The silence of these great mountains was eerie, and yet comforting. Broken only by the occasional cry of one of the great eagles said to live in this region, the silence covered everything like the mist.
A lone figure trekked across these quiet mountain slopes, his sinewy frame partially concealed by the heavy fog. Large steel grey paws fell silently upon cold rock as they carried the mascul across this forboding landscape. He seemed indeed to be a powerful creature, one you would not wish to cross, and yet there was an aura of calmness about him. There was a look of sadness in his crimson orbs.
However, this creature was not fully wolven. Short spines were just barely visible along this creature's back, and a third eye was seen in the middle of his forehead. Claws were retractile, and as of now were fully hidden within soft heavy paws. Tail was held in a relaxed manner, and it was noticeable that this tail was longer than that of a normer wolfen.
Malison was not certain why he had come here. Certainly, it was cold and snowy, though below in the packlands the season was summer. Perhaps... perhaps he had come for the quiet and tranquility, for he was not one that enjoyed being around others. A sigh emanated from his vocals as he gazed across the mountain range to the setting sun.

"Okay, so the trip wasn't all that it was supposed too." she murmured as she began the trip downwards. Coming up the mountain she had expected adventure, fun, something new. All she found was snow. And goats. Lots of goats. Mean goats. She was still sore from where that ram had hit her. She had just wanted to pet one of the kids.
Brilliant flamed hair stood out starkly against the white as black would've. Her form was short, making her seem younger than she was. She seemed normal enough on the front side, but behind her back she was hiding a pair of gossamer wings, tucked warmly in a large coat. Sparkling green orbs took in the scenery as she continued downward, hoping not to fall and slip on some unseen puddle of ice.

The halfbreed growled to himself as nostrils caught the scent of a female of some sort. In an instant he was hidden, crouching behind a large boulder, his steel grey fur blending with the colour of the surrounding rocks.
Of course, should this female be inhuman, she might easily sense the slight demonic aura surrounding him, or at the very least catch his scent. The cool breeze shifted suddenly, and he relaxed a bit, for it now carried his scent away from the female.

Thankfully the snow had stopped and the sun had come out to the point where she could stop and rest for a little while. She had been going for at least two hours on foot. Setting her bag down, she took out a large slice of cold cheese, sliding off her coat and starting for the large boulder to sit and have a bit of food.
Now that her coat was off, large gossamer blue wings shimmered in the sunlight, flaring out like butterfly wings.
Her stomach growled slightly, saying that it would eat itself if she didn't eat. She would've sensed the demonic aura had she not been so hungry. She had eaten the night before, and that was the last time she had eaten.

He stirred slightly as the scent of the food reached him. It had been awhile since he'd eaten. Mountain goats were the only large prey here, and not only were they difficult to catch, their meat was tough and stringy. Other possible prey, of course, were the numerous rodents and small mountain birds, but these were little more than a mouthful for him. He kept hidden, however, merely watching the female.

Putting the coat over one of the smaller boulders, she began to take pieces of the cheese off and popping it into her mouth, shuddering slightly because it was so cold, but it would do. There was other stuff in her bag, such as some dried meat and a vial of fresh water she had managed to find. She would eat the other things later.

Malison could not suppress a soft whine as saliva began to drip from his open maw. Slowly, he slunk out from his hiding place, his outstretched claws scratching against the stone. All three of his crimson eyes were narrowed in a defiant glare at the girl. Unusually long tail was held stiffly in an expression of dominance, and sharp white fangs were bared ever so slightly in a snarl.

She almost dropped the cheese. Stupid her for not noticing the demonic aura first off. Slowly, she tried to get down off the rock while trying to remain calm. "Hey, I don't want a fight." she told him. "I've got some food in my bag, you want it? I'll give it to you if you don't hurt me."

That tail lowered a fraction, and the creature appeared ashamed. "That would be fine," he said quietly. "I'm sorry for frightening you." Claws retreated back into those heavy paws, and he appeared as docile as an ordinary dog.

She let out a soft sigh of relief and scrambled to her bag, afraid he might change his mind. "It's a little dry, but that's all I have." she stated, digging through her bag before coming out with the dry meat. She placed it on the plate and took out a vial, dropping a few drops of water on it to where it puffed up slightly, looking much better than it had earlier. She pushed the plate toward him.

Cranium lowered to allow him to scent the meat. Maw parted, and shining white fangs bit into the meat. Salmon-hued tongue slid out to lick his muzzle when he was fininshed eating. "I thank you," he said politely.

"I'd give anything for you not to eat me." she laughed a little dryly. "You must've been very hungry, huh?" she commented, shivering as she put her coat back on and stood in the snow. She looked around. "Are you all alone?"

An indignant look crossed his face, and he said "I don't eat people." In response to her question, he replied "Yes, I'm all alone."

"Well, technically, I'm not a person." she gave a slight grin. "I'm a faerie." She picked up her bag and her cheese, taking another bite out of it. "I'm sorry, but I don't have anything else you would like."

Eyes focused upon the faerie. "I see," he said. "I've not met many faeries in my time." He sighed, seeming disapointed that she had no more food for him. "Well... I guess I'll try my luck with the goats," he said.
