Strange Tidings (open)

Moon was cold, freezing cold. He stumbled around in the mist often tripping over a rock. Food, I need food. He smelled the rabbit in the air and tried to catch it. He launched himself through the air and fell down, down, down. He hit the ground with an bone-shattering thud. And as he lay there unmoving wolf faces danced in front of his face. Shrieking pups, yowling warriors. He would never see them again. not even his family. Family- he couldn't think about them, as they were probably dead...or worse. Hunger gnawed at his belly. I have have to get up, and move on. How can I move on-everything is gone, all gone. I have nothing. As he lay battling himself he fell into an uneasy sleep.

[Niphanos]

((Hey, mind if Niphanos picks up and moves Moon to a cave? I had to ask because I don't want to start powerplaying so early.))

((Activating Liquid Time! *Hero pose*))

Drifting along, with an idea for a torch design brewing in his head, Niphanos is flying across the wolf territories. He doesn't really much care about their territory lines. To him, a wolf is a wolf. Speaking of wolves, he spots one stumbling around on the ground, and watches as it jumps up and drops to the ground. His curiosity piqued, he slows and circles into a landing. Looking down over the wolf, he sees that the wolf is injured, but only sleeping. He projects a light wave of mental energy around him, and finds a suitable cave nearby. Grasping the wolf firmly with both arms, he flies over towards the cave and places the wolf safely inside. Here Niphanos hesitates, because he wants to help the wolf, but is going to have to leave to do so. He decides to leave something to try and convey that he will come back, not knowing any way to leave the wolf a message. Removing one of the bangles on his upper arm and placing it next to the wolf, he hopes it will see the twin rings, connected by chains and realize he was coming back. Taking one last look back, he flies off to his lair to retrieve something.

The forest was on fire. He had to escape. He began to run when- a burst of pain jutted up his leg jolted him to awakeness. He was in a cave. I didn't fall asleep here did I? No, I was in the open when I fell asleep. Moon sniffed the air. Something must have carried me. Yes. there was a sent similar to a lizards smell. Similar yet different. Then he saw the trinket on the ground. He tried to stand to nudge it but his leg would not support him. He assumed the Lizard-thing would be coming back. He tried to stand again but he could not. He ended up on his back where he saw the horrible burns up and down his stomach were just starting to heal. As he stared at them he once more fell into an uneasy sleep.

[Niphanos]

Carrying a couple rabbits on a spike in his back claws and some "medicines" with is front claws, Niphanos heads back towards the wolf he left in the cave. Here I go again... he thinks to himself. I should just let sleeping wolves lie, but no. I have to go get them food, even if they are hurt... Speaking of hurt, I don't see how these 'medicines' will help him. Shouldn't healing be left to healers? Oh, well... the Oraea said it should help, assuming I can find out what is wrong... Seeing the area below him, he ends his pessimistic inner monologue and sends out a wave of energy, locating the bangles he left with the wolf. As he lands near the cave, he drops the point of the spike into a crack in the ground, and reshapes it into a rod, keeping the rabbits on it. Placing the "medicines" on the ground, he retrieves his bangles and puts them back on his left front leg. He then sits, curling his tail around himself, waiting for the wolf to awaken.

Moons body ached all over. He awoke only to be hit with a lot of the strange lizzard sent. Looks like my reascuer is back. He opened his eyes. Oh it's a Loka Dragon. Moon had heard about Loka dragons in myths but he had never met one before. "who are you?" Moon's voice echoed through the cave. "What do you want?"

[Niphanos]

Niphanos stood up and dipped his head in a bow. "I am Niphanos from the Azano clan. I am a metalworker and a jeweler," he stated cordially, "You appeared to be injured, so I moved you so I might help. I am at your service." Gesturing to the rabbits he says "I brought food, in case you were hungry, and consulted some friends of mine for ways to heal you. They gave me these medicines," With this, he gestures to said objects, "However, I cannot use them unless I know how and where you are hurt." With his introduction concluded, he sits back down, necklace twinkling.

Moon looked at the Rabbits and thought maybe some help wouldn't be too bad."My right hind leg is hurt in some way. And my stomach is burnt very badly. My name is Moon by the way." He jestered to the moon on his flank. It was glowing slightly in the light. "Ya know cause I Have a Moon on my leg." His stomach growled.

[Niphanos]

Niphanos snorted in amusement. Silly wolves, all you need is some food, and they'll open right up. Reaching for the proper medicines to treat burns, he uses his magic to move the rod closer to the wolf. As he approaches Moon, the rod becomes liquid and flows like a stream of water in the air towards Niphanos, leaving the rabbits to the wolf. Even as he applies the gel-like salve the Oraea said would help wth burns, the metal forms into a long, nonrestrictive flat band around his left foreleg, just above the wrist. "By the way," he says, "you would not happen to have anyone after you, would you?" Done with the salve, he places the bag back with the other medicines, and places a pile of rocks around and over them. Glancing back at Moon, he then compresses the rocks to form an airtight seal around the medicines.

The Rabbits were good. They danced across his tounge and down into his belly where they filled up the great hole that was his empty belly. Niphanos was applying a medicine to his burns. It stung horribly for a moment but then felt nice and soothing. "What do you mean someone after me?" He watched as Niphanos made some rocks move and compress over the medicine. Impressive he thought. I need to get me some magic.

[Niphanos]

Niphanos took a sidelong glance at Moon. "Hmm. I only meant to inquire whether or not someone purposely put you in this state, and might want to harm you more. I thought I noticed another wolf on my way back." Settling back down, he goes on, saying, "I do not mean to be rude, but how did you get so badly burned?"

((This would be a great place for someone else to enter, though not into the cave, lol. Also, he can really only use his magic to move metal, he still has to pick up dirt, and most stone.))

Scarlet felt the hunger starting at the root of her stomach. But that didn't matter. She was on a blood hunt, a hunt that would end in anothers blood. Stupid wolf, she would show him that no one could hurt her and get away with it. She glanced back. Bloodlily, her sister, was lagging behide. Maybe they should eat. " Chip, go hunt and then meet us a few miles a forward." Chip replied, "yes sister." No matter what the hunt must keep moving. Meanwhile back in the cave, Moon said,"maybe someone is after me, I don't know if who did this is alive."

((I felt a little confused when reading that, lol. One thing that would help with switching between scenes would be using the Horizontal Bar, or even just separate paragraphs. Not to mention I sort of meant someone else coming in, not just us. It's more fun with more people.))


"Well, if somebody is after you, then we had better make this place somewhat safer." says Niphanos. He begins piling up stones near the entrance in much the same way he did for the medicines, but leaving an odd gap that winds around before leaving the cave. He then compresses them and repeats, layering them. While he does this, he explains to the wolf, "I try to disguise the entrance so it does not seem so... however, I do not wish us to be trapped, so I leave a way through... I try to make it discouraging, though..." He rambles on for a while speaking about different types of stone, the ways to work metals, and other trivia, not really caring whether or not Moon is listening. He was unaccustomed to going so far for one creature, be it a wolf or another dragon, so he needed to let out some tension. When he finishes, he sits down and says, "Hopefully, if someone is determined enough to try and come in, we will hear them..." Now exhausted from his exertions, he starts to lay his head down to sleep.

Moon layed his head down on the rock, maybe I should sleep some more. Then out of the corner of his eye he saw something move near the cave entrance. Huh!! What?!? oh it's just Niphanos. But what is he doing??? Niphanos moved rocks to block the cave entrance. As he explained what he was doing Moon began to listen. He never knew rocks and metal could be so interesting, he always thought they were just rocks. Once Niphanos was done he layed down. Moon figured it was so he could sleep. Niphanos had been so helpful to him and Moon began to wonder why but soon he fell asleep as well.

"Scarlet can we stop and rest for a while," Bloodlily said, " I'm hungry and tired." "Chip is hunting, we can not stop, the hunt must go on," Scarlet replied. "Scarlet the wolf barely cut you." Scarlet wheeled around. "Look at my cheek", she hissed. motioning to a newly healed cut on her cheek. " That wolf harmed me, and we have to show everyone that know one can harm me and get away with it. Now let me help you remember this lesson I taught you." Scarlet raised her paw and hit her sister hard enough on the face that Bloodlily was flung a few feet over the ground. Weakling scarlet thought. Some one help bloodlily begged in her mind.
