"I see." She suddenly pounced in a bush, flushing out a dozen birds. Poking her head through it, she smiled slightly as she looked upon a nest of baby birds, who stared quietly at her, as if she would eat them. "They're so cute and fuzzy."

Myrror smiled. "Aren't they? I never eat babies... Better to let them grow, I think."

"I don't think I could ever eat babies. I would feel bad because what if my babies were eaten? It wouldn't be very nice, would it?" she questioned, nudging one with her nose, only to get a peck from a sharp beak.

Myrror shook her head. "No, it wouldn't." She smiled. "They wouldn't make more than a mouthful, anyway."

"They wouldn't even be a snack." she laughed, backing away from the bush, turning around as they started to chirp eagerly for their mother to feed them. "Noisy though, aren't they?"

"They sure are." Myrror shook her head. "Surprisingly loud for such small creatures."

"Makes you wonder if you were that loud when you were a baby." Kyra mused, chasing after a bright yellow butterfly.

Myrror frowned. "I don't think I was," she said. "But who knows?" She glanced up at the small birds. "I think they're noisy so their parents can find them..."

"But if you poke your head in," she put hers through the bush once more, the babies quieting. "They don't make a sound." She backed out of the bush, shaking the leaves from her fur.

"Maybe..." Myrror cocked her head, staring at the birds. "Maybe that's supposed to be a defense against predators?" she suggested.

"Not a very good one, if you can see them." Kyra stated, jumping back as the mother bird poked at her head. "Not very nice, is she?" Kyra muttered, bounding away from the bush and down the forest path that she had made.

Myrror grinned. "No," she said, racing after Kyra.

She continued to race through the darkened forest, the moon starting to come out, flushing out nesting birds on the way, and other little creatures. She came to a hault as she spotted a doe with a fawn, sleeping quietly. "Don't see many big animals around here."

Myrror eyed the deer for a moment. "I wonder why that is?" she said. "It seems like there's enough plant life to support at least a few."

"Yes, but there aren't enough shelters for everyone." she stated. "Only for the little creatures." she motioned toward a squirrel that scampered across the grass. "They are probably just passing through.
