what were her intentions? This bothered Melindonia, yet she didn't ask. She simply waited, curious yet afraid.

In the blink of an eye, the wolfess was behind him and he was startled by Mel's loud shout. He had placed a hand around her arm, draging her along with him, away from those evil jaws that could kill. Then once again in front, however no longer a wolf. Now he was staring at a small girl. He couldnt help but send his eyes into a small roll. 'You say you dont mean us harm, but you threaten us for no reason.' He snorted slightly then turned around towards his smaller companion. Bending down, he attempted to scoop her up, trying to hold her close so if something should happen and they were to run she wouldnt be left behind.
With the weight in his arms he looked over at their unwanted friend. 'Leave us alone.' He once again demanded, 'Do as you wish somehwere else. We have brought you no harm.' One hand still clutched the sword, a stream of electricity seeming to circle around it briefly.

The smile left her face, a mock frown taking its place. "Oh, come on, don't you know how to have a little fun?" She laughed, the smile returning. "Exactly, I know you have done me no harm, but what else am I supposed to do? I am shunned from all species, wolf, human, everything. You tell me where to go." A twinkle appeared in her eyes, almost as if she were having fun. "And, if magical weapons are going to become a part of this fight, I might as well draw mine... After all, it wouldn't be fair for me to fight you as a wing-ed [OOC: That's just how she pronounces it] wolf, now would it?" She stopped, a look of mixed curiosity and surprise crossing her face, her hand reaching for an invisible weapon. "Unless you don't intend to fight... I at first showed myself as an ordinary wolf, and, rather than threatening to kill you, I snapped at your cape, and came back...... What's your choice? Fight, or let me accompany you for a while?" Her smile returned, a small one, just showing a hint of its self as it played across her lips. She shrugged, and drew her weapon, as if from thin air. It was a sword, made from the burning black mass that had been seen before. She stuck it in the ground, the grass around it dying, and walked forward, stopping a short ways away.
"I did not ask to be like this, you know. I don't fit in with anyone. Living as a wolf would be fine, but others can sense the difference in me, and chase me away. I ask, once again, what should I do? You tell me, because I honestly don't know... If you wish to fight, we can fight, but that is your choice and yours alone. These powers I have-" she shot a glance at her sword that stood erect a few feet behind her. "Aren't always a blessing. They're a curse. They are what make me different. Those powers were meant to kill. Who should have to carry that?" She sighed, and stepped back.
"If you intend on fighting, take the first strike. I won't make the first move." She looked down at the ground, and back at the girl he now held. "Just one thing..." she whispered. The black mass swirled around her again, and she appeared closer than before, staring softly at the girl. She shook her head, and, seemingly furious, darted back to her sword, throwing herself to the ground. In one swift movement, she rolled, grabbed her sword, and ended in a crouching position, the sword held high over her head and one hand held out.
"Only a fair fight," she said, not bothering to raise her voice. She knew they were listening. All emotions that had been showed before suddenly dissapeared, and she waited to see what the adult human would do.

Melindonia was surprised when she realized she was now in the air... no she was in Zach's arms. The world looked different from where she now was positioned. She was unsure what she should do, but she didn't want to be a burden to Zach, that much she knew. She slowly wrapped her arms around Zach's neck as a small toddler might do when being held on their mother's hip. She watched the... girl that stood before them, glancing at Zach now and then. Ears twitched faintly with the words that the girl spoke, and she held her breath when the sword appeared, she surprised. She wished she could do something to help Zach, but nothing came to her young mind.
She could understand how the girl was shunned by both wolves and humans... but what she didn't understand is why she had taken the form of a monster, in Melindonia's eyes, to greet them in the first place. Perhaps she'd never know. When suddenly the other was staring at her she frowned, cowering backward against Zach but watching the other with angry, fearful eyes. She didn't know what Zach was going to do, she just wanted for the monster to go away. "Zach... is she going to stay?" she questioned softly, looking up at Zach. If Zach were to let this girl hang around, she would tolerate her, but it didn't stop the fact she was afraid because she had first seen this girl as the monster that she hated with all her heart.

He watched her move with a certain grace and state her thoughts. Feeling Melindonia grasp his neck for security, he continued to watch the demon like thing move closer, bounce away and grab her sword. He came to a sudden desicion, and with ease sheathed his sword, concealing it once again beneath the safety of his cloak. 'I will not fight you, but nor are you welcome in my home. Go ruin some one elses homecoming.' Prehaps it wasnt that she didnt fit in physically with the rest of the world, but they could feel her personality seep through. A rather demanding being that it would be just a waist of time to even bother conversing.
With that said, he began to walk, he would walk left then up making sure his good ear was towards her at all time, and was getting as much distance as possible between himself and whatever it was she called herself. She said she wouldnt attack first, and he would trust her on that.

The sword faded into nothingness, and she stood where she was, watching the man walk beside her. A downward glance was cast, and a mutter emitted. "Shunned again..." Yet, instead of frowning, a smile once more played its self across her lips, and she seemed to hug herself, tears threatening to fall, twinkling at the brims of her eyes. She did not mean to act the way she did, that was just how she was, but she would try again sometime, maybe with a different person, maybe with the same. She seated herself on the dirty floor and put her head in her hands. The only real reason that she acted like that was because of how she had been treated as a young one, and the fact that that was pretty much the only way she knew of getting a human to pay attention to her. An idea struck her, and she stood, quickly darting into a tree, climbing onto a branch that hung in front of the two. "I have one last proposition," she said, dropping down in front of them. She was in a kneeling position, although she looked up at the two, smiling. "You let me into your village, and I can live as a human, never again showing my powers, and you can say that you found me along the way. Or, I could turn back into a wolf and protect your village that way... As a normal wolf with no powers... OR, I could turn into a male human and live that way, working for you and your village... Unless you have a different idea?" Her smile broadened for a moment, and she found herself hoping that he would say yes with all her heart. "I apologize for my disrespect, and hope that you'll forgive me... Erm..." she wasn't very good at apologies, rarely gave them, and so let her voice trail off. She remained seated in front of them, head bowed and putting herself in a position to allow anything to come her way without her being able to stop it.

Melindonia remained silent, personally happy and satisfied enough with Zach's words. She was surprised however at how persistent the other was.. the wolf-turned-girl. Protect the villiage? Who was to say that later on she wouldn't betray them to her monster friends? Perhaps she was thinking and supposing too much, but her young mind feared to find out if her assumptions were true or not. Yet, she continud to stay silent, leaving it up to Zach. No matter what he said, no matter what the girl said, she didn't trust her, she had set her mind on that.
Her eyes fell to the ground, waiting patiently. She was beginning to droop off anyway, not really caring anymore except enough to know that she didn't want to have this.. girl.. around anymore. Her head fell against Zach's shoulder, she was drowsy, and in Zach's arms she felt especially tired, no longer having to stand up on her own. She wanted to just fall asleep, and it was getting harder and harder to stay awake.

He surpressed a growl as the thing appeared in front of him again. This was getting extermly old. He shifted the small angel girl in his arms, moving her into a more comfortable position. 'And why should I trust you?' He questioned, almost reading Mels thoughts. 'And do you think my people will allow such a creature like you to protect them?' He scoffed, 'You might as well go bother someone elses village. Now please, leave us alone. Ive got a family to go home to.'

She looked up at the man with an unnerving smile. "I'll leave, then, but don't think it's for good." With that she turned, leapt into the air, turning into her dark wolven form in mid-air. She leapt away, a cruel laugh echoing through the night. [Or day, whichever. I dunno.]

[glow=red,2,300]Justin ran, his heart pounding in his chest as he darted through the land, headed for a small area brimmed with bushes. He leapt over them, not seeing the wolf headed right towards him. He yelled out, "Woah!" and put his hands over his head in protection, and sticking his right foot out to send him to a skidding stop. He looked up to see the black wolf soar right by him, then he sighed and let his head thump onto the ground, before hearing a slight shuffling in front of him. He lifted his head to look forward, then jumped to his feet, stepping back and reaching for a sword that was not at his hip. He must have dropped it in the bushes. He stood, a little embarrassed, and dusted off his clothes. He was wearing a black tunic with a black long-sleeve undershirt, and black pants. He wasn't wearing any shoes, and as a result, had a few cuts on the bottom and sides of his feet. He looked down as he brushed off one of his arms, suddenly becoming self-concious about something. He quickly pulled his sleeves over his chafed wrists that were coated with blood, almost as if he had recently had his hands bound. He put the palm of his hand to the back of his head, laughing slightly. "Erm, hey... I'm not interrupting anything, am I?" He seemed nervous, even before he spotted the man holding the sword. He held up his hands in a gesture of peace. "I'm not looking for a fight if you're not..." A kind smile was given as if to reassure the man and the small girl.[/glow]
