She looked warmly at him. Seeing his leg, she smiled. "I see you have taken care of it. How are you?" She moved to sit by him. She looked up untill her eyes fell upon Luke. She sighed and then returned her attention to Kindare. Her bushy tail wagged slightly and curled around her hinds. Her silvery fur seemed to shine like diamonds in a dark mine. Saphire blue eyes looked around her, shifting from Luke to his brother and shifting back again.

Luke was still asleep, his eye patch slipping until finally it fell away. What was revealed was an eyeless socket. The hideous scar and loss of an orb seriously harmed the other wise handsome mascuile.
Kindare slowly rose and limped over to his brother. Softly he nudge the patch back over their eye and looked back to the femme. "I am fine now.."

She had seen Luke before his brother had fixed it. "That is good. What happened, to him I mean?"

Kindare looked at her for a moment and sighed. "Me and Luke. Well we had a battle to determine who would be the leader. He lost his eye. And I lost half my ear and two of my ribs. It was then we decided that together we work better than if one of us rules the other."

She nodded, "Yes," was all she said. She trotted over and sat down by him and Luke. "You two really do do well together I will say. And you didn't exactly tell me about your other brother. You nephew is certainly a cute little lively fellow." She did not feel it was the need to tell him what his nephew had asked her, at least not yet.

With a sigh Kindare slowly sat on his haunches. "Well me and Rivertail don't exactly see eye to eye on things. I say that he should stop babying Birchclaw and let me and Luke raise the boy for a few seasons. But he doesn't want to let go..he, unlike me, wants to keep his ex's memory..."

"I understand," she said softly meeting Kindare's gaze, with understanding eyes. She smiled. "Of course, the boy would be a strong fellow, if he were raised by you for a while but then again, some like softer wolves better, which is where his father comes in. So what about Rivertail's ex?"

Kindare simply shrugged to her statements. His shredded ears perked to her question. "She died. And he came with me when I moved. Birchclaw was only a few weeks old then."

"So I suppose you two can support each other then, as you know what it is like to lose someone you love." Kara looked off, and her gaze became distant. She remembered something from long ago...
She stood, watching the sunset, sink away. It was after a long battle and they had defeated the enemy. A rustle had been heard and she had turned to see a messenger approaching from the wood behind her. He had a look of saddness in his eyes, indicating the sad message he would give.
She had approached boldly, ready for whatever he might say. He had told her that her mate had died in battle, had given his life to save others. She had taken in deeply, had mourned for a while. She had risen and looked out distantly often. Her parents had said there was no hope.
She soon got over it and had almost forgotten it. One day another battle had come. It was long and hard and they had lost many. She had found out that her brother had died, but she had not taken it so hard. She had learned to be strong, bold, and fearless. She had learned to accept whatever happened and to be proud of those who died in battle. She had been proud of her lost mate, but had decided not to live with it any more. She had left in search of a new pack. One that was piecefull, and in her search had run into Kindare and Luke, which was where she was now. All this had happened withing the last six months, and was still very fresh in her mind.
Suddenly a breeze swept past her and she snapped back. She looked at Luke with a slightly sad and confused look. "I myself know."

Kindare looked upon her for a moment and slowly reclined against the stone. "My teacher, and the wolf who raised me. Well he told me that a warrior can be strong and dead at the same time. He told me that many times and I thought over it. It means that a warrior is not truly alive unless they live in every aspect. When.." Suddenly he darted up and snarled. "Shit."
Sometime a during Kindare's little speech Luke had woken up. "I smell him too. It's best if we get out of here and gain some distance. If they have Savage we won't be able to hide."

She looked at him questioningly, jerking up and hurrying to follow along. "What's going on?" she asked, panting as she raced along.

Luke kept running silently, darting between the trees.
Kindare growled at his brother and ran as fast as he could, which was extremely swift. "Damn you Luke. I told you they wouldn't like it when we stole their food. If they catch us they'll kill us. Even if they are 'Defenders'."
Quickly behind the small group two gray wolves gained on them. One was small and wirey and the other was tall and majestic. Light shone off the gold marks on their right shoulders as the continued to gain on the others.

Kara was completely confused, but she had nothing to do but follow them. She raced so that she swiftly, and gracefully went along, not a second behind Luke and his brother.

Suddenly the trees parted and the group was faced with a tall, unscaleable cliff face. Kindare swore loudly and turned around swiftly.
Luke bellowed out menacingly. "Kara! Get behind us now! These wolves will kill you."
Slowly as Luke finished his sentace those two gray furred wolves crept from the forest snarling. One had that sort of regalness among him. Yet his companion had his head low to the ground and was snarling viciously. Froth bubbled at that creature's mouth

"I'm better than that." she said loudly, and moved to stand beside Luke, trusting him more. She lowered her head and growled furosciously. "I came from a pack of war, don't doupt me too much." She looked at the others. Why was she helping them if they stole? She quickly shook the thought off, it was too late now to change it.
