Deftly his eyes followed her's for a moment before the smirk was washed from his face. "I see. So I intimidate you? I strike fear into your heart? Do I do that?" His barage of questions was sudden, just as his appearance was.

"You don't frighten me," she said calmly. "I'm intelligent, though. I don't attack those that are obviously more powerful than I."

One brow lifted slowly and he smirked. "As flattering as that is you have made a mistake. You are assuming my powers with not having seen any display. For all you know I could be some primped out arrogant creature."

The femme's dark crimson orbs narrowed slightly. "And what if I can sense your power?" she asked softly.

Slowly that nightmaric creature took another step close. "You believe you can sense my power? That sixth sense that creatures claim to have it just pure instinct. They use their other senses subconsciously to try and 'scan' for powers or other creatures. It is extremely easy to avoid that 'sense' by clouding one or a few of the other senses. So in the end, you see, you are assuming my powers. Never completely trust your senses, for they can be fooled." The creature tapped her forehead with a claw. "If you trust anything, trust what you have for a mind. It is the only constant within your body. "

Ayah growled softly, backing away. "I'm not saying I can," she said in a low voice. "I was just saying... What if?"

The frightening creature's ears perked at her growl. Slowly a chuckle rumbled in his throat. Soon it had grown into head throwing maniacle laughter. Suddenly he stopped and snapped his head down, eyes only an inch from her's. "The question 'what if' sends one's mind in a matrix of possibilities that they go through subconsciously in but a matter of seconds. What if suddenly a rock fell from the sky and hit my head. What could happen? What if a bear leapt from that bush and killed you in one swipe. The realm of 'what if' is just fantasy. Those who dwell too much in that realm tend to loose their head, literally and metaphoricly."

A soft growl emanated from her. "Don't tell me you've never just sat and thought about things," she said incredulously.

A ferocious growl bubbled up in the throat of that being. "Of course I have. Why else would I know all I do. I do no think about what could be or what could have been. I dwell on the world. Never did I have time for fantasy and never will I even bother to try."

The mascu did not feel compelled to follow the other. A snort of disgust came from his nostrils as the female trekked away. "Typical. Why is it all the being I meet that have any form of wisdom to them flee from all conflicts. Those who stay want a fight and those who run fear me or are too arrogant to even let the spark of conversation grow. I guess you are no exception."

"I see." Said the creature with a small smirk. "You know, I am suspicious of others. Yet I choose to be so discretely. To give them false confidence should a conflict arise."
