OoC: This is a private roleplay between Midnight and myself for the time being.
Also, we have permission from Wom for the crossing over into human realms.
iC:
The night was just beginning.
Here, in the city of Thor, sunset was equivalent to sunrise for anyone else on the planet. Here, night was where all were awake, thriving, doing their business. Soon, music would echo through the streets along with the sounds of sirens, shouts, and gunshots somewhere in the distance. The sky was sometimes vaguely visible this night, and as the sun's rays slowly vanished, giving way to the moon and starlight, darkness descended.
He usually didn't come here, as his own personal preference. This city was too ridden with crime for his liking. Sure, he was a do-gooder, in a sense. But this city... it bode evil. But something had drawn his attention before and he had a feeling he needed to be here.
Black boots gave a brief 'thud' 'thud' 'thud' as he walked down the street, a long dark coat flailing about his legs. It was sleeveless, showing off the blue-green ring of fire tattooed on his left arm. His hands were in his pockets, his golden-orange eyes glimmering. Briefly a breeze rippled his dark brown hair about his shoulders and he stopped, glancing around briefly. All clear... for now.
He turned, slipping through a metal door into a tall building. At first would appear a mere lobby, tile floors, paintings on the walls, even a desk with a secretary. But he knew this place hid much behind this light illusion. He moved toward the hall beside the desk, to which the woman looked up. "Can I help you, sir?" she asked him, a pleasant smile on her lips but a warning look in her eyes. He looked at her sharply. "You know exactly why I am here. Don't pester me with your nonsense and waste my time."
The woman's face turned sour in an instant. "I can have security on your ass in two seconds."
Joseph smiled, eyes glowing. "Bring it on."
Suddenly, an alarm went off, just as he was slipping through another door and began descending the stairs behind it. He reached the floor below and went through that door as well, and what faced him was just what he was looking for. A room full of cages. Rows and rows on columns. Animals turned this way and that, eying him carefully and his eyes narrowed. If only he had the power to release every one of them...
He slipped out once more, this time ascending the stairs with haste. He reached a higher floor, and when he slipped out he was faced with another long hall. Lined with security guards. Oh great...
He drew a dagger from his belt and as they attacked, he met them, leaping, slicing, and blocking with expert skill. He was almost there... the office of the man who owned this building. He needed some information. And nothing was standing in his way from getting it. Well... as soon as he beat his opposition down that is.

Midnight was so pissed. So she had just been slinking around, not really causing any trouble, and these jack-holes came and grabbed her! Really?! Of course she had fought, fought with all her strength. They were just too powerful. They had muzzled her and threw her in a cage. But no, that just wasn't good enough, apparently the queen was in town, and they had to tie her to the cage also. They loaded her on the truck with like 20 other animals, all slightly unusual, but nowhere near the extent of herself; none had wings, spots, and as far as she could tell no telapathic abilities. When they finally arrived at their destination, she was unloaded and placed it a god-awful room with every creature imaginable. It seemed she was a special customer, so they took her to the 'boss man'. They set her cage on the man's desk and stood back. He scrutinized her carefully, then in an icy voice said, "Unbind her." So they did, and of course Midnight didn't make it easy. After some struggling, though, they stood back again and she was in all her glory, standing as dignified as one can while in a cage. He motioned for them to leave, and broght his face close to hers. She snarled and flattened her ears, glaring at him. She hoped he didn't try anything funny; there was little enough time for that, since the noises in the hallway drew his attention. The man looked up sharply, then slipped a dagger in the sleeve of his suit. Smiling at Midnight, he said "Well now, it seems someone will pay a pretty penny for you dear." She lowered her ears again at his voice. It seemed the intruder in the hallway knew what he was doing, as the sounds of battle moved closer and closer. The man paled and his lips were set in a thin line. He strides over to his desk, sat, and began to do paperwork. (Hope its ok if i control the boss man…and whats the name of the color Oki uses for his posts? Its like a turquoise color, but when i typed that in for this post this is the color that came up. The guards were no match for Joseph, and soon he was at the door, but before he could bust it open, the man he sought opened it, gesturing for him to come in. Well this was a surprise.. sort of. He knew better than to let his guard down.
He glanced toward the desk where there was a cage containing a black wolf. Well, she was a pretty thing. He frowned. So, she was worth more than putting in the cages in the basement below with all the rest. His fiery gaze turned toward the big man who had taken a seat on the edge of his desk and was gesturing toward the wolf in the cage, going on about where they'd found her and how they'd caught her and finally asking him if he was interested.
Joseph scowled. "Spare me." He pointed his blade at the others throat. "C'mon, Blake. We both know why I'm here. Spit out the information I want. Where. Is. She?!"
The man scowled, "You'll have to be more specific. I don't remember every little creature I come across. Nor do my men." He went around the desk, sitting in his seat and leaning back, lacing his fingers behind his head. Clearly a man of confidence and power. Though his fear still showed in his eyes and face despite his mannerisms.
"Taurë, the little red fox. She was here for me."
"I don't have her, fool. She probably got kicked around, maybe even turned into a nice fur cap and you're blaming me for my business."
Joseph sneered, eyes glowing and a large ball of flame danced across his fingers. "You scum! I'll mark your face with irreversible damage!"
Blake stood and backed up slightly. "Look, I don't have your fox, okay? My guards will be in that door any moment. Get. Out."
Joseph lowered his arm. "I do not fear you. Or your filthy men." He turned, looking like he would leave, but then he suddenly whirled, a path of flame forming across the floor between the man and his desk. Blake leaped back, covering his face and shouting for his guards. In that moment, Joseph leaped toward the cage, opening the door. "C'mon! Let's get out of here!" he urged, moving swiftly toward the door and flinging it open. He burst out into the hallway. He looked at the wolfess, hoping she could understand him. She seemed intelligent. "Stay close to me. I'm busting you out of here. You'll be money out of that scumbag's hands." He winked and gave her a grin before he faced forward, just as a wave of guards came at him, bullets flying.
His blades were a whir as he dodged this way and that, cutting down one after the other and covering the ground swiftly. Soon they were at the elevator and once inside, they would descend for a moment of peace before the doors would open and face the guards once more.

Midnight looked up from her rope-gnawing to the newcomer. It seems he was the one this man calles Blake feared. She watched the precedings with caution, not even flinching when the flame cut a path next to her. She lept out of the cage as he commanded, and faced the oncoming guards with him. She didn't fear them, and it was odd how she could predict his actions befire they happened. She was barley panting when they got in the elevator. She looked up and him, and said in his mind, "Thank you for saving me." The next wave of guards was easy, and when they were taken care of she waites for him to take the lead.

An amateur would relax once in the elevator, thinking, 'We've made it to a safety zone!' But Joseph knew what he was doing, and he knew this fight wasn't over yet. He was going over the plan in his mind, calculating what action he would take next. Then, she spoke. Wait.. no... it was her voice, he was certain. But it filtered into his mind like an abstract thought. He hadn't been expecting that.
He glanced down at her and smiled. "No problem.. we're not out of here yet, though," and with that he heard the 'ding' of the elevator as it reached the bottom floor. It opened, and the hallway was full of armed and ready guards. He had been ready, and pushing back against the wall he leaped forward, daggers slicing as he broke through their wall. He assumed this wolf would know to continue to stay close and they began back out into the lobby of the building, fighting off one guard after the other.

"Oh trust me, I know." She replied with a chuckle. Her muscles were as tensed as his was. She eagerly awaited when the door would open; she hadn't fought like this is a while. While Midnight waited for the ding that would signal the bottom floor, she stepped a little closer and licked his hand. "It's good to have a friend of a different race, yea?" When the doors opened she leapt into the fray, fighting side by side with her rescuer.
((Sp fir that last word? It wouldn't show on my phone :/))

She had one target. Just one person to take out and his plans would be destroyed. But of course her plans had to be ruined. It could never be easy for her. She had carefully studied a map of the building and even planned out her route.
Skye waited at the front of the building, watching the receptionist and waiting for her evening cigarette. Once the receptionist was gone, she would slide past her desk and up the stairs that led to Blake’s office. Once she was inside his office it would be an easy kill. A slash to the throat, a simple through of the knife, a fall of the window… But her plans were shattered when someone walked into the building. Just a buyer, she thought. Wrong. He was more like the reason her plan was messed up.
Not even a minute after the man walked in the alarms went off. “I guess that’s my que,” she scoffed. She got up from the car she was hiding behind and dashed into the building. The place was packed with guards. He sure does make a lot of money. As a guard rushed toward her, she pulled out her knifes and began to slice at the guard. He fall and another one charged for her. Out of the corner of her eye she could see the man running up the stairs. Maybe I should follow him, she thought. He could be here for the same reason I am. Skye jumped up and landed on the receptionists desk. She flinched, but didn’t make any movements toward her. When Skye turned her head and the receptionist saw her eye, she screamed. Sky jumped again , landing in front of the stairs where the man had gone, and knocked down a couple of guards.
The stairs were long, ended by a door that led to a hallway with only one other door. Just as the map had shown her. When she got to the top of the stairs, the door was closing and Skye could see the man running towards Blake's office. Maybe he will kill him. At least that will keep my hands from getting dirty. And although it was her mission, and she truly wanted to kill him herself, the last thing she needed was people chasing after her.
A few minutes later the man ran out of the office, a wolf by his side. But it wasn't her wolf. It wasn't the reason she was here. And the man did not kill him. She could still hear him yelling at the guards, telling them to go after the man. Joseph. That is what Blake called the man. No time to think about that now. It was a straight shot to the office. So she went for it. The door was slightly open so she peeked in. He was sitting at his desk talking on the phone with someone. She slipped her knife and aimed it at Blake. It was an easy shot. She hit him in the heart. But she slipped inside, took the knife out and slit his throat to make sure he would be dead.
Skye ran down the stairs, both knives in her hands, bracing herself for the guards that are now fighting to kill.

In truth, Joseph was rather unaware of another person in the building - another enemy of the man running it. So he would be unaware of his death until much later. But regardless, he became aware of it as he noticed the guards thin and heard other commotion elsewhere. He was curious, but knew he should seize the chance to get the heck out of there. It was obvious the one he was looking for wasn't there either so there was no point in staying other than to hack down a few more guards. He hated this business and couldn't understand why anyone would want to work it. They saw animals - especially magical ones as nothing more than a high penny for their bottomless pockets.
Just a bit closer... almost to the doors...
Finally they were out on the street where he knew the guards would simmer down some. They didn't want to draw too much attention or else lose customers. Little did they know it would soon be pointless anyway.
Joseph turned and ran, not stopping until he turned a corner for an alley way with various stacked crates and a large empty dumpster. He peered around the corner, looking around for anyone following them and then turned to look at the wolf he had rescued. "You okay?" he asked, then after a pause, "What's your name?"

Midnight felt the other presence, since itbwas different, but she discarded it as the receptionist. They were already behind the crates when she felt Blake's life extinguished. Then she relized who the female was. She snapped out of her thoughts when Joeseph asked her if she was alright. She only nodded in response. "My name is Midnight. Joeseph, someone else came in seaking revenge, and they killed Blake. We should go back and help her. And I have a feeling that Taurë is in there somewhere." She took a step forward, hoping he would agree and come with her.

Skye reached the bottom of the stairs, out of breath. By now the guards were thinned out, probably upstairs, finding the dead body of their boss. Skye smiled. At least one part of her mission was done. Now all she had to do was rescue all the animals. But by now, she had forgotten how to get to the basement. She knew there were two ways. One inside, one outside. She knew where the outside entrance was, but the problem would be to get outside without being seen. As she watched the guards, who were still unaware of her presence, she noticed they were making some sort of line. Now she knew how to get out, but where to start. She quickly scanned the lobby. The receptionists desk! It was a clear run.
Skye began to run as fast as she could, which was impossibly fast for any human, toward the receptionists desk. Once she was close enough, she jumped on top of it. Without stopping, she jumped onto the closest guards shoulders, then to another pair of shoulders. She continued doing so until she reached the door, which was conveniently open. Once she jumped off the last shoulder, she landed on the ground and continued to run. She knew the guards would be after her so she needed a place to hide. She looked to her right and saw an alley way. Perfect!, she thought. She ran toward the alley and noticed an awning about a foot long. Once she was near the alley, she jumped on top of a dumpster and onto the awning. Skye was glad she wasn't scarred of heights, or else she would be freaking out. It was at least 17 feet in the air and almost impossible to reach the dumpster from the angle. But she was safe because no human could jump as high as she did.
Once Skye began to catch her breath it dawned on her that she heard a wolf speaking. And it was fairly close. Perhaps it was even nearby. She began to scan her surroundings. Sure enough it was the same wolf. And the man is with her.

He was glad to finally know her name, and he agreed. He was somewhat curious about the woman as well aside from the fact he had a similar feeling as Midnight did, though he was unaware anyone else might feel such. The thought about Taurë, though. He was certain Midnight was wrong on that one. He hadn't seen her anywhere in the basement with the other animals and he hadn't felt like she was there at all once he realized what had actually been in Blake's office... or rather who, he supposed. Aside from the fact he was pretty certain this Midnight probably hadn't met Taurë and thus wouldn't have a solid sense of her. Still, he was worried.
In any case, it seemed like they weren't given much time to talk... or really go back for that matter as the woman all of a sudden turned the corner to the alley and was leaping above them and then along the building. Joseph glanced at Midnight, giving a brief nod, hoping she would understand what he meant... or was thinking. To follow after the woman and see what she was up to - perhaps help if possible.
Taking a few steps back, Joseph easily used the crates and the dumpster as leverage and leaped up himself, waiting a brief moment for Midnight, if she followed, before trailing after the woman. It was clear Joseph wasn't just any normal human either. At this point, he didn't make an effort to call out to her or draw attention. Besides, he had a feeling she would know they followed even if they did try to hide it. At least, without hiding it magically that is. It didn't really matter... they seemed to be on the same side. Perhaps. In any case, for now he just followed, curious to what she would do.

Midnight barked a laugh, and launched herself up into the air and flew after them. She stayed above Joeseph, and watched for anyone up on the rooftops. She would follow them until they got back to the destination, doing whatever needed to be done or whatever they asked of her. ((Sorry for the shortness ^^ )

"You're not human are you?" It was the only thing she could think of. She was now on top of a building, overlooking the city. There was no human capable of leaping onto the building's roof. But he could say the same for her. And there was no point of hiding her eye, for he could clearly see the reflection. Just like a wolf.
Above the man a wolf hovered. It was the same wolf that she had seen in the crate. Perhaps this man had the same intention as her. Kill Blake and free the animals. Below, near Blake's building, guards were marching into different directions. They were looking for her, or maybe the man. Skye walked to edge of the building, watching as a couple of guards marched past, not even bothering to look up. Skye sighed and swung her legs over the edge of the building and sat. She didn't know what to don now. She could Ask the man to help her rescue the animals. or she could leave all of them behind and save herself. No, she thought to herself. I'm not that kind of person.
