Slowly, she padded forward, blood dripping into her yellow eyes. Fangs were bared in a defiant growl, and she leapt at the hellhound once again.

He jumped aside, barely escaping her. As he did so, his paws slipped in the soppy mud, but he dug into it and managed to regain his balance. He growled at her, the ground beneath him gaining a sort of crimson look as blood slowly leaked from the wound in his shoulder. He still continued to circle around her, still trying to decide if she had a weak point, and what it could be. He leapt at her, slashing his jaws, then quickly jumping away, trying to stay light on his feet while maintaining balance.

She gave a high pitched yelp as his fangs slashed her side, but she was determined not to give up. She swayed slightly, lightheaded from bloodloss, but dug her claws deep into the muddy earth to keep her balance. This creature had no right to her kill. She would not let him take it from her, at least, not while she was still alive.

He smirked as he watched her. He eyed the deer and licked his chops. He then looked at her and snarled, no longer searching for a weak point. He lunged at her, fangs gleaming in the flashing light above. His jaws slashed at her, as did his claws, seeking to tear her flesh.

She staggered and fell, his claws leaving long gashes in her shoulder. She did not attempt to stand, but merely allowed her golden eyes to slowly close, and held her breath, hoping he would think she was dead.

He growled, standing over her. He slashed his jaws at her throat, hoping to pop the vein that ran there.

Instinctively, she jerked her head back, though she hoped he would assume she was merely in her death throes. Blood seeped from the shallow wound his teeth had made in her throat, and pooled upon the ground, matting her silver fur.

He growled, frowning at her for a moment and then slashed at her again. He hoped to catch her throat in his jaws this time.

She snarled suddenly, jerking her head upwards and slashing at his vulnerable throat with her strong jaws.

He was surprised and jumped back, whining as blood began to leak from the wound she had now just inflicted. Her fangs had torn the flesh of his throat, his death narrowly escaping. He lowered his head to slow the bleeding, not wanting to care for any of his wounds as she could use that for an advantage. He glared at her, growling fiercely. He cursed as he began to again circle, eyeing her and growling.

Slowly, she began to back off, moving closer to the deer. "If you were... hungry you could have just... asked," she gasped. "You didn't have... didn't have to attack me."

He scowled, "Right, like you really would have let a hellhound like me have some of your kill," he said watching her carefully.

She coughed, and spat out a mouthful of blood. "I'd let... anyone, if they... if they were hungry."
It was true. She was a compassionate sort of wolfen, after all.

He frowned, "Well, even if you would have then, you probably wouldn't now," he said, growling. He ruffled his feathers, the storm was starting to light up and it was evident for the rain was not falling as hard. He looked up at the sky but snapped his head back down to protect his throat from her jaws.

She shook her head to rid the blood from her eyes. "Maybe... and maybe not."
