OMG SHINKOU OOKAMI IS GOING TO HAVE A MYTHOLOGY! It is now called the 'Etanian' mythology, after the creator god Etanus. Post your ideas for Shinkou gods here :3 Rules - you better read them because they're important - Everyone is eligible to take part in creating a Shinkou god. If you have first dibs on what the non-playable character is god of, nobody else can create that type of god.
- Be careful what you place dibs on. If someone has a god of Fire, you cannot have a god of Flame or Heat because technically Fire does all aspects of heat and flame and burning. As of now it's really hard to place dibs on a god because all the goods ones have been taken. If you want a god of Heat, ask the person that made the god of Fire if it is okay that you can make a god of Heat.
- Make sure you read the list of all the gods that have already been taken.
- Please don't argue, if someone calls a god first, don't pout. Also, users are allowed 5 gods at a time so that others may have a chance at creating one. MADE UP NAMES FOR GODS ARE ENCOURAGED!
- Keep in mind that this is a GROUP EFFORT and everyone is encouraged to help each other out and give ideas in creating our gods. Understand that the god you make does not belong to you entirely, the only credit you get in creating the god is just that--the ideas you come up for it, and the fact that you made it. This is because everyone started referencing the gods via roleplay, and also, we won't be roleplaying them anyway.
- Wom's Note: Gods are not a strict religion on Shinkou Ookami. They only exist as an idea (like through word of mouth or through stories) by our characters. Gods are never ever seen in roleplay. There is no proof of their existence. But they live through stories and beliefs that creatures have in them. Thus they are NPCs (Non-playable Characters) and can never be roleplayed as an actual character and are not allowed to be used in any kind of plot. However they can be referenced, for example: "Hey, I saw a strange bear the other day, kinda looked like the god of strength." "Seriously? No way! He's not real!"
SO gods are generally NORMAL animals, that wear elaborate masks or something. This way they can be 'seen/heard/sighted' in roleplay without actually being there. A very, very rough sketch I made for god of the night as example: i50.tinypic.com/21ls4sh.png
- NEW RULE!!!! NO MORE WOLF GODS, HORSE GODS, DRAGON GODS, OR BIRD GODS ARE ALLOWED TO BE MADE. Okay I MAY allow bird gods since the species DO vary, but if I ask you to change it, please consider doing so! We have a bunch of those and the repetition gets boring after a while. Please consider doing other animals, we have yet to have monkey gods (omg someone PLEASE make a monkey god! n.n), and any aquatic animals like dolphins or whales. Insects would be cool too, but refrain from doing a butterfly since there is already a butterfly god.
- The deadline for the completion of the ALL THE GODS is September 30th. If you don't complete your profiles by then, the information will be PMed to you, then the profile on this board will be deleted.
- There are far too many white-colored gods. x.X Variety is important! Please consider coming up with a god that varies in color... they don't have to be ridiculous colors if you don't want them to be... xD But I counted and there's more than 10 gods that are pure white.

The information provided is subject to change-- Name: Manu, the God of Death, Afterlife, and Mortality Other names: The White Raven, Ghost bird, The soul collector, Soul reaper, Death Abilities: Said to have the ability to duplicate himself in an infinite number. He has the ability to gather up the souls of the dead into his beak, and travel between dimensions. He takes the souls to the spirit world where it is said that the god of Judgment will decide who shall be reincarnated (this is where Karasis comes in), sent to the underworld for punishment (Hetis), or ascend to a realm where they may live forever (or a kind of haven, or heaven, for souls. Creator's realm). (Pending) Personality: Said to being a very cynical bird that rarely speaks, but when it does, is heard with having multiple voices that belongs to those that have passed away. It is said that it caws thrice before taking a soul. Appearance: A large white raven whose eyes glow bright red when it carries a soul, otherwise it is hollow, black, and empty when it harbors no souls. A silver elaborate mask adorns his face. Said to be genderless, but is often referred to as a "he" or an "it". Much larger than a normal raven, he could be mistaken to as a bird of prey rather than a lowly forager, but this is to show off his status among his kin that he is no ordinary bird. He is said to looking quite old and ugly. Story: In the beginning, Manu was created by Etanus for the purpose of going about the world, make the living succumb to death, and then collect their souls and carry them to their final resting place. Manu harbors no regrets and carries out his purpose relentlessly, and is constantly struggling for the right to end a life and take a soul of the dead when his counterpart, Karasis, the god of Life, hinders his efforts. Another nemesis of his is the god of Agony. Despite Manu's cynical and rather dispassionate nature towards the living, he harbors sadness when he sees the God of Agony carry out his deeds. "An ending to a person's life should be swift and painless," he would tell his foe, but Agony would only laugh mockingly and continue making the living suffer before the white bird comes to instantly end a life. Stories say that Manu can be felt when there is a sudden chill. Misc: Stories say that during the Fall, Manu becomes most active in his harassment of mortals--and is said he delights in the delicacy of children. So on October 31st, parents encourage children to dress up into something scary to frighten away Manu, or else he'll come to gobble them up or spirit them away and trap their souls forever. Children may create elaborate masks out of branches and leaves or other things to create a scary effect. Parents may enjoy the festivities as well, but it is most notable as a children's game. Also, much of the foraging animals (mostly birds) such as crows, ravens, and buzzards look to Manu for wisdom since they deal a lot with the dead.
Name: Chutra, Goddess of Winter Other names: Snow-bringer, Queen of Winter God of: Winter Abilities: To bring Winter. Personality: Said to be fierce and cruel, which is why she reigns the relentless winter. When gentle and benign, she causes drifting snow, but in anger she causes a blizzard. Said to live in the high mountains. Demands an idol in her honor. Appearance: An entity said to take the form of a giant female polar bear with icy blue eyes that glow, and no pupils. She wears an ornate crown of icicles on her head and a mask of ice crystals. It is said that she continuously travels, always bringing Winter with her. Story: Chutra felt lonely in her cold empire and desired to have a companion to ease her loneliness. Thus came Shromathan the dragon, and Chutra fell in love with him. She granted him the power to shift in form as a polar bear so that they can mate, and so that he can be with her forever, bestowed to him the power of Ice. The minor goddess Frost is the product of their love. Misc: The first day of Winter is celebrated in her name, in hopes that she brings a calm Winter and no storms. That day is known as "The Chutra Solstice" (December 21st). A gathering of stones may be placed in front of dens and remain there for five days and end on December 25th in honor of the Winter Goddess. The 25th is known as Chutra Gift-day, and is especially fun for children (whelps). Gifts must be sought and given to friends or families. If there is much joy and happiness during this time, it is said that Chutra will pass quietly as Winter commences. It is also tradition to pray to the goddess of hope, Lunai, to speak to Winter and calm her wintry rage.
Name: Hetis, God of the Underworld, Evil, Chaos, and Darkness Other names: N/A God of: The Underworld, Evil, Chaos, and Darkness Abilities: Master at disguises, deception, and seduction. It is said that Hetis approaches an unwary person but cannot be seen, and attempts to seduce them into committing immoral things. Personality: Good with words, he can try to persuade creatures to do anything he wants them to do. Appearance: A creature of deceit, he has the ability to shift in form. Whatever form he takes, it is said that he is the most attractive creature ever seen. His true form is a tall and attractive, ornately clothed wolfman god wielding a mask of a human's face and a sword far too enormous and heavy for a normal man to carry. It is said that with one fell swoop, the sword can destroy thousands. Legends say that this sword, Bilgrif, was created by Hetis as he poured his malice and hatred into it. Story: Hetis's story is actually one of the more mysterious ones, for there are so many stories circulating how Hetis came to be. Some say that he was a human that killed a wolf and stole it's fur and became a wolfman, setting out to commit terrible deeds. Another states that it was a wolf that killed a man and took his head, which is why he always adorns a mask of a human's face. One of the most well-known and widely accepted belief was that Etanus contained the knowledge of great power and evil in one of his antlers. A man in his vain and arrogance desired nothing more in the world than to gain power, but knew not of the evil and corruption that came from it. So he took up his knife and sought the great god of all things. And when he found him, Etanus was sleeping peacefully on a high mountain. The man took up his knife and cut off the one piece of antler that held great power, but in doing so, he immediately saw such secrets of the world that no mortal ever knew about. Etanus woke up and saw what the human mortal had done, and said with rage, "O arrogant, human fool! Look at what you have done, and now you have cursed your soul!" When he was about to strike the fearful human down, Etanus pulled back with pity and said, "I love all of my creation, and I do not kill. Instead I shall send you to the Underworld where you shall eternally make atonement for your actions." The piece of antler melted into the human's hands, and since then he was named 'Hetis', which in those days meant 'Evil One'. He became the Wolfman, who sprouted wings like a dragon's and had to bear the weight of his old human's face which hardened into a mask. He was a god, but not a good god, and an unfortunate creation of Etanus. But Etanus kept a watchful eye on Hetis, and still loved him as he did all things. When he came to the Underworld, which was his eternal kingdom, and certainly not a pleasant one, he cried out in his anger and cursed Etanus's name and vowed vengeance. While he was consumed by raw anger, anguish, insanity, and agony, the emotions were far too great to handle so Hetis created powerful entities that manifested his feelings; the god of Agony, Insanity, Wrath, and Vengeance. Hetis said to them, "Go forth then and tell the world of Etanus's creation of what I will wrought." Etanus saw what Hetis had done and tried to squander these creations of evil, but it was too late. The world had known violence and anger and all the great evils that Etanus had tried to contain in his antler. The good god went to Hetis's realm and said, "Look what you have brought unto the world I have made," he said sadly."When they die, they shall be brought to the Valley of Lost Souls in Akunikai to await Tsuin Kihaku's judgment, and those that are deemed unworthy in my sight will be your burden for eternity." Hetis had since lived with bitter resentment to Etanus, but being eternally contained in the Underworld, there was very little for him to do. Thus there is a legend that the demons that roam the earth were made by his hands, and they live to serve and carry out his purpose. Not very many demons believe in this, only because many of them refuse to be related to anything evil, but it is widely believed by various cultures around the world which is why so many demons are prejudiced against today. Misc: n/a
Name: Itukka, God of Thunder Other names: God of: Thunder Abilities: Can create electricity and cast thunder from the heavens. Personality: A violent god with no mercy, and hard to appease. Appearance: Itukka is said to be a black bull with strange blue and gold markings that shine as if light were emitted from them. Said that he can travel as lightning bolts. Also he can change sizes at will, but is usually depicted as a giant. It is said that during a thunder storm, creatures can hear Itukka howl with rage as he races across the heavens, his enormous winged hooves and horns creating storms. Said to have a legion of thunder-birds at his stead. Story: This malevolent, arrogant god is in love with the goddess, Seranthia. During a storm, if Seranthia passes through, Itukka will chase after her with his incredible speed, but Seranthia always manages to escape his clutches by merely blowing right through him. Persistent, he will stop at nothing to make the wind goddess his mate. Misc: During a thunder storm, it is usually a most dangerous time unless one is sheltered. To be appeased and discontinue raging, Itukka is said to demand the burning of redwood and sage in his honor. This could take place with a gathering of the whole pack to create a bonfire, or just families in their dens. Often families will pray to the god of Fear, Kai, and ask that their fears be abated.
Name: Lunele, Goddess of the Moon Other names: The Great Moon Spirit, Lantern of the Night Goddess of: Moon Abilities: Guardian of the light of the moon, also helps shed light Personality: In the stories, they say that Lunele was a very intelligent, watchful creature, and what better creature was there to watch over the dark world and keep Tahdrae from making the many creatures lose their way in the night. Appearance: A beautiful female Elf owl (world's smallest owl), adorning a simple mask of silver. One of her eyes is yellow while the other is white. The white eye has no pupil. Story: The stars were too dim to give natural light to the creatures of earth. So Etanus molded from one of his feathers the First Owl named Lunele, a female owl. Then Etanus gave her one of his eyes, a shining white eye, so that she can sail the night sky and shed light, which is the Moon. She is also said to be great companions with Unbera, the God of the Night, and also helps him to see through the night. Unfortunately her power is limited, so her eyes open and closes (waxes and wans) every month so she could rest. She sleeps on the night of the new moon, and begins to wake up the following day. Misc: Many owls revere her as the Mother Owl of all owls, since she was the First. They often invoke her name during the full moon and ask for her blessing for future generations. Other creatures, especially wolves, revere her as the light-giver of night, and thank her for being able to see through the darkness. Lunele loves music, and is said to shine brightly for the creatures who sing her name in praise and worship.
Name: Beos Other names: The Mountain King, Lord of Stone, Titan of Earth God of: Mountains, Stones, and Earthquakes Abilities: Said to be able to push mountains and shape them, and can pick up the heaviest of boulders. Can also cause earthquakes by walking, or shifting the many great boulders beneath the earth's surface. Personality: Very fierce and territorial by nature, he is known to being bitter enemies with Itukka the Thunder God and others. He is unforgiving. Appearance: A great and strong ape that is said to being a giant. Donning a mask of stone and gemstones, he is said to looking regal and fierce, a true lord of mountains. Story: When Etanus saw that the soft earth was good, he desired to see structures that rose to the sky. So Beos was born from the Creator's backbone, and the giant ape shaped from the sand and dirt a very hard stone. He continued to build and build until a vast mountain was seen. Etanus was so pleased by this that he allowed Beos to be ruler of all mountains and stones, and to shape them as he saw fit. Stories of Beos tell of how he is a solitary ape that preferred to be alone in his mountain and bask in the many precious gemstones he created. There were many that tried to obtain his treasures, but the jealous god made his whole mountain quake and crumble, causing anyone to perish. Misc: N/A

Name: Iwai Other names: The Festive God, Bringer of Joy God of: Festivity Abilities: It's said that any enjoyable festival or party has been visited by Iwai. His very prescence is said to fill every party-goer with a feeling of amusement and relaxation. Such is a blessing, and those who pay homage to Iwai usually set a large portion of food aside in the hopes of drawing the God of Festivity's attention to their soiree. Personality: Iwai is said to be a pleasant god. Aside from the effect he has on mortals, he treats his immortal life as one constant gala, spreading his own joy to the world. Appearance: The God of Festivity is always depicted as a centaur with copper colored hair and pelt. With green eyes and a neatly trimmed beard, Iwai's head is always crowned with an ornate golden head-band. Upon that band is a lavish array of symbols, each depicting a different time of celebration. It is said that if a mortal were to touch Iwai's headband, they would be flooded with overwhelming feelings of bliss and rapture. History: Coming Soon Misc: In the hopes of attracting Iwai's attention, believers always lay out a spread of food for the god at any celebration. Such spreads range in size with the festival, but always have an abundance of fruit (which is said to be the God's favorite delicacy).

Appearence : Krol is Generally Depicted as a Grey wolf scarred and menacing, His eyes are bloodshot with rage and fury, His paws eager to rend and tear.He Adorns Thick plates of mismatched armour, Taken from an endless list of battles, Looking forward to witnessing carnage before scavenging the deserted battlefeilds to come, as to claim more armour unto himself.
His Nature: Krol sits upon a mountinous throne of bodies and metal Atop a stone floor laced with Fallen Banners and sheilds, his throne is the mismatched corpses of hunted prey and soldiers sacrificed throughout the aeons in battle, Pinned together with swords and pikes of the dead. Every killing in cold blood or survival is an almost litteral testiment to his power, and another addition to his endless pile of decaying bodies.
His eyes scan from his mountainous spiritual seat, observing each claw against flesh, each tooth against skin. As his ears listen out for each cry of outrage on the endless battlefeilds of worlds. Occasionally Krol will be seen, only in the most savage of battles as a rageful wolf, Howling to the heavens seeking more warfare and carnage in his name.
He pays attention to detail in formation, ever devising more stragems of warfare, his eyes wander from battle to battle, Noting leaders of men and animal alike Giving furious energy to those worthy in battle slaughter, or an animal cornered in the hunt. Seeking entertainment in the individuals improved fighting prowess.
Across shinkou people have seen Krol, wandering the massacred battlefeilds, sniffing at corpses and stealing weapons from the hands of dead men before vanishing as quickly as he had came, Only to appear later in the next battle. Observing with an interested Gaze, savouring ever scent, roar, feeling of pain, vision of fury and smiling bitterly to himself in humour as he observes traitor's and backstabbers with glee.

If a mortal soul lingers their gaze for but just a moment in his iris's, the creatures mind becomes clouded with fury and savagery Such is the visage of war that Krol displays, His mind will Echo battles past with the roars of charges and screams of pain reverberating in his soul. Rationality will become discarded as the mortal will forget his sanity, the pounding of war drums will echo his pulse, and his very existence would be for mindless slaughter. Rendering even a pacifist into a beserker, Echoing the whim of Krol, to add more murder to his undying Tally.
The Legend:
In the Land of Shinkou, when time itself was new, the first primative wolves yearned for food. Their stomachs rumbled with enthusiam, and their minds were set on the Hunt. The first paws were set upon the earth, their nose's heightened by adrenaline, their hearing as keen as razor, their eyes hawklike, as they scoured for prey.
A troubled moose staggered in a clearing before them, its thigh broken from a fall, and the wolves reacted, their own hearbeat pounding in their ears as they ran circleing the beast with ease, All attacked with a renowned fury, such was their starvation. within seconds of the onslaught the moose fell, parylised with fear, as the first wolf bit into its neck, tearing a chunk of flesh loose with vigour, and letting out a victorious Boastful howl.
His pack looked upon him with envy, each feeling it was their right to make the killing blow, the first wolf gave a ravaged howl, dropping the flesh from his maw, but yet the howl continued as he shimmered into something else. The wolf's fur changed, the silky locks blending the colour of an iron similar to the shades forged into weapons, His howl continued, a bellowing war-cry. Sanity evaporating from his soul, Killing every last of his packmates for their rivalry and challenge, before continueing to consume flesh from the moose with a barbaric grin of primitive satisfaction...
Ever since, Krol has inspired the hunt, and War.

Name: Epoch Other names: Time Keeper God of: Time and Passage Abilities: With his wings, Epoch moves the flow of time and records the time line of all who exist and all who have ever been in the vane of his feathers. Personality: It is said that because he was an immortal born at the creation of time, he is an impatient and unforgiving god as is the unending flow of time. Appearance: A large, white gyr falcon, at least 3 times the size of a normal falcon.
History: Etanus, god of creation, could only create life, not destroy it. So his world remained unmoved without death or new beginnings. Children did not grow, mothers did not birth and he heard the cries of despair from his creatures. Shedding a single feather from his wings, Etanus created his first son, Epoch and asked him to use his wings to move the winds of time and to remember all who live throughout his world. So Epoch flew, granting Etanus his request that enabled all living things to live and die and love. Misc:
Name: Etanus Other names: Father of the World, Creator, Life Giver God of: Creation Abilities: When Etanus sees the need to, he uses a part of himself to create others in order to help better the world. It is believed that all gods are born from him and that they are his children with unique abilities and talents who perform the duties and miracles of nature and life. Personality: Usually if someone is described as "having the patience of a god" Etanus is the one they are referring to. Etanus' silence in lore is often believed to be patience and kindness, since he rarely speaks and often takes action on his own. Appearance: i46.tinypic.com/2n069fc.png Something not included in the picture, he has scales on his backside. History: Before the world and all its creatures came to be, Etanus was the only one in existence, but as he walked across the universe, the scales he shed became the planet and all its stars. When he visited this new world out of curiosity, his steps created oceans and lakes that became the basis of life and the hairs that fell from his mane became the newborn creatures that would inhabit this world. Misc:
Name: Unbera Other names: Night Runner God of: Night Abilities: As Unbera runs across the land he brings nightfall. When he becomes tired and misses the glow of the moon, he will run away from the light of the sun and the night sky will chase after him, creating the darkness of night. Personality: Unbera is a quiet and shy god, which is why he never ventures out during the day. Appearance:
History: Unbera was born from Etanus, who shed a tear when he one day stared too long into the sun. It was not a tear of sorrow, but simply one to keep his eyes from drying out and when the tear fell to Etanus' claws, it became Unbera. His fur was of the deepest black because he had fallen into Etanus' shadow, so because of this he disliked the heat of direct sunlight and hid beneath the great creator. Etanus asked him what was wrong and Unbera told him, "This world is beautiful, but I must admit that the sun is too strong for one such as me." So Etanus told him, "Then as the tear that relieved my eyes, you may give this world a time of relief as well." So every evening, when Unbera can no longer stand the heat of the sun, he runs away from the sunlight causing the darkness of night to chase him across the sky and gives the world a time of quiet and tranquility where nocturnal creatures can come out and animals of the day can meet the gods of sleep and dreams. Misc:
Name: Mesero Other names: Mother of all, child-bearer(get it!? She's a bear!), Giver of seeds, First Born God of: The Forests (Also of Fertility) Abilities: Mesero uses her seeds to bestow children upon those who request her help. It is believed that offering gifts of fruit to her will lessen the complications of birth and grant healthy children. She also walks across the earth and plants new seeds that grow into great, green forests. Personality: Mesero is a silent goddess who usually keeps her thoughts to herself. She is diligent and devoted to the forests and those who wish to have children of the next generation. Appearance: Mesero appears as a great big brown bear and wears a green mask with ear tips that grow up into small, young trees(the mask, not her face). History: When the world was first born, Etanus walked across the barren surface and many believe that his first steps became craters that would fill with oceans and lakes. Etanus' next step created a tree when a part of his hoof broke off and was buried deep in the ground from the weight of his foot. From that first tree, Mesero was born and Etanus looked upon her in wonder and said, "I am but one with the power to create. You who have been born of my seed shall spread life throughout the lands. Help all creatures to bear their future generations so that as time moves on, this earth shall be filled with life." Mesero thought over this for a moment and replied to him, "Then I shall task the daughters and grant them their pups and cubs and strong homes to protect the babes." Misc:

Name: Karasis Other names: Black Raven, Life-bringer God of: Life, Birth, and Rebirth Abilities: Karasis is present at every birth and rebirth (for beings like phoenixes and Mutatios who possess that ability), guiding the new soul into its body safely. Sometimes it and its counterpart, Manu, have to duel it out for the life of a newborn. Personality: It does not seem to speak at all, and if it does, its voice is soft, soothing, and androgynous. Overall it is a soothing, sweet creature, always calm and unruffled, bearing the aura of wisdom and power. Appearance: It looks like a large black raven with extremely glossy feathers that never seem to get dirty. It has clear blue eyes that seem to reflect a perfect, cloudless sky. It is beautiful and glorious, and when you look into its eyes, you feel comforted and trusting and nothing in your past bothers you; you have a whole new future to look forward to. History: TBD Misc: N/A for now
Name: Kyralu Other Names: Harmony, Order, the Peacekeeper, the Survivor, the Balancer Goddess of: Harmony Abilities: She keeps things in balance. When conflict arises, has the ability to smooth things over so that each side is equal and in peace. She holds balance, peace, and order of the world and will always be there, no matter how much chaos and warfare storms through. Personality: It is hard to know what Kyralu thinks; she is as mysterious as she is open, as emotional as she is reasonable. Generally, since she does not speak, and only travels about in seemingly random pattern (indeed, few of her fellow gods even see her at all), no one really knows her true self. Appearance: A dainty little butterfly, Kyralu looks like the slightest thing might knock her over, but no; she's strong and hardy. Her wings contain all patterns of colors, an equal amount of light and dark swirls, proof that even the most chaotic of images can still be equalized, symmetric, and beautiful. She does not speak much, if at all; she will simply glide past. In stories, she is often depicted as perching on one side of a seesaw; on the other side is an enormous boulder. Yet with little Kyralu on the other side, the seesaw is balanced perfectly. History: She was created to offset the chaos and discord in the world, serving to fill in whatever is needed to make the order of the universe balanced. Of course it is said that true, total Harmony will only come once everything is destroyed, but in the meantime, Kyralu flutters here and there, lurking and bringing whatever balance may be necessary—as much order as she can in this disorderly world. Misc:
Name: Quinivene Other names: Quini, Desire, Passion, Love Goddess of: Love and S*xuality Abilities: She can strike passion into the heart of any who sees her; or, she can create passion between two creatures by taking on the form of one of them. Though she looks the same as any creature, she has an extra layer of subtle sexuality that drives any being -- male or female -- crazy. Beyond inciting physical passion, however, Quinivene also knows the stories of all romances in the world, past, present, and future. She knows when a relationship will succeed till death do them part and when it will fail. Personality: Sometimes mischievous, sometimes wise, Quinivene is the most frustrating god you will ever have the misfortune to get involved with. She knows more than you do; she always does, even when she acts immature, creating love-spats among the other gods and, when it suits her, among arrogant mortals. Even though she knows the outcome of every relationship and fling and affair, she won't always tell the truth about it. Appearance: A shapeshifter, Quinivene takes on the form of the most attractive specimen of whatever species sees her; i.e., if a male wolf beholds her, he will see the most beautiful she-wolf he had ever seen; if a female bird sees her, Quini will appear as the most appealing male. Though Quini can appear to be both genders, in stories, she is referred to as female, because it is believed that females are the more deceptive of the two sexes. What she really is, however, is all genders and all forms of sexuality; anything that incites passion. The only thing consistent in all her forms is her rosy eyes, a pale pink that seems to brew crimson passion the longer one looks into them. History: Oh, Quinivene has always been around, as long as time and creation itself; she just hadn't had a face until Etanus created one for her, so he could know what beauty was. She has since gone where passion goes. It matters not what gender, sexual preference, or kink a person identifies with. If there's a heart that storms with feeling, Quini will be there. Misc: She enjoys hanging out (and flirting, of course) with the god of mischief and sometimes has long discussions with the goddess of fate. She will agree to acts of vengeance from spurned lovers more often than she will grant an aching heart reprieve.
Name: Seranthia Other names: The Breeze, the Gale, and the Hurricane Goddess of: Wind and Air Abilities: She flies around and every pump of her air-wings sends wind traveling throughout the land. Whenever she is feeling emotional or passionate (could be anything from anger and frustration to overpowering love), her wing-flaps become stronger and she ends up creating strong gales and wind chill, or even a storm. She embodies all directions of the wind: the chilly north, the warm and comforting south, the quick and powerful west, and the lazy east. It all depends on her mood, or what season it is, or both. Personality: Most of the time, she is sweet, kind, friendly, and all-around pleasant to be around. Her favorite pastime is simply to fly around through the land, exploring every portion of the world she can. She even has a playful and mischievous streak when she's in the mood for it. She can get very agitated or emotional, however, and her wrath is most keenly felt by victims of hurricanes or sea-storms. She likes to hang out most with the God of the Sea, the Goddess of Winter, and the God of Thunder. Appearance: Seranthia is seen as a beautiful bird with white and silver feathers made of moving, fluttering air. Her size will change depending on her emotions and the kind of wind she emits; she can be as small as a sparrow when she's just causing a lazy little zephyr, or as large as one of those legendary rocs when she's causing a fierce gale or storm. History: Comin' laterrr Misc: She avoids the advances of Itukka, God of Thunder, even though he's seriously attracted to her. She likes him as a friend but is always dancing about him, playing a game and making him chase her, amused by his efforts. That is how the presence of so much wind during thunderstorms is explained.
Name: Toreinos Other names: The Night-Walker, the Messenger, the Prophet, Dream, Nightmare God of: Dreams Abilities: Mated to Somnayla, Goddess of Sleep, Toreinos quietly walks with her every night when all fall asleep and brings visions of remarkable range to the resting mind of each creature. In one antler he holds all the pleasant dreams; in the other, the nightmares and more aggressive or disturbing dreams. It's not clear how he decides who receives which type of dream, but as he passes each creature, he lowers his head and allows a dream to escape and dive into the mind of that creature. He can also act as a messenger from the higher beings, bringing premonitions or prophetic visions to whomever. Personality: A quiet sort of fellow, Toreinos rarely communicates with anyone except his beloved mate Somnayla. He is very patient and calm, but don't underestimate his strength, for he can bear the wildest of dreams and nightmares in his antlers; visions that would make any mortal tremble. He might appear in one's dream if he is delivering a message, but even then he will speak minimally. His voice, when heard, is both soft and commanding; it is impossible not to pay attention to him when he wants it. But he will only speak to a mortal when it is gravely important. Appearance: A towering, powerful-looking moose with enormous antlers. Each antler bears a swirl of energy; the right is full of dark energy of nightmares, the left a pleasant silver-white-bluish color of good dreams. They are constantly shifting and spinning quickly, and if any mortal looked at the antlers directly, they would easily go insane with what they would see. Toreinos' pelt is not brown like a typical moose's, but rather deep black, blending in with night and with shadows. Even if he were to be seen, one might only make out a bare silhouette and those chaotic antlers. He is mostly invisible and silent as he passes through all the minds of the creatures. History: First came Sleep, then came Dream...more later Misc: Spends his time around beloved mate Somnayla

For Z I call dibs (subject to change based on Z's own preferences) on the God of Marriage, Family, and Childbirth/Midwifery (she and Blitzy's god/dess will be forever hating one another)....and possibly the Goddess of Virginity (a la Artemis). also, possibly, Fate/Destiny (distinct from Smarty's "Fortune"), and the Goddess of SLEEP (mated to the God of Dreams) Name: Genis
Other names: Genia
God of: Marriage, Family, Childbirth/Midwifery
Abilities: Has the ability to bind couples in a form of "forever wedlock." Once couples have proven themselves worhty of marriage/mating to the god, he can bind their souls for the afterlife. However, if angered, he can easily break apart the marriage, making both parties infertile and unable to find mates/partners again. Offers the blessing toward families and ensures that the family is the strongest unit and bond. Also has the ability to ensure safe birth of any female.
Personality: Very quiet by nature, Genis (or in female form Genia), can be the best listener any one can find. He's fond of children and is often more prone to talking to them rather than more grown ups. He can take on the form that they are more prone to accepting, either female or male.
For adults he takes on which ever is the more dominate form of the relationship. He speaks lowly and softly, so listen to what he said because his words are never wasted.
When the female is going through labor, he'll often pose as a female to help with the childbearing process. This is done because not only is a joy to be around new life, but because often times it seems odd that a male would be a midwife.
Appearance: He takes on many forms. His core form is that of a peacock. The tail feathers are often high in the air, showing off the beautiful plumage. A soft simple mask often adorns his face above his beak, though that too is often full of deep designs. He also has a tendency to appear in female form to those that seek female guidance.
History:
Misc: Because he can switch between the [grrr]es, Genis is infertile. Name: Lillah
Other names: Lilly
Goddess of: Virginity Abilities: She has the ability to protect ones purity if they so wish it and guide them in times of smexual tension. She can also smite those who take advantage of the pure through manipulation or rape.
Personality: Just as her name implies, Lillah is pure in every way. Often time she is seen as naive, but even that doesn't seem to bother her. As gentle as a spring breeze, she runs and plays and helps fathers who ask for their daughters protection as well as comforting those who have been wronged. Because of her nature, Lillah is often seen with other females and occassionally when a male is around, will approach, however wearing a blush the entire time.
Appearance: Because of her name and mannerisms, Lillah takes on the form of a folly unicorn. Her entire body is a lovely shade of snow white, while her horn and eyes remain a brilliant gold. The mask she wears is often resting flat against her face and is the softest pink with white and gold accents.
History:
Misc: Virgin Name: Rhan
Other names: Bitch, Fickle One, Karma, Destiny,
Goddess of: Fate/Destiny Abilities: Has the ability to see ones past, present, and future and make her own form of justice. What one deserves, maybe what one gets. Its all up to her.
Personality: She's a bitch. Rhan does not like being crossed by anyone and while she allows for some temporary luck and misfortune, in the end she will not be crossed. No one can run from fate, and she makes sure all of them know that.
Appearance: Rhan takes on the form of the great Galapagos turtle with three heads. Each head has the ability to see one of three things: the past, present, and future actions of any indiviual. This form symbolizes many things. One, no matter how fast you are, time and fate always have a way of catching up with you its just a matter of how long it takes. Two, the shell on her back represents the fact that no matter what you cannot break your fate.
History:
Misc: Name: Somnayla
Other names: Wink, Nod, Sandman,
Goddess of: Sleep
Abilities: Is able to bring sleep to all those who need it. All she has to do is bring a simple kiss to the others forehead to let them go off to sleep. How they sleep though is another factor she is able to control; restless and paranoid, soundless, or if she so chose it no sleep at all.
Personality: Just like her mate, she is patient and calm with the world around her. Though she has powers, she often shys behind her mate, letting him fight whatever dangers maybe approaching as well as using him for a shield just in case. He is her rock and she allows him to let everyone know that. She is more so loving, but if defied she can and will make sure one suffers through her wrath, not only from sleep but with nightmares as well.
Appearance: She takes on the form of a petite deer. Her coat is a deep brown with the traditional white spots and tail. She is much shorter than her mate, but all the same, the two of them together are fitting. Her doe eyes are wide and are a milky gray, an indication that she cannot see. This loss of sight is fully an advantage though, she does not pass judgement on the others dreams nor is she scarred and tramatize by what dreams her mate gives out.
History:
Misc: Mated with Toreinos, the god of Dreams.

Name: Luneas Other names: Lunai God of: Hope Abilities & Personality: Luneas is understood as being compassionate and has a knack for appearing in the darkest, most hopeless situations. If a wolf is trapped in a gorge with no foreseeable escape, she spreads her wings, sparking a flame within the heart of individual. A twinkle in their eye, they fight their way out with all that they have. When her job is complete she fades to ashes once more... Appearance: Luneas is most commonly known as the phoenix god. It is easy to find why this is. The Phoenix is well known for its relaitively short life span, but also for its ability to reincarnate itself and its close tie to fire. A Phoenix that dies peacefully, bursts into flames, leaving nothing but ashes. (catch the metaphor yet?) From the ashes rises a young revitalized fire-bird that once again sail through the skies on its wings of flame. History: Misc:

She floats through the skies playfully, just like any normal otter wood. Appearance: She can be seen swimming through the sea of stars nightly as an otter. She is constantly organizing the sky one star at a time but during the day she dives into the horizon to knap in the safety of the sea's kelp. History:

Personality: Tahdrae's personality varies drastically depending upon the situation. She can be cruel and vindictive to some, and incredibly benevolent to others. Much of the time she is extremely cruel when deciding the destinations of lost creatures, but occasionally one beast or another will interest her, and she will begin to follow their destinies from afar. Often she is wickedly cruel, and enjoys leading mortals to their deaths. She is said to sometimes speak to them, as well, and in these rare cases, she will ask the chosen creature questions without answers. She wears a beautiful mask in all her forms, engraved with black, grey, and blue patterns. No matter which form she takes, her face and eyes are always completely hidden by the mask. Story: Tahdrae was born when the first lost traveller fell to his death from a precipice, and before Manu took his soul, she breathed of the mortal's fear and sorrow. So intoxicated was she that she chose to alter creatures' paths to lead them to their deaths unless she thought them deserving of life. Since her birth, she has been addicted to the taste of death, and frequently appears when creatures die lost and alone, so that she can taste their last moments before Manu takes their souls. She also enjoys creating cold snaps and loves to help her parents when they seek to begin the cold season. Appearance: Maileii takes the form of a baby polar bear, but with brilliant blue markings all over her body. She is said to be always covered in frost, but because she moves quickly, even when she is sighted this is hard to verify. Story: Maileii, a minor goddess, was created when her parents, Chutra and Shromathan, mated. Misc: n/a
the rest of this stuff is coming soon! :3

Guys, what should the mythology be called? Like how followers of God and Jesus Christ call themselves Christians and followers of Buddha call themselves Buddhists, I had the idea that they call themselves Etanians. Or they can be called Etanists. Or Etanuan. Any other ideas? >>;
