Spring was coming and the air outside was warm. Ryleigh decided she would take a walk to the lake, maybe get her paws a little wet and try to cool off. Her thick fur coat had her panting by the time she could see Mizu lake in sight. Ryleigh continued to pad along, knowing the reward for making it to the cool water would be high. Ryleigh crouched and pounced when she was close enough, landing into the water with a splash and sending water all around her. She dipped her head into the coolness, letting out a sigh of relief when she had surfaced. She decided she would swim around a little, getting her coat nice and cool. Ryleigh started to wade further out into the lake until her paws no longer touched the sand of the bottom. Ry could feel her temp cooling down as she swam around. With a roll, Ry was on her back and gently floating around in the water. She closed her eyes and hummed softly to herself, enjoying the sun and the cool water all at the same time.

Cercius smirks to himself as he sits up in the tree overlooking the cool lake, watching the wolf play round as if it hadn't a care in the world. He takes his recorder from the jacket he wears. In contrast to all his other clothes, which are practically rags that only serve to keep his modesty, the jacket is tough, dark green leather, pockets filling every available space, including the small sheath on his arm for the simple wooden instrument he now toys with. "Should I wait for her to notice I wonder, or should I alert her?" he muses, tapping the mouthpiece on his lip. "If I say anything, will she cry out? I am trespassing after all, is she one of them?"
His mind continues to plot out a plan of action should she be hostile, but the thought of attacking a female disturbed him, "To Wolfbane with it all." He blows gently into the recorder, letting out a peaceful, if slightly depressing melody, letting her know he was here. If it had been a howl in Wolfen, it would have been a howl of permision to enter the territory.

Ryleigh had been floating when she heard a haunting melody floating through the wind. Her ears stood up and she stopped where she was, rolling onto her belly. Ryleigh swam into land until her paws squished into the soft sand of the lake. She wasn't sure who was playing the melody, but the wind showed her where they were located.
Ryleigh hoped whoever it was came in peace, as she was not up for a fight. She was rather relaxed from her dip in the lake. "Whose there?" Ryleigh called out into the open space toward the direction of her visitor. Her ears could still hear the melody that was playing as she spoke out. Ry wondered if whomever was there was watching her and knew she was there. That's a little creep. Watching someone with them not even aware your there.

Cercius raises an eyebrow, her tone not quite understandable to his inferior human ears. "Anger? Suspicion? Or is she just curious?" he wonders, motionless in the tree. "Will she understand human the way I can understand her words? Will she understand my inflections? More importantly, what do I smell of to her?" He sheathes his recorder, closing the metal clasp closed to keep it safe before taking the Ocarina from the string on his neck, using it to send a "Howl" of peace and assurance before calling out in his own, rough voice. "I hate this, if I could control myself, I'd change to communicate better..." "Perhaps I should ask the same of you Vulf, but you asked first. Ash nom es Cercius oh Otonami, Ah es ou oh sarh." he calls, the dry language of humans, but slips back into a more expressive language of his homeland. "En Vo-...And you? he corrects himself, smiling slightly as he adjusts his position in the tree, a stray twig poking his back.
(( He said: "My name is Cercius of Otonami, I am here for peace", basically, he said where he came from and that he means no harm. ))

Ryleigh waited for an answer. Time passed slowly as if it was moving threw a fine sieve. She didn't know for sure who she would find there, or why they were there. She head a howl like noise from the tree. Ry's ears feel back a little but she understood the howl. It was a howl of peace, telling her that this new-comer was safe. Ryleigh relaxed a little until she heard the deep growls of a male voice. She focused on the sound of the voice and could tell it was a male. He was speaking a form of human talk, one that she had heard used before.
Ryleigh was able to make out what he was saying. She didn't know how much she would be able to understand of it but she would try. He must of understood her, as his answer was one that answered her own Question. Ryleigh made her way to the beach and shook out her coat a little. Water sprayed in all directions, getting the sand around her wet. She then sat in the sand facing the tree the male was in. "I'm Ryleigh of the Shinkou pack of which whose land you are on." Ryleigh tried to keep her voice light, not wanting the male to think she was being rude. She kept her posture open as well, her ears upright on her head and her tail swishing in the sand behind her. "Can you show yourself to me? So that i may have a body to speak to." Ryleigh felt weird talking to a tree. He was hidden well from her view by branches and leaves and she would feel a little better if her were to come out.

Cercius watches Ryleigh emerge from the water, the hair on the back of his neck rising as she approaches the tree. "She'll kill you, you're an abomination, you don't deserve to live." "Shut up! You don't know that! She might be kind!" He shakes his head, concentrating on the Wolf's speech. She was closer now, looking straight at the tree where he had been reclining. Piecing her growl together, he determines that she is part of the dominant pack of these lands. "Will she attack me if I reveal myself? If I show her what I am?" It was a chance he was prepared to take. "Of course Drappa, though I must first ask you not to judge what you see, I am not-..." He thinks for a moment, searching for words. "I am not what I seem..." he says, pulling himself to his feet, bare feet slipping and sliding on the mossy bark as he steadies himself on the main trunk, getting ready to start the descent.

Ryleigh could hear the hesitation in his voice and she frowned. She never took herself to be someone to judge others. She was often judged without a second thought and she knew how it felt. That was why she always tried not to judge others in the same manor. Ryleigh thought she may of herd a slight sadness in his voice as well. "I won't judge you. You can stay further away for now if you want, i wont mind." Ryleigh's ears fell back on her head and her tail stopped moving. She knew that he didn't know her and therefore she understood why he was hesitant. Ryleigh tried to breath deeply as she waited to see him. She had so many things ruining through her head as to why he was afraid of her judgement. Did he have a third eye or maybe was missing a toe. She was use to wolves of all shapes and sizes but there was always a chance he wasn't a wolf. If that was the case, Ry would be more curious then anything. She wasn't use to many creatures that weren't wolf and for that aspect she was a little excited. Ry liked meeting new people, no matter what shape or size. He seemed nice and Ry felt it stupid to judge him and miss out on an amazing person just because of what he looked like.

Cercius nods, slipping down the branches with agility uncommon even for human hunters. Landing on his feet, he allows his legs to fold, almost immediately falling into a sitting position so that his eyes were level with hers, though avoiding contact. "Well, this is me, how will you react?" he thinks, biting his lip quietly as he awaits appraisal. "You see me in this body now, and I apologise for that..." he mutters, loud enough for her to hear clearly, but quiet enough to not frighten her. "Ah es Vulfen, nort Man..."

Ryleigh heard the snapping of twigs. She didn't move her body any though, for fear of making the male uncomfortable. Ryleigh watched as a peach colored paw appeared, followed by another. The male in a fluid motion was seated before her and Ryleigh looked him over for a moment. She cocked her head to the side a little and stood up. She hadn't seen many humans before, only one or two and only from afar. Ry made her way to him slowly, making sure to hold eye contact. When she was close enough to touch him, she leaned over slightly, just enough to poke him in the chest with her snout. His skin was soft against her moist nose, and the hairs tickled a little. Ryleigh then leaned over again and sniffed across his chest, curious as to his scent.
When Ryleigh realized how rude she had been she quickly stepped back and few feet. She blushed deeply and bowed her head in embarrassment. "I'm so sorry for being so forward like that, it was terribly rude of me. I told you i wouldn't get close and i just came right over here and stuck my nose on you." Ryleigh sat with her ears back on her head and looked off into the distance. She was muttering under her breath at herself, for being so rude. "You just met Cercius and you just come over and take a big whiff. You were raised better then that. He told you he was afraid of how you would react and you just pounce on him like hes your new friend." Ryleigh finally looked back at the male, this timing speaking to him. "I understand if you can't forgive my rudeness. My curiosity got the best of me and i just wanted to know how you smelled i guess." She let out a sigh and shook her head.

Cercius tenses as she bounds towards him. "See! I told you she'd kill us!" Suddenly, her jaws were at his neck, biting down-
No, wait... She was... "Smelling me!?" he thinks, both incredulous and relieved. Her cold nose runs over his thinly clothed chest, the jacket hanging open and nothing stood between her wet nose and his warm skin, her quiet snuffles tickling his chest and illiciting a quiet chuckle, his whole body relaxing and a smile spreading across his face. "How long since I felt this way?" he wonders, straining himself to not pull her into a human hug, "She's so friendly, even to Vulfen, though I appear and smell human, she is unafraid of me..." he thinks.
He gives up trying to restrain himself as she obviously had no intention of backing off, but just as he leans in to to bury his hands in her soft fur, something he had lacked for so long, she backed away, apologising. His face drops for a moment, almost grunting from the loss. "Pathetic, you're like a child!" Cercius sits up straight again, recovering from his sudden pang of loss in an instant, replacing the fragile mask with another as he listened to her apologetic growling with a sombre nod. "I cannot blame you for your nature, Drappa. Do not believe I could take offense for your actions, after all, I am the intruder. By rights of my land, I'd be dead by now, lying dead on the sand with my entrails hanging out. You have spared my life, and I should be thanking you, no matter how you treat me, which, regardless, was not insulting in the slightest..." "Oh by Fenris, you are rambling again!" Cercius closes his eyes, biting his tongue to stop his speech. "Why do I always do this...?"

Ryleigh listened as he rambled on. She giggled softly, trying not to disturb him. She was glad to see he was okay with her intrusion. She really hadn't meant to be rude but he seemed to be okay with her actions. Her giggles got louder as she watched him close his eyes and his mouth. He must of been as embarrassed by his ramblings as she was by her rude movements. "I'm glad you are not insulted by my forwardness. This time i promise to be more well-mannered." Ryleigh stood again and watched Cercius as she approached. Her steps were slow and methodical until she reached him. She sat down, her red fur brushing against his leg. She leaned in slowly with her snout, aiming to poke the floppy mess on his head. His fur was much different then hers, and she was curious. "May i sniff you some more?"

"She laughs?" he thinks, bemused, "At me? Or at my incessant talking? Tor only knows whether she finds me an idiot, or simply foolish..." His head drops an inch or so in embarrassment, his cheeks reddening as he thinks about what he must look like. "I am an idiot..."he thinks, nodding as she says something about manners, but he couldn't quite translate it with his human mind. "Something about manners... Probably a reprimand..." She takes several steps towards him, her bright red fur brushing his knee. "Ah! I can see colour again! I was wondering when that would return..." She leans slowly in towards him, no threat in her body language or posture, and asks for his permission in her territory, to scent him properly. "What would be the consequences of saying no?" he thinks to himself as she gets uncomfortably close to his long, somewhat unkempt hair. "I am obliged to allow you whatever you wish, I am not permitted a say." he mumbles, eyes closing again, though Ryliegh may notice a flash of lighter green, luminous almost, as he closes them. "Restraint, protection, control."

Ryleigh leaned in stuck her noise into his fluff hair. She sniffed a few times, before dragging her nose around in his hair, sniffing repeatedly. He had a woody scent, mixed with something a little sweet. Ry had heard his comment about being obligated and she figured she would address it when she was finished sniffing. When she was satisfied with her scenting, she pulled back and looked at him with big, innocent bright green eyes. "You are not obligated to give me anything." Ryleigh cocked her head to the side as she said this. "I wouldn't be offended if you had told me know." Ryleigh knew these were her pack lands, but she was never one to chase away a newcomer. Especially if that newcomer was nice and humble. Ryleigh shuffled a little closer to him still, this time she was practically in his lap. What such a strange creature, nothing like i have ever smelt similar too. He has a strange twang in his scent. "What brings you all the way out here?" Ryleigh had since forgotten about the heat and why she had come out here. She was interested in making a new friend now. She hadn't made that many since coming to this new place and she was always excited to see someone new. Ryleigh felt her tail start to wag behind her, dragging dirt and grass with it.

A smile spreads across his face, a serene expression as she noses his hair. "Can she smell what I am? he wonders, his own nose flareing to take in her scent as he resists the urge to take her in his arms. "Like I used to hold Bran...." The memory stings, but he does not flinch, not today. And yet... She pulls away to look at him, her eyes even bigger and brighter than his, and speaks gently to him. "I understand the meaning, if not the words at least..." he thinks, smiling slightly as she steps closer, repositioning slightly so she doesn't step on his crotch when she next takes a step. "She has a kind soul..." "What brings you all the way out here?" "Ah! I understood that sentence! But... Where to begin?" "Would you like to tell me where to begin? My homeland, these lands, or merely being out of Abunage, the home of humans?" he asks. Each one was a story in it's own right, but he wouldn't tell this wolf stories, he'd tell her truth. "She deserves that much..."

Ryleigh cocked her head to the side at his answer. She hadn't realized there were two versions of the story. "Which ever you prefer to tell me i guess. I'm will to listen to both if you have the time to tell me." Ryleigh didn't mind listening. She was curious about him. Ry could tell there was something different about him other then just being human. She couldn't understand why a human would be running around these parts anyway so he must of had a good reason behind being here. Maybe his story will be full of fantasy and things even i couldn't imagine. Maybe he has had this great adventure and stopped here on his journey. Ryleigh felt her eyes grow big as she thought about all the possibilities as to how he ended up here. Ryleigh felt her ears fall back a little though, as she thought about something else. He could also be here because of great tragedy. Maybe he was forced from his home, or something is chasing him and he is running for his life. Ryleigh shock her head slightly, not liking the story. She was starting to like Cercius and she didn't want him to turn out to be a villain. She wanted him to be the hero in his story, just like he deserved. Ryleigh decided either way, she would sit patiently and wait for his story if he was willing to grace her with them.
