A few of the wolves came over, looking at the two. "You two are welcome to stay here." one said softly. Kyra shook her head. "No, I'm too used to living alone beside Myrror."

Myrror nodded her agreement. "Yes," she said, "the whole pack structure isn't really for me. Thank you for the offer, though."

"All right. But you are welcome to stay here as long as you like." They walked away, back to the others. "I guess you would like to get going your own way, wouldn't you Myrror. I've dragged you around only to have the mission fail." she was already starting for the lake, going to swim across it instead of the river.

Myrror shook her head as she followed Kyra to the lake. "No, it's alright," she said firmly. "I'm only sorry it ended in disappointment for you."

"Are you sure?" she jumped in the lake, beginning to swim slowly across the lake. These were the times she wished she had wings.

Myrror nodded. "Yes, I'm sure." She flew low to the surface of the lake, her paws lightly skimming the surface of the water.

She finally reached the shore and shook off her fur, glancing back at the others before looking at Myrror. "Where to now? Now that I know I'll never see my parents." she said the last bit a little sorrowfully.

Myrror landed lightly upon the shore, wincing as her injured forepaw touched the earth. "We should head back to the Shinkou packlands," she said. "I don't like being away from home for too long."

Myrror turned to face Kyra. "Why ever not?" she asked, cocking her head slightly to one side. Truly the wolves of Shinkou were welcoming to newcomers.
