Lucivar

[Warlock]

The small, slender male lay on the smooth floor of one of the many caverns here. His orange eyes were closed, and his crimson-tipped tail was curled around his small black body. He had come here to seek shelter from the violent storm outside. His own den was far away, too far for him to travel in this kind of weather. His sides rose and fell steadily as he slept.

[Itena]

A pup of warm brown peltage shivered in the cold, orbs light blue of unusual brightness, sense of dizziness from the rain and wind, padded into the cave, and slumped on the ground.

[Warlock]

As the pup wandered into the cave, Lucivar woke. He opened one orange eye and stood, arching his back like a cat. Yawning widely, he padded over to the pup. "Are you alright?" he asked kindly.

[Itena]

The pup nodded, then collapsed on the earth, overwhelmed from being cold and soaked to the bone in fever.

[Warlock]

Lucivar licked the pup's wet fur. "Are you sure?" Normally, he was not given to kindness, but this pup's helplessness made him want to comfort it.

[Itena]

The pup cuddled into the warm fur, feeling the warmth that he needed. The lick gave him a sense of comfort.

//Maybe not.//

His voice was a sense of whisper, a weakness into it as he fell asleep.

[Warlock]

The male shifted uncomfortably as the pup moved closer to him, and he sighed. Somewhat reluctantly, he curled his tail around the small creature in an effort to provide some warmth.

[Itena]

The pup opened his eyes once more, regaining more consciousness, and sensed a discomfort in the older brute.

//Sorry sir if I intruded you//

He padded to the entrance to leave, though still weak.

[Warlock]

Lucivar shrugged. "Don't worry about it," he said. "It's no trouble. I don't live here really."

As the pup turned to leave, the older male snarled suddenly. "What are you thinking?! Don't go out there now! It's hellish weather. You could easily die, a pup like you..."

[Itena]

//You, mean you care for me?//

the pup turned to the male.

//No one has done that before.//

A look of gratefulness filled the eyes of the thankful pup. His tail wagged furiously.

[Warlock]

The small male wrinkled his nose thoughtfully. "I can't imagine that," he said. "I mean, you're a pup. You're cute, and fuzzy." He gestured vaguely with a forepaw. "What's your name, anyway? Mine's Lucivar."

[Itena]

The pup's eyes dropped.

//I..I don't have a name, my p-parents said I-I was too filthy and p-pathetic. They left me for a few days, I don't know what I would of done without you sir Lucivar, sir.//

[Warlock]

"You needn't call me sir," Lucivar said, nuzzling the pup gently. "You poor creature..."

[Itena]

The pup looked at the older male.

//Okay, I'll call you Lucivar then.//

This sense of comfort that was being given to the pup brought him to sheer joy, his tail wagged furiously.

[Warlock]

Lucivar frowned suddenly. "Haven't you even given yourself a name?" he asked.
