A figure trotted along, her coat appearing to be different asorted colors as the sun shone upon it. She breathed in deeply, all the sweet smells around her. Her paws were wet from the sweet dew that still hung upon the morning air. Furns filled her nostrils and birds songs sweetly filled her ears. Her long tail swished about in a cat-like manner. Her tongue lulled, a smile on her face. The grass at her feet swayed about in a gentle morning breeze. Everything seemed to be in a perfect way to her.
Suddenly she turned and began heading up a path. It was a small path, and it appeared to be not very much used. It winded easily along up a large slope. She moved into a run, happily going along. She was young, and she loved nothing more than running along to enjoy the simple things of nature. She gazed around at all the trees and flowers that surrounded her, stopping here and there to sniff one and then to be off again, climbing ever more up the path.
She reached the top, which was in itself a wide, flat place. It was like its own secret land that was hidden except to those who find it. Tall, green grass swayed about as the wind was stronger atop the place. Wild flowers dotted the area, sending their spores out across the land. Bees had not yet awoken to come out and begin the days work of collecting nector, so the flowers scent was strong. Katarina loved to be up early, just to feel the dew and watch the sunrise spread its early rays across the lands. She took another deep breath, and let it out, sending many spores flying. She smiled playfully and trotted up to the edge, looking down, and smiling. She sat down and curled her tail around her hinds, raising her head to watch the first light come over the horizon. She was happy and satisfied, and loved all the things about her.

A slender fox lay hidden in the sweet-smelling grass, his lavender eyes half closed. His grey tail, tipped with cinnamon and white, was curled around his small body for warmth. He raised his head at the sound of the femme's approach. He stood, shaking dew from his grey and cinnamon-hued pelt. His slender jaws opened wide in a yawn, and his small grey paws made hardly a sound as he approached the female.

Katarina perked her ears. She looked around and saw the fox. She smiled. She always had liked company. "Come on," she said, beckoning him and wagging her cat-like tail. She had to admit that she hadn't seen anyone besides prey in a long time, and so she was glad. She stood up and began walking in his direction. "Beautiful morning, isn't it?" she asked, nodding in agreement to her question. "I always like to get up early to watch the sunrise, it is such a wonderful thing." she spoke as if she were half there and half in a dream state. She returned to where she was now, and smiled. "Sorry, I sometimes start to daydream, it's something I also love to do."

Though he was slightly surprised at the female's friendliness, the fox nodded his head in greeting. "Hello," he said. "I'm called Feral." He paused for a moment before continuing. "Did you come here to watch the sunrise?"

"Nice to meet you," she said kindly, "I am Katarina, and yes, I love to do so." She wagged her tail again happily. She watched him for a second and then trotted back to the edge and sat down. She looked out at the sky, with all the pinks, oranges, blues, yellows, and many different colors that filled it with the early rays that the sun spread out. "It is truly wonderful," she said with a smile. "What about you? Do you like the sunrise?" she asked, turning to look at him.

Feral wagged his bushy tail slightly. As the femme went back to the edge, he followed. "No, I prefer the sunset," he said. "I love to watch the brilliant colours fade into black."

She smiled. "Yeah, I do like the sunset, mostly because of the colors. They are so beautiful. But I also like the stars. They are pretty too and they twinkle." She wagged her tail before curling it around her body. "So, do you like to run and play?" she asked with a grin. "I love to, and I also love nature. It is so wonderful." she looked around and then down at the long wide plain below. The grass, though long and thick and lush, looked short from where she sat. "And I also like the water, it is fun to play in, especially on hot days after running for hours." her mind went to memories for a moment and then her blue orbs looked at him, and she smiled.

Feral grinned, showing small sharp teeth. "I've never been much of one for playing," he said. "But nature... I'll have to agree with you there; it's wonderful."

She gave him a grin, the sunrise about turned into morning sun. "Come on," she said, turning back towards the path that had taken her atop this place she was now. She began trotting down it, looking over her shoulder to see if he were coming along. She again went slowly, breathing in all the furns and flowers and barking and yipping as she went happily down. Her cat-like tail wagged puppyishly in excitement. She was glad of all around her. "This place is so beautiful and so wonderfully healthy," she said, stopping to roll around in the grass. She sat up and looked about before again taking off at a trott, exploring and examining everything, afterall, she was new to the lands.

He shrugged and trotted after her, his bushy tail slowly waving back and forth. He couldn't help liking this playful creature, and it had been awhile since he had talked to anyone.

She smiled at the fact he was coming along. She pounced playfully along, at butterflies, or just pouncing for the want to do so. She laughed as she went, bounding through the grass that covered the area. She twirled in circles and then laid down, her paws sticking up in the air, pawing playfully. Her long tail swished back and forth, causing the grass around it to flatten, as well as the grass beneath her. She was perfectly content and happy, for she had no cares at this time. She looked at Feral. "So, how many more wolves are in these lands?" she asked, playfully swatting at a bug that flew above. It gently landed on her nose and she smiled, blowing it off. She was kind of hoping that another would show up.

Feral shrugged, his lavender orbs closing as he thought for a moment. "I don't know," he said at last. "Too many to count." A small field mouse ran through the grass in front of him, squeaking shrilly. He pounced, but missed the fast-moving rodent.

She smiled and lept to her feet. "Oh well, I will meet them soon enough." she wagged her tail and began chasing a butterfly, barking happily. She lept and bounded around, pawing at it. She tumbled in the grass landing on her back and then she gave up. She got back to her feet and trotted over to Feral, her tongue lulling and her tail wagging. "That was fun," she said with a grin. "So, what do you usually do?" she asked, liking dirt of her paw. It wasn't really visible as she did have dark brown fur but it was more something to occupy herself with.

Again, the grey fox shrugged. "I hunt... Sometimes I just sit and watch the clouds. Like I said, I've never been much for games."

She smiled, "I love watching the clouds. They are cool to watch. Another thing I like to do is go up and play on the clouds. Especially the big white puffy ones." she wagged her tail. "They are my favorite." She knew he wasn't one for games but it didn't bother her. She looked at the forest in the distance and then looked back at him. "Are you hungry. I haven't eaten since yesterday afternoon." she asked with a hungry smile. It was about 9:30 in the morning, humans would say and she was ready to eat.
