Buddhism is fun. Haha jk, jk I wouldn't know. lmfao But yeah. My dad and stepmom are strictly christian. It used to be: I was baptist, they were catholic, and everyone else in my family were some form of christian or another... other than baptist. The only other baptists I know of that I'm related to are my great aunt and uncle. But yeah. Then God just kind of... Left me, I guess. I don't know. It's confusing. But I was drawn to Wiccanism for obvious reasons. ^^

I'm a Christain, but I'm not one of those liberal I'm-so-high-up-on-my-horse people. I think I can be a Christian and still listen to secular music (AFI <3) and party and have fun XD And I don't dress in baggy, overly-modest clothing like the ones who wear long skirts and men's work shirts.... I get all of my clothes from PacSun, American Eagle, and Hot Topic XD
Everyonce in a while I'll shop at Kohls, but only for jackets and stuff. I enjoy being wild and crazy, and I don't think that just because I'm a Christain that means I have to only listen to Christain music and dress like a man in baggy clothes.....
Anywayssss..... XD

Nobody really understands the concept of god, that's what makes faith faith, if we understood it and could prove it, then we'd call it "Law"

Wiccanism, that was the other one I forgot. Definitely drawn to that one as well, but I'm not sure if I'd actually convert to one full time....

As I've been told Demin, but I've always kinda viewed them in something of that manner. Note my parents aren't exactly religious either so this sort of stuff really isn't reinforced in my home.
World peace? Ermmm......I have no words on that topic right now. ;D

Ooooookay. World Peace. If it can be achieved at all it wouldn't last very long. The human race has way too many religious beliefs and political views that differ too much from each other. Many people wouldn't put aside their beliefs for the greater good, it's just how things work.

I believe world peace will happen, and stay. I think that it's going to take a while; if it just happened, then it wouldn't last very long. The thing is, world peace isn't just having all the countries united without wars. That's a lesser peace, which wouldn't be very stable if we just stopped a that point. World Peace, to me, means that we have reached the very ideal society; "Heaven on Earth".
But we can't reach this with the kind of World Order that we have right now. The way the world is right now won't bring it up. That's why I think we need to have a different "world order", and different ways of thinking. Like, for example, a different way of politics. A system that's more effective. Another example would be our very own standards; instead of thinking "you shouldn't let your envy control you", you should instead "obliterate any shred of envy or jealousy that comes about in your thoughts".

Itena, it's in a humans' nature to want more than they have. It's the way we are and it's the way we'll always be. We can't get rid of the feelings of jealousy or envy no matter how hard we try, it just won't happen. There's going to be someone who has more than us, and we'll want what they have. There will always be somebody with an object, a way of living, more money, or even someones' love and we'll be envious or jealous of them. It's in our nature and it always will be.
And your "Ideal society" and "Heaven on Earth" thing, I believe, will never happen either. Heaven is a perfect place. No war, no pain, no hate, no starvation, no wickedness of any kind. Once again, we're humans. We have flaws in some way, shape, and form. We will cause pain, we will hate, we will wage war, people will starve, and wickedness or evil can never truly be destroyed. Good and evil, darkness and light; one can't exist without the other. Humans will never reach any kind of perfection, and Earth, I think, will never reach the ideal society you speak of. People won't change the way they think easily, or at all in some cases.
And every political system has and will have some kind of flaw in it. Look at communism. It looks like the perfect form of government, in theory; everyone has and gets the same. But that form of government failed because of greed. People have striven to come up with the perfect form of government since civilized society began, but it just can't be done.

No, communism failed because humans arent equal.
The view of a perfect planet and world peace is something that can be realized if and only if we take away human emotions. If we move and sit like driods. If we took away creative thinking. I can guarentee world peace if we took away every human emotion. That means no religon, no government, no happiness, no greed, no jealousy, no love. Envy isnt the only emotion that can cause war. Love for example is a major factor, look at Helen of Troy. So many loved her they'd fight to death for her. Look at the Christains, they loved their form of religon so much they fought a hundred year war just to "spread the word of God."

Well, I believe that there are two parts of a human being: the spiritual side, and the animal side. The spiritual side, which derives from our souls(and I think the soul is "you", the body is just a shell in which our soul lives in); and the animal side which comes from our bodies. The spiritual side is the focal point for positive emotions such as love, compassion, etc. The animal side is what creates such things as selfishness, envy, hate, violence, etc. This is probably because of the body's instincts of survival. The thing is that we are constantly trying to win over from our animal side, and we must constantly strive to overcome these emotions.
As for human equality, I believe that everyone is equal. The problem is, for centuries, many people have thought that they are either lower or higher than someone else. This kind of thinking is what's created things such as discrimination, racism, slavery, etc. It's one of the things that people must recognize, and once they do, the world will already have improved.
As for the religion, what you had mentioned before is what would be called "extremism", correct? "Moderation in Everything" is something that hasn't been practiced in that case. I think that moderation is a very important quality that needs to be used more in society right now.

But if no one was selfish..we wouldnt survive. You offering food to a bum is taking away from your survival. If you offered everything you had you wouldnt survive. The same with everyone else. No one would want to eat that one scrap of food because it would be selfish. WE cant be ruled by our spiritual side...no one would survive.
