All hell broke loose in a matter of moments. The more regal Defender attacked the two brothers. Meanwhile the savage one pounced at Kara. His fangs beared. He would take a swipe at her neck viciously before sidejumping with a duck thrown in there. One thing was for sure, he fought ferociously and swift. He seemed unphased that she was a female.
Meanwhile the brother's thought the other Defender fiercely. Kindare attacked with his brute force as his brother jumped in and snapped at open flesh. Pretty soon the brothers and the Defender were all bleeding severely.

But, as most do, Kara was underestimated. She had been raised in war her whole life. She, being female, was light weight. So she too was swift and feroscious. She dodged his swipe at her neck, and went after him like a raging wild boar. She swirved here and there and slashed after him with deadly jaws and sharp claws. |

The warrior managed to swiftly dodge many of her attackes, even striking at her. Yet when she tore his shoulder he growled viciously and attacked her more powerfully. When one of his head butts missed her and smashed into the cliff a crack slowly ran up the stone.
Kindare and luke fought wildly against the defender. With a crack the marked wolf's rear leg broke clean in two from a blow delt by Kindare. A roar of pain escaped that creature as Luke tore open his chest. With a powerful blow he backswiped Luke, sending him hurtling into the cliff. With a thump he fell to the floor, unconscious. Kindare bellowed out his anger and went to strike.
Above the fight at the top of the cliff Icewolf landed. Softly he eased his mate off his back and looked down to see Kindare about to deal a fatale blow to the defender. Quickly he bellowed out at the top of his voice. "Atsu!" Kindare flinched up at the word and looked up defiantly. He looked to his brother one time and ran off before he knew the enevitable came.

Kara was surprised at the crack of the stone, and was thankful the warrior had missed. She looked around and shruged. Not knowing what else to do, she dashed after Kindare. Catching him, she ran alongside his shoulder. "What the heck is going on. Just stop and tell me, please." With that, she pulled in front of him, blocking his path, attempting to force him into a stop.
Antarctica landed softly on her paws beside Icewolf. She looked around and watched as the other female dashed away. She looked up at Icewolf. Then she looked at the others. More asking them, she spoke. "What happened? Why did they run? What is going on?" Her mind was full of question, and she sat down quietly next to her mate. |

Kindare snarled and leapt deftly over her. He wanted to get as far away from Icewolf as he could. Soon the splint on his leg snapped and he tumbled down. The masculine didn't even bother to get up as he shook, sobs coming from him. "First he takes my mate..and then my brother. I'll kill him! I HATE HIM!"
Softly Icewolf kissed his mate and nuzzled her warmly. "I will explain everything in a short while. Why don'y you go help Savage bring Falchion back to the Defender's home. I'll be there shortly with the...prisoner." He didn't seem to be particularly enjoying how things were working out. Yet the warrior managed to loose himself within his love's eyes for a moment before kissing her and soaring down to the ground below.
Savage, who's name told how he fought, slowly went over to Falchion, the one with the broken leg. Slowly he poked them with a paw. "You ok bud?"
Falchion growled and winced. "That damn pup. I remember when he was just to my knee. I tought him that move. He used my own move on me."

Kara was confused. "What are you talking about. Who?" She ran swiftly alongside him, keepng up to his strides. She winced as he tumbled, running to his side. "Tell, me, how can I help you." She didn't know what to do, but she now desperately wanted to help Kindare.
Antarctica nuzzled her mate and nodded, trusting him completely. She dashed down to do as her mate had requested, slowly leading the other wolves back to the secret place where Icewolf had shown her when they had first met. |

Kindare stayed on the ground and continued to shake. "That Icewolf! He was the reason my mate left me! Now he has Luke! They'll kill Luke! Maybe not Icewolf but the others will."
With the help of Antartica, Savage and Falchion made it to the Defender's hall. Slowly they went into a room and set Falchion on the floor. After a while Savage collapsed on the floor panting.
Icewolf wasn't far behind, the limp form of Luke on his back. Quickly he tossed the unconscious wolf into a chamber and a boulder rolled as he nudged it, blocking the entrace. Slowly he went back and sat beside Antartica. "Kindare is going to be here soon to get his brother..he will be very mad."

"You stay here and be safe, I will do what I can to help Luke. I'll be back for you with him, so don't worry." With that she turned and quickly dashed back to where she had last seen everyone. Seeing them gone, she quickly began following their scent until she reached the place where their hideout was. She glared at the place where she knew they were, but she could not figure out where they had gone. Their scent went below ground, but where was the place to tunnel.
Antarctica looked into her mate's eyes. "Now, will you tell me everything?" she asked questioningly. She was glad they had made it safely. She wondered if the old stuff would start where everyone came around asking the male to introduce her. She ignored that thought and looked again at her mate. She sat down beside him, and nuzzled him, looking hopefully and lovingly into his eyes. |

Softly Icewolf nuzzled his mate and kissed her lips. "That wolf who ran off is Kindare, my sort of adoptive son. He blames me for his mate leaving because me and him had to leave on urgent notice and he couldn't find her to tell her. We were gone a long time and she left him for another. That wolf in the other room is Luke, his brother. If I know Kindare he will come here and do anything to get his brother back. He won't even stop at trying to kill me. Yet the reason he ran is he knows I am stronger than him. But I do not wish to fight him.."
After a while Kindare limped towards her, his leg resplinted. He looked to the oak and crawled beneath it. Obviously he knew exactly where to go and what to do as he pushed the boulder at the right angle to open it.

Kara watched him. "I thought you were going to wait. Oh well, at least wait for me." she whispered. She took one last look around before diving in the whole after Kindare. "And after this, you have to tell me everything. ok."
The kiss tasted like honey on her lips. She pondered the story. "Well, I can understand why he feels that way. But, you two should work things out if you get the chance. Perhaps if you had someone else around, you wouldn't fight because that someone else would make sure it happened right. But I don't know."
She suddenly looked up. She sensed the presence of others. "I think he is coming now, and he's got that other female with him." She looked back at the other two defenders. "Will you two be ok?" she asked. She turned her head and met her mates gaze. |

Icewolf pondered her words before smiling. "You are very smart my love. I will try that if I get the chance." His ears perked as he heard the boulder slam shut after the intruders. Deeply he kissed his mate. "Wait here with Savage my love. I will be fine." Quickly he darted out of the room.
Kindare's voice boomed down the hall as he smashed decorations in his fury. "ICEWOLF! Give me my brother!" The furied wolven growled as he saw his adoptive father step out into the hall.

Kara was not far behind Kindare. "Kindare, wait. Let me ask you something, please?" she looked at him with hopeful inocent eyes. And again stood in front of him.
"Icewolf, wait. Can I not come along?" she asked, catching up to his side. "Or do I really need to stay back?" she looked into his eyes. |

Kindare looked down to Kara for a moment, uneasy at being so close to his adoptive father. "What?"
Icewolf looked back at her lovingly, his liquid eyes gazing into her's. "I do not want you to get hurt my love. I don't think I could live if anything happened to you."

"Well, why don't you just handle things differently for once. Don't be so angry. Try to handle things softly first, and then if it doesn't work out then go into a battle. What if he lured you down here for a reason. Shouldn't you find it out before being your natural murderous self?" She looked calmly into his eyes, not moving. "Just try it, please?" She slowly began to wag her tail, but only slightly, and a warm smile came to her face.
She nodded. "I understand my love," she said softly, "I just wanted to see something. I will see you later." With that, she turned and trotted back to the room. "Be safe," she called. "I don't want to loose you either." She walked in and lay down, near the other two. She rested her head on her paws and sighed. She impatiently waited for her mate's return. |

Kindare looked at Icewolf then back to Kara. "But he.." He was cut off by the sounds of his brother's groans of soreness from the room.
Icewolf meerly stood where he was. perhaps in another time he would have attacked Kindare. Yet he was keeping safe for the sake of his mate.
