Brooke sighed, wishing she hadn't run off from Aurek's side. Now they were separated once again. Brooke heard the rustling in the bushes behind her again. She ignored it began to play with the water. It always seemed to take her mind off of things. She made it swirl around in a circle until it lifted up and created a twister, which fell apart when she lost her concentration. The water splashed back into the stream and tiny droplets of water splashed her. Before she could shake them off, a noise from behind her caught her attention. She turned around to have a wolf pounce on her. It tackled her to the ground. She laid on her back, her underbelly exposed. Before she saw who her attacker was she used her hind-legs and pushed the wolf off of her. The weight lifted off of her but she could not tell if it were her who pushed the wolf off or if they had moved on their own. Brooke got up and turned to the wolf. It was Aurek. Slyly, Brooke began to make a wall of water until it was over Aurek's head. She smiled her evil grin and let the water fall on top of Aurek. She laughed at his soaked body and laughed before walking over to him and giving him a lick on the chin.
OMG I am sooo sorry. I thought it was your turn, I was going to pm you but thought to myself. "self, is it your turn on home again?" So I checked and it was my turn. Again, so sorry ;(

Aurek felt bad suddenly when he saw the look on her face as she lay on the ground beneath him, his tackle successful, and he softened, easily being pushed off and sitting back. He hoped she wasn't mad and was trying to think of what to say next when all of a sudden, she was grinning mischievously and before he knew it, he was soaked, his fur droopy and his head even drooping slightly with the sudden weight falling on him. He gave her a slightly raised wolf brow and shook himself out. He supposed he deserved it though, and even though he thought of making a smart remark such as, "Oh.. you think that's funny? Watch this..." and doing something else, he knew it was silly since technically, he had started it.
Instead, he chuckled and let her lick him. "I guess we're even. Sorry to startle you... I thought you'd know it was me..." he glanced off slightly, then back at her, his feelings of remorse fading quickly as he returned to his normal, up-beat self. "So, any particular reason you wanted to come to the water bank?" he asked her.

"To wash the blood from my muzzle and paws. Although, something else drew me to this stream. But I can't explain it." Brooke focused her eyes down to the stream where a couple fish swam near the bottom. She sighed and stepped into the flowing water. It crept up her forelegs, across her chest, and onto her muzzle, preventing her from having to dunk her muzzle in the water. A little trail of blood washed away into the stream, disappearing a few feet from her. Brooke stepped out of the stream, shaking out her fur, then draining the rest of the droplets and returning them to the stream. Brooke stared down into the stream, confused to what brought her here. She knew it wasn't Gaugeh, since his magic what not water. But she didn't know any wolves, or creatures, that had water magic. But perhaps it wasn't with water magic. Brooke turned her attention to Aurek. "Do you feel it?" Brooke paused, trying to think of how to describe it. "Its like... A voice is calling for me, even though I hear nothing. I can feel their sadness, whoever, or whatever, they are." She sat down, feeling the sadness pull her down. She suddenly felt like crying. Just curling up in a ball and crying for everything that has happened. Not just to her, but everyone she loves.

"Oh.. okay," he responded to her explanation, simply observing her for the time being. Suddenly, it seemed as though her mood changed, growing more serious. She was focused on the stream, and then she asked him about... well perhaps something that was there. He glanced toward the water, his brows furrowing. At first, no, he felt nothing. Then, faintly he did. But only while his focus was entirely on the water. His attention was pulled toward Brooke, however, at her movements. He could sense whatever sadness she had indicated coming from her. This wasn't good...
There were one thing he could think of... that there was some kind of spirit or sprite residing within the lake that called to her... and with that came the possibility she might be overcome with it. Either way, he didn't like this and he didn't think they should stick around to find out. He could be wrong, of course. It could be something else entirely. But he knew from experience that at least for some of the water areas in the Sunai Wetlands, it was quite dangerous to get to close. This could be one such case.
"C'mon, let's get out of here," he said with a smile. "I think we might be able to go ahead and go back to Shinkou, if you'd like. I only brought us here to get away from Dynan and relax for a while. Although I suppose it hasn't been as much on the relaxing part..." Though they had gotten to spend some time together, that was for sure. In any case, it was up to her. If she really wished to stay he would... of course.

Brooke could tell by his eyes that Aurek felt what she did. The water began to ripple. It moved against the current and rose out of the water. Brooke could make out four legs and what looked to be a body. Then she realized, out of the water had formed a wolf. It looked at her and Aurek. She took a step back, shocked at what had just formed from the water. The wolf began to walk towards them, but when its paw hit the ground all the water fell to the ground. The wolf looked down and more water from the river climbed over its body and formed another paw. "You are here. You have come for me". The wolf's water form dripped off of it and fur appeared below it. It was grey, almost identical to Brooke's. Her eyes were the same color as the stream of which she came and she had markings, very similar to Brooke's.
Brooke was stunned. Had that really just happened or was she imagining it. She pressed her side against Aurek's, not sure how to react. "My child, why do you fear me. Do you not recognize your own mother?" Brooke tilted her head in confusion. Could it be? Was it her mother?
"My mother died when I was a pup." There was no way this could be her. Or could there. "I know my dear. But it is me, I have been revived." The she-wolf looked at her with soft eyes, pleading Brooke to believe her.
Brooke took a step forward. The she-wolf smelled just how her mother had. "Is it really you?" Brooke took another step forward. "Of course my dear, why would I trick you?" Brooke took one more step and was almost nose to nose with the she-wolf. "Now come with me child and we shall live together like we should have." Brooke nodded and followed the she-wolf, forgetting all about Aurek.
The she-wolf only moved down the river a couple of paces before stopping. Brooke stopped next to her, confused to where they were going. The she-wolf grinned at Aurek and her eyes flashed red then returned to their blue color. "Say goodbye to your girl, wolf." The she-wolf pushed Brooke into the river than jumped after her, disappearing in a swirl of water.

Aurek was hardly surprised at the events that followed. In fact, given his instincts, he would've tried to teleport again, taking Brooke with him. But he wasn't fast enough as she began believing the figure, drawing Brooke in. He called her name, "Brooke. Don't listen... Brooke!" But it was to no avail as the spell was weaved. He growled, leaping toward her, but he was too late as she was pushed into the water and the figure disappeared with her.
"No! Brooke! Dammit!" he shouted, leaping in the water. He didn't see her anywhere. Surfacing for air he gasped, looking around. Admittedly, electricity and teleportation definitely were not the elements he needed right now. Or perhaps... no... if he sent an electric wave it could potentially kill her if she was there.
Diving again, he swam toward the bottom, having to fight the current as well. He knew that Brooke was a water element and that the water itself probably wouldn't be the death of her. But who knew what the spirit or whatever was up to.
Suddenly, he felt an unnatural cold and his vision blurred. Then he could see them, but he was immobile. He could only watch and he swore silently. He had to find a way to help her...

Man I feel bad. Im so sorry I have to keep saying this, but, Im sorry it took me so long to reply. If you read Here it will explain why I havn't been posting at all lately. Also, I can't decide what Brooke's mom/the creature should be. I googled a bunch of things but I couldn't find anything that fit the description. So, if you could find something, that would be very appreciated. The darkness surrounded Brooke. It her. Choked her. Or was it the water that deprived her of her precious air? She could make out only two shapes. One of which she had memorized in the last day she had spent with him. Aurek. And the other shape was unfamiliar. Brooke's vision began to blur as the unfamiliar shape turned around and began to get close to Brooke.
Brooke woke up with a gasp for air. Her sides heaved as she tried to catch her breath. "Aurek," she gasped with a croak. "Aurek are you there?," she tried to lift her head to see if he was there, but she was limp, paralyzed. She couldn't move at all except to breath. She searched with her eyes. She didn't recognize anything, nor could she make out any details. As she finally caught her breath, she realized that the air was unusually thick and a little hazy. "Poison," she muttered under her breath.
She didn't know what to do. She couldn't move, she couldn't see well, there were no wolves... She could go on, but that wouldn't help her escape from wherever she was. She didn't know how she was going to escape or even if she could. Again, her vision began to blur and Brooke blacked out.

OoC: Haha no worries XD Pretty much everyone is super busy with school and/or work right now so that roleplay is a low priority. It's pretty dead around here in general so the fact you found time to reply at all is somewhat fortunate xP
Concerning the creature, I will say that when you first brought it into the plot, my first image was similar to the faceless mother in Inuyasha who gives her victims illusions of a lost parent and then eats their soul. But then after your last post, I was considering instead a water spirit interested in something else. Also, given its ability to take on the shape of Brooke's mother, I'm imagining something with the ability of not just illusions, but mind reading. I still like the faceless mother idea, if you do, but if you want to do something otherwise it's whatever. Either way, I will say that my image of the current scene is that both Brooke and Aurek are in reality under-water with limited time before they both drown, but all they see is the illusion created by this water creature...Hope this helps DX
I'm going to reply based on the image in my head, but if you want me to change it I can XD
iC:
As Brooke came to, he saw her lips moving, but couldn't hear what she said. Or at least, it wasn't clear. It was all muffled, oddly enough. He wondered if she knew she was part of a trap now or if she was still under some spell. Then, slowly, he began to see the form of the thing which had trapped them. It was beautiful, alluring, yet somehow disgusting at the same time. He could see two long blurry forms stretching from its body toward Brooke, as if trying to hold her down or suffocate her. He wasn't sure which.
"Brooke! Brooke!" he called out, only to realize that no sound escaped from his mouth. Or maybe it did and he couldn't hear it. He tried to think desperately. Perhaps if he got out of this place, he could figure a way to pull her out too. But then he remembered he saw nothing in the water. They were entirely within an illusion - somehow.
He struggled, focusing all his energy on the spot where Brooke was and to his surprise, somewhat, found he was suddenly beside her. So, he was able to still use his teleportation even within bounds of someone else's trap. Good. But now what? Perhaps he could focus on the river bank and teleport them there? Or would that even work within the bounds of this place. "Brooke," he said again, frustrated that he still heard no sound. Could she hear him? He found he was still paralyzed, and he knew he couldn't teleport again except once to escape. Otherwise, he wouldn't have much energy left... another problem also dawned on him. If he teleported he and Brooke right at that moment, whatever this creature was would certainly come with them. It was possible that if that happened, they would have the advantage and could possibly defeat it... but it was a high risk. But waiting here was even more of a risk, wasn't it? he thought to himself.
Well, trying to teleport to the bank where this all began was worth a shot. He just prayed it didn't sap all his energy and they be trapped forever if he failed. He was glad he had been focusing on Brooke when teleporting before because they were just touching, even if he couldn't feel it. He focused his energy once more, this time on the shore, hoping that when he opened his eyes, they would be safe outside of this weird place and back in reality.

Thanks, now I don't feel AS bad. But still, im sorry. And I like the idea that you have. I never would of thought of the creature from Inuyasha. Man, I haven't seen that show in sooo long, but I remember that episode.
Brooke's mind was fuzzy and her vision a blur. She didn't understand what was going on. She could move but her mother. No. The creature was still there. But the scenery was different. Now it was a place she knew. It was the river where she had first seen the creature. But how... Aurek! Was he here? Brooke looked around. Too her surprise, she could lift her head and look around, unlike before. She looked behind her and Aurek was no too far away. "Aurek!" She realized in that moment that she too, could talk. Although it was barely audible, she hoped Aurek would hear without the creature hearing.
The creature seemed shocked, like she had no idea how she had gotten back to where they first met. They had an advantage, if only they could get her away from the water...

OoC: Oh well cool then I guess we'll stick with that XD Though perhaps slightly modified to be a wolfish figure instead of human LOL... also, yea I know right? I love that show! Have you seen the episodes they did later to finish the show? They're good!
iC:
It worked! He groaned, realizing that the effort had been a little overkill and he had ended up lying down. He moved to his feet, however, as soon as he heard Brooke's familiar voice calling his name. "Brooke..." he murmured back, "You ok?" Of course that was the first thing on his mind... before, he looked around, his eyes settling on the creature, lying in shock on the bank near the water. How ironic that it didn't end up over where they were and they end up by the water. At least putting them between it's source would help. But perhaps they still had a chance.
"Brooke... if you can... try and draw it towards us. Maybe with the water or something. I'll go behind it, and maybe we can figure out how to deal with this thing." Afterall, there had to be a reason behind this creature's attack... right? He just hoped his plan would work...

You would think in a time of panic and fear, Brooke wouldn't be able to think of a plan to save Aurek and herself. But one name-one wolf- was imprinted in her mind. Aurek. She had to save him at the very least. So when Brooke looked at Aurek then to the creature that had put both of them in harms way, a plan crept its way into her mind. She had to protect Aurek, and the only way was to eliminate the creature.
Brooke was thankful for the humidity here. Without it, her plan would probably never work, and if it did, Brooke would most likely not be able to escape with Aurek. Brooke shook the thought out of her head. This would work. She and Aurek would get away safely.
Concentrating on her plan, Brooke closed her eyes, feeling her surroundings. She focused on water. How much? Where? Brooke realized, that she could see, even though her eyes were closed. She couldn't see everything, only things that contained water, but even that was helpful enough. Off to her side was Aurek, and in front of her was the creature. It stumbled up to its paws and looked around. Now was her only chance.
Brooke took a deep breath, and as she exhaled she opened her eyes. What she saw shocked her. The space in front of her muzzle was blocked by a cloud of mist. She took another breath, exhaling harder this time. As she did this, more mist formed from her mouth and spread out farther.
"Aurek," Brooke yelled at the wolf to her side. "I need you to stay near me." She wanted to make sure he was by her side, but she knew the creature had heard her. And it wouldn't be too long before it realized what was going on. For her plan to work the creature had to remain still, or close to it.
The young she-wolf closed her eyes for a brief second. She concentrated on water. Aurek and water. Brooke opened her eyes and took in the deepest breath she could, holding it for a moment or two before releasing it. As she exhaled the mist pushed out of her mouth and crept towards the creature. Brooke closed her eyes and made her way towards the creature. Even though her eyes were closed, she felt as though she could see everything. A lot of things, Brooke realized were made of water. She could see two wolf bodies, plants, and the water that lied in the rock bed that was the river.
Brooke didn't know how well the creature's vision was so she stopped as far away from it as she would be able to see with her eyes open. It was obvious from the creature's head motions that she couldn't see a thing and was surprised at the sudden mist. Brooke focused on the river behind the creature. She willed the water onto the land, where it slithered like a snake until it was behind the creature. The water hovered around the creatures legs, almost touching, but not quite. Then in one second she pushed the water against the creatures legs and froze it.
When Brooke opened her eyes and the mist faded, she could see that the creature stood near the river, its legs frozen to the ground. It struggled and struggles, but the ice around its legs were to frozen. The creature looked up when it realized the mist had cleared. When it's eyes finally reached Brooke's, the young she wolf growled, "Care to explain yourself?"
If I may say so myself, I think this is my best post yet!! And, if you would be so kind. I think it would be weird for me to put what the creature says, so could you do the explaining from the creature to Brooke about why she looked like her mom. If you don't want to its fine. Thanks, I think this was worth the wait.
