"Damn straight, you big oaf," Navras replied privately to Erozyn, gritting his teeth as he tried to smile. He gave his attention back to the generous man. "Thanks a million, Jake, you're too kind," he said deeply. "We ought to get this young lady to this inn, you know, the one that you spoke of earlier, if you please." A bit impatient, he tried to keep his composure.
Navras then harkened to a soft noise from the girl. Indeed, it was so light and distant, that he hardly heard her at all, but it was just that very slight noise amidst the bustle that caused him to turn his head. "Sorry, err... did you say something?"

The great dragon bowed his head towards their benefactor, saying, “Much obliged, Jake.” He thought he heard the girl’s name, but did not want to make a mistake by blurting it out, in case he was incorrect. Instead, Ero, feeling superfluous, stated, “I think I shall go find a meal, now. Don’t wait for me; I’ll be back before dark.” With that, he unfurled his mighty wings and pushed off into the waiting air, soaring away to where he knew he could find prey.oOc| bleh...blocked x.x;

(I just now noticed, Jake said barn, not Inn. xD Sorry, didn't give you guys much responding choices. ;>>)
Jake put a hand softly on Tahris's shoulder and despite having gotten used to another's nearby presence in the few moments she had been introduced to the three, gave a slight jump at his touch. Tahris's gaze was surprisingly elivated, causing the shadows to slip away from her blue eyes and give more view to her facial features to those standing at the right angles.
"You need to speak up dear." Jake said simply, giving her a kind smile. Tahris's surprised slowly ebbed away as she began to understand that this situation wasn't to be handled as she was constantly reacting. Although she did let out a surprised yell when she felt Jake's arms around her waist, lifting her up to place her into the saddle of his horse. He didn't expect a girl in her condition, as Navras had pointed out, to walk on her own. "Though I do believe I heard the name, Tahris? Is that right?"
Tahris was kept busy from responding for a moment by trying to calm the nervous horse that was suddenly threatening to buck beneath her. As Erozyn took to the sky at about the same moment, it was perfectly understandable as to why the horse was behaving so. Jake got ready to pull in the reigns to try and hold back the beast when the horse suddenly calmed. He snorted once before standing solemnly, with Tahris leaning forward in the saddle to hum a soft tune into his ear, softly patting it's neck.
"By thunder, you certainly are well with these beasts." Jake gave Erozyn a hearty wave as the dragon moved through the air. "May you have a good hunt! Now then..." He returned his attention to the girl that was still leaning forward in the saddle, her hood pulled lower than ever over her eyes while Jake scratched his head in wonder before sighing and giving a shrug.
"Tahris was it?" He smiled when she gave a responsive nod, which set the small folds of her hood to sway. "Right then, this way now."
Jake pulled the reigns lightly in his hand, which caused the horse to carefully pick it's way around the oversized rocks on the road as it steadily increased the speed at which it moved as it became more confident about it's path.
---------------
(I suppose some time later? Or, eventually they shall see... xD )
Near the edge of the town where the houses and buildings were thin and farther spaced, sat a quaint little house that Jake had called home for many years. The basic foundation of the building was made up of stone brick, while a second level was covered over in dark wood that gave it a decorative aged effect. Smoke was rising from a stone chimney on one side while a woman stood on the opposite side of the house, taking an oversized paddle and beating the dirt from an old rug that hung from a line. It was a small house however, despite having a second floor, but it was sufficient for the amount of people that it sheltered.
Behind the house, almost hidden, was a dark, rusty brown barn where most likely most of the assorted animals were kept when they weren't out and about in the fenced in yard areas. It was much larger than the house and despite being a place that animals normally borded, didn't look at all in disrepair or shabby.

OOC: Oh! Oops, sorry. Barn. XD
Navras was left standing on the road as Tahris was being led to the place of which they were to stay. Feeling offended to being forgotten, he grudgingly following the two behind, grumbling to himself threats to Jake. It was just not his day, and he vowed quiet revenge. A kind of jealousy was rising to the surface also, as this Jake took over the responsibility of the young lady, for Navras had everything under control until that fool butted in.
His jealous rage soon subsided once they reached the down-to- earth abode, and he nodded impassively in acknowledgement of the place.

The dragon swooped across the land; some inhabitants looked up in wonder, others barely batted an eye. In the land of the giants, one gets used to certain creatures of the land. Erozyn paid as little attention the humans below him as they did to him. He focused only on his prey.
He landed in the nearby forest, its shadows working well to conceal him. His dark scales blended in with the shade of the trees quite well, and he was silent as he sneaked between the trees. Even such a large predator as he could hide effectively. And so he did, lurking in the forest, keeping his sharp eyes out for prey.
Unlike many dragons, he did not flame his prey. That was too easy; it took all the fun out of hunting. He preferred the “old-fangled” way, as he called it. Single out his prey—observe the limping doe—wait silently until it gets close—now—spring, and chase—
He burst from his hiding place, terrifying the doe out of her senses. She ran, but she did not get far. Ero’s superior size and speed caught up with her, grabbing her, killing her with one smooth motion of his claw across her throat—the deed was done. He feasted well.
Then, in the spirit of goodwill, the sated dragon went hunting again. This time to fight. He found a young, arrogant, male boar and grinned. He loved taking them down. They fought, the boar squealing and jabbing and charging, but it was no match for the mighty dragon. Ero had an exhilarating time, but finally ended the boar’s fight by breaking its neck. Then he took it up and flew back to where he had left Navras, Tahris, and Jake.
“I bring meat to you, that will hopefully last you some time,” the dragon announced when he landed, extending the carcass before them. “In return for your hospitality.”

Jake's grin lit up more so than the smile had already done when his gaze moved in the direction from which a steady whacking sound was coming from. The woman who was cleaning out the rug was too busy with what she was doing to notice anything, especially the certain visitors that were approaching her house. From the looks of her age, it could be assumed that this woman was none other than Jake's own wife.
Jake pulled the reigns of his horse in hand and started to lead the animal towards the barn, leading them all to the large doors and swinging one open by using a small amount of strength. The sound of the large entrance creaking however, caught the woman's attention at once.
"Jake Tailor!!" Her yell sliced easily across the yard to where they stood, causing the well aged man to wince, though he smiled and winked at his company. "I'll take care of this, you all head inside and rest up."
The man had quickly turned to face his wife with arms wide open in an offering of peace. The woman, whose sweet appearance had been decieving in hiding such a shrill voice, repremanded her husband as she demanded to know just what in hell he was doing.
Tahris, sitting in confusion atop a somber animal, stayed where she was atop the saddle, watching the scene between Jake and the woman with hidden curiosity. As voices rose and fell from the couple, her nerves stood on end as suddenly she picked out a new, foreign sound. Instantly she was out of the saddle and gone behind the door of the barn with nary a word. The poor horse that she had been riding was even left in speechless surprise, giving only a simple snort as he looked with wide eyes at Navras.
The noise that Tahris had heard however, was none other than Erozyn returning from his hunt. The horse, now somewhat used to the presence of the dragon, only hesitated a moment before trotting into the barn after his previous rider, in hope that the beast he feared wouldn't bother him.
The inside of the large barn were simple, with wooden columns lining each side for suppor with a rafter above to hold in the hay loft. The dead grass was in control of most of the barn, covering the floors in great bales and piled stacks near the walls. Only a small section on the other side of the barn had places along the wall fenced of with a few wooden beams where animals could doze and lay. However, the area was vacant of anything. Tahris was nowhere within a visible sight.

Navras brooded, his arms folded stoically as he followed Jake in slow paces, but halted by the horse that Tahris was riding. He found the silence awkward, but found that nothing could be said between him and Tahris at this point, thus he stood, slightly hunched, biting boredly at his cheek, wanting that dragon to return soon so that he wouldn't be alone with these people any longer.
Soon he got his wish, to which Navras promptly stated, "About damn time you showed up--holy hell, did you have to get blood on me?" he growled, gathering up his garments to examine the bits of blooded spots that had rained down upon him as Erozyn came into a landing. "Well done nonetheless, I'm starving. Hey... wait, wasn't that girl just here?" he inquired stupidly, turning his head to see no Tahris atop a horse's back. At the corner of his eye, he could have sworn that he saw a flash of feet dissapear in running motions inside of Jake's barn.
"Smooth move, Ero," he muttered sarcastically, thumping the dragon's head with his hand. "S'pose we should just leave her. She's more skiddish than a pansy baby dragon. But she's very interesting, wish I knew her more..."
He said his last few words a bit vaguely, his eyes moving in various directions aimlessly as if in deep thought. "Hey, Ero, if you wanna just give the... err... our host the boar, I'll try to see if I can calm the girl down. I'll come back in later to thank this host of ours properly."
He realized that he had forgotten her name. He was never good with names, taking usually days to get a person's name right.
With that, Navras moseyed towards the barn with gentle movements, releasing soft humming noises to let Tahris know that he was approaching. He walked through the threshold, and was immediately greeted by the whiff of a very faint horse smell, and other odors that he had never had been graced to sniff before. At least they weren't too powerful.
"Well. This isn't the royal kingdom of Arilnor," he said mildly, though obviously sarcastic. "It'll do." Taking the liberty to take a pitchfork, he'd make straw beds for himself, the girl, but decided that maybe Erozyn would rather sleep outside or elsewhere. All the while, he kept a sharp eye for Tahris. He decided to let her come out of her shell if she chose. Navras wasn't entirely sure how to handle the situation, but he supposed that if he made a nice comfortable straw bed for her, somewhere in a cozy dark niche, she'd want to rest on it.

As the dragon coasted down for a landing, he didn’t realize that some red flecks from the killed boar were dropping all over Navras. Well, the arrogant human deserved it anyhow. Erozyn briefly set the animal down to retaliate, “As though you would know anything about smooth moves…” He grinned a dragon grin, all his bloodied teeth glimmering faintly. “Her name is Tahris, you bearbrain.” Ero knew how to read his companion.
As the dragon moved away, picking the boar back up, he swung his tail that would lightly knock Navras on the head if Navras was still there. Ero moved up to where Jake was conferring with a woman who was apparently his missus, and hung back briefly to wait for them to finish their conversation. Once they were done, he politely sauntered forth, bowing his head to each. He gently set the boar before them.
“This is simply a gift in return for your generosity, sir and missus,” Ero said courteously, easily a hundred times more polite than Navras was. “I do hope you accept it, for we are very grateful for your hospitality. How do you do, ma’am,” the dragon added personally to Jake’s wife, dipping his head in the universal sign of greeting. “I am called Erozyn, or Ero for short.”

If Erozyn were such a dragon to listen in on people's conversations, he may have heard quite a fuss going on between Jake and his wife; who, in Jake's attempts to assure her of the situation, he would realise was named Lily.
The 'discussion' between husband and wife ended with Jake laughing nervously and Lily giving him a glare that may have well been stolen from one of the most dangerous creatures to reside in the forest. However, her mood changed quickly when Erozyn was kind enough to introduce himself, as she wasn't one to be mad at guests in her care, whether or not she was prepared for them due to her husband's over hospitality and lack of forewarnings. Instead of showing Erozyn the same mood swing she had thrown at Jake, she clapped her hands together around the wooden paddle and gave the dragon a kind smile.
"Ah, I must thank you then for such a generous gift, though I tell you now that I won't accept anything more. Generosity is not something you owe with a favor..." She looked down at the boar as Jake began to lug it around to a shed, where in later he would most likely cut it up for a fine meal. He gave them both a wave before disappearing around the side of the house. "...or gifts."
At Erozyn's greeting, Lily bowed her own head. "Though since you've already gone through the trouble of it, we very much appreciate it...Erozyn was it? My name is Lily. My oaf of a husband has managed to tell me at least your names and a little more. This is the least we can do for what you and your friends did in the village." She gave him a sweet smile before turning to go into the house. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a few chores to do. If you don't mind also, tell your friends I'll bring them a meal in a bit if they're hungry..." and with that she was walking up the small porch and into the house itself to most likely prepare something for her guests. If it was a surprise to anyone that such a woman could be so formal with a guest as unique as Erozyn, it may have been noticeable from her argument with Jake and instant acceptance of her sudden guests that something like this had obviously occured more than once before.
It was a few moments after Navras had entered before there was a rustling of hay as it was moved about. If Navras hadn't been paying attention, then it would have appeared as though Tahris were suddenly just there, maybe because her steps had been so quiet, standing with a hand laying on the side of one of the haystacks along the floor. Her other hand was noticeably playing with the hood of her cloak, which was, despite them now being in a type of shelter, pulled firmly over her eyes in it's usual fashion.
"Uhm..." A voice stuttered softly, though she was trying her best to make herself heard, "That was, your friend....Erozyn?" She seemed to lower her hood as her gaze fell to the floor. If there had not been a cloak there to cover her face, Navras might have noticed a slight red hue along her cheeks from embarassment. Not that her mood couldn't be caught in the reserved way she was acting.
"It was, right?" Her head then picked up a little, both hands coming together as she fiddled with a small strap that hung down from the cloak's latch. For what was probably the first time since she had met them, a larger portion of her face came into view as the shadows of her hood moved away. Possibly the most noticeable feature of her face were her piercing blue eyes, the blue contrasting with the brown of her hood made them stand out easily beneath two thin brows that were currently drawn together in an expression of worry. She seemed eager and nervous at the same time to know for sure if what had caused her sudden flight inside the barn was in fact his dragon companion.

Navras stood up straight so suddenly that his back made an audible crack sound. Feeling embarassed himself, he rubbed his spine gingerly and let loose a broad grin to Tahris that finally came out.
"Oh, uh... heh. Yes, that would be my friend, Erozyn. He can be a bit overbearing at times, but not as overbearing as myself, unfortunately I have to admit. He's a gentle giant, believe me. He didn't mean to scare ya. The only time he's ever really nasty is if he has to face those terrible giants. At least... they're only ever terrible if they come here, trying to destroy our city and all. Sometimes I even wonder if it's a good idea to plant a city of humans in the world of giants."
Navras leaned his head against the pitchfork, as if trying to get comfortable, but as he was grinning stupidly at Tahris, he felt his weight leaning in too far on it and he felt himself starting to fall. He released a yelp as he fell face-first into the lose bits of straw that he was piling together. Thank goodness his face was muffled, because he promptly began issuing curse words that would make a sailor blush.
Reappearing from the straw, his face looked completely red and mortified.

Erozyn bowed his head. “It was no trouble at all, Miss Lily. It is a pleasure to make the acquaintance of such a good and lovely hostess. Do not be so hard on Jake, either,” he added, giving his strange dragon-smile. “We are grateful to him too for his generosity. Even if my friend Navras doesn’t show it; if he complains, as he is wont to do, you mustn’t think he is rejecting your hospitality. He is simply being rude and crude, as it is in his character. In all the time I’ve known him, I haven’t managed to change him even the slightest bit.”
Ero flicked his great tail and bobbed his head as the woman went in to do chores. “Of course, Lily. Please take your time.” With that, the dragon turned, his three pairs of legs moving his snakelike body with ease. He walked over to the barn, where he smelled Navras (very distinctly). Poking his great head in, unaware of the fright the girl Tahris might react with, Ero bellowed softly, “Navras, I want you to clean yourself as soon as you get a chance. You smell almost as bad as the horses, and we can’t have that stench filling up the house of our hosts. They’d kick us out before you could say ‘bath.’”

Tahris's worry was quickly replaced with a puzzled expression, and hand slightly raised towards Navras as though she were hesitating about helping him up. She had also taken a small step towards him, but found it hard to approach him, as she was not the type of person to willingly go near despite them having all introduce themselves to one another.
Upon Navras's further actions, Tahris couldn't help but pull her hood lower, hands covering her mouth to prohibit a small sound from escaping. Despite her efforts however, it was obvious that Navras had managed to set her into a fit of laughter.
Upon Erozyn's arrival however, her silent laughter was stopped short when she gasped with surprise. She hadn't expected his entrance so soon. Before Erozyn had managed to finish his sentence, Tahris had whipped around to see who it was that had called out. She was relieved to see that is was none other than Erozyn, but her quick movements to confirm that had caused the friction of the hay to slip away from the floor. She let loose a surprised yell and fell back into the pile of hay that had luckily been behind her.
Tahris let out a sigh and sat up, brushing away the caught straws when she froze, noticing the lack of a certain soft weight on her head. In her short fall, the hood she rarely took away had fallen back to her shoulders. Tahris yelled and quickly grabbed the hood's fabric and pulled it back onto her head, sitting there quietly with her eyes clamped shut and her hands still clutching the cloak's hood. She had pulled it up fast enough...but for the time that it had been down was enough for anyone within view to catch a view of the two silver horns that protruded from her light hair.

Navras couldn't help but to smile as Tahris fell over, but his smile dissapeared as quickly as it came as he spotted her two intriguing horns. "Whats...?"
Before he could inquire, his dragon companion made his entrance. Navras grumbled. "Shut up, and don't contradict yourself, Ero, you big oaf whose breath and hide always smells terrible," he replied, picking himself up with the pitchfork "I probably smell because I was riding you earlier."
With that being said, Navras stood up and dusted himself off wryly. "Don't you worry about me, Ero. Tell them thanks from me... and this young lady..." Once again, he forgot the poor lass's name. As aforementioned, Navras was terrible with names. It took him a few tries to get anything right. Then it clicked. "Tahris," he grinned, remembering her falling over. He suppose he was glad, because he didn't have to be singled out as the fool, not that he considered Tahris a fool at all.
Moseying over to a water-filled barrel whose top was off, Navras promptly began to clean his face. A greying towel was hung over a nail on top of it. He took it and thus cleaned his face, as well as his hands.
"Am I more presentable now?" he spoke sarcastically. "Not that a dragon should know anything about looks."

Erozyn let out a soft snort of surprise when the girl was so startled that she fell over. “Oh, terribly sorry,” Ero said courteously. “Didn’t mean to be so sudden.” He turned his long serpentine neck over towards Navras, his big nostrils flaring as he took in the human’s scent. “There is something about human males,” Ero grumped. “How they make such a stench is unbelievable…my sensitive nose and I would die if I were forced to share a room with more than one.” He rolled his eyes over at Tahris. “Miss Tahris, has he been bothering you? If he has, I shall gladly burn him into a pile of ashes. It would smell better,” the dragon added, with a glint of wry pleasure in his piercing blue-green eyes.
A dragon misses very little, and Ero beheld the girl’s strange silver horns before she had a chance to cover them up again. But this particular dragon had a very good social aptitude, so deigned to comment on his observation, or even give any sign that he had noticed them. Instead, he lolled his head over towards Navras again. “Yes, Navras, you look fine, but no amount of washing and scrubbing is ever going to eradicate your, hem…surly, displeasing character.” Ero flashed a quick smirk at the man, then pulled his head back a little.
“Our gracious hostress, Lily, wishes me to tell you that she’s coming out to bring out a warm meal for you, if you should desire it. Keep that tart tongue firmly in your head, and use it only for eating,” Ero added with mock sternness towards Navras.

Tahris kept her eyes shut and her hood tight over her head, even as the two kept on their everlasting argument. It took her a moment to realise that nothing had been said about the strange appendages that had been revealed by her fallen hood. Though she had caught Navras' momentary faltering question, she also noticed that he had simply continued bickering with his dragon companion. She slowly opened her eyes and carefully released her hold on the fabric, cautiously lowering her hands and giving both Navras and Erozyn a curious look. Had they even noticed at all? Surely the silver sheen would have caught some attention, even but for a split second...
She unconciously placed her left hand near the bottom of her neck, near where the odd metallic ring was set, and rubbed it due to an unbreakable habit.
It had always happened that way in the past...
Her current train of thought left her simply staring into the empty space of the hay strewn ground, the girl paying no attention at all to anything that the other two were saying. She continued to rub at the band around her neck when she suddenly pulled her hand away and let loose a pained yelp. She sat on the pile of hay, quietly staring at her fingers with a stunned expression, not really knowing herself quite what had occured. Though her daze was soon replaced by fear as her mind unclouded from it's momentary shock.
