Because I love you guys and what not, Im just going to be putting up a small wedding update for yous. This one is all the music that will be played during the ceremony. Now those of you unfamiliar with the Catholic Chruch and its ceremonies, we don't believe in having any recorded music because we just feel its "praying twice" when we sing in real life and not just listen to it. Anyways, during my wedding I hired just one vocalist and one pianist. And the list of songs we have gathered are such.
Alright, the music for the church is all set up and ready for action. We have one soloist and one pianist
Before the wedding: Classical Music
Procession of the Bridal Party- Jesu, Joy of mans desiring www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNdjML2kquc
Procession of the Bride: Joyful Joyful www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNdjML2kquc
Responsorial Psalm-Loving and Forgiving www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWtS0xg97CU
Preparation of the Gifts – Instrumental
Communion – One Bread one Body www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6xIdDYiA9A
Recessional - Traditional Bridal Chorus www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUV8Vu_m_mg
It would be an understatement to say that tears were slowly seeping down my cheeks when I was listening to all the songs.
I refused to do the traditional bridal march for the Brides walk up the asile because I really dont like it. It sound clunky and with the atmosphere I had set with the Bridal party, I didn't want it to be suddenly: OMG FREAK OUT BRIDE! I wanted a slight fanfare but nothing so over the top it seems gawdy. Anyways. Thats the music for the wedding.
The reception is a completely different story. Mwahhahahahh. What usually happens is the bridesmaids and groomsmen are introduced before the Bride and Groom. So our DJ normally does this: he plays each person a snippette of a song that we chose before hand that reminds us of our bridal party. So....
Groomsmen songs:
Justin- Im still a Guy (Country fan all the way, this was one of his favorite songs to sing in the car)
Ethan-Pokemon Theme Song (He's an anime nerd, we can't help it.)
Josh- The Safety Dance (For some reason he got addicted to this song after watching an episode of Futurama. So every time I hear this song I always think of Him.)
George- (We don't know yet. He's a money mizer and a computer/techy junkie. Any help would be greatly appreciated)
Matt- Redneck Yacht Club (Matt is a rich hick, need i say more?)
Bridesmaids:
Torrie - All the small things (Sister, Nate often makes fun of her for only being 5'2)
Jessie-?(My sister is a person always on the move and a real people person. Once again some help with songs would be great)
Natalie- My Humps (Inside joke, but my friend can rock out like no tomorrow)
Kyrsten- Like a virgin (At a bachlerette party one of the things we had to do was sing like a virgin, Kyrsten sung hers right out in the middle of a crowded parking lot.)
Rachel- Appologise (A week before her wedding, she kept appologising for things that she couldnt control such as traffic. Well I got so tired of it that every time she appologised I broke out in this song. Needless to say I didn't stop until after the wedding was over XD)
Other songs:
First Dance: When you say you love me by Josh Groban (prior to the wedding, the DJ is going to record us saying our vows. When we get out there to dance for the first time he's going to loop the first instrumental part of the song and then have our vows recorded over it.)
Father Daughter Dance: Tough Litttle Boys, Brad Piasley (though this could change)
Bouquette Toss: It's Raining Men, The Weather Girls
Garter Toss: I'm too Sexy, Right said Fred
