Phantom gave a startled jump when Antarctica asked her a question. She turned her head with a confused look. Was I that loud? Did I disturb you?" Mal was still sleeping by her side, he seemed closer than before, so she guessed he had woken up then went back to sleep. "Ya, i'm fine. Just a little headache." She looked around to get a better understanding of where she was. She looked around and could only see was a field that seemed to stretch on forever. The only place it stopped was behind the edge of the forest behind her. "i'm sorry." She blurted out. "i uh, i guess im not the most coordinated wolf ever." She looked down embarrassed and dragged her paw back and forth in the dirt. "And, I hope you didn't have to carry me very far." She felt terrible, she has only been with them for a while and is already causing so much trouble for them. She just hoped that none of them would share the same fate as her brother. He had been so kind to her even though she got him in trouble a lot. She would never forget him.

Antarctica shook her head when Phantom asked if she had disturbed her. "Not at all." She watched Phantom's movements and body language as she spoke again, looking around, and finally appologizing. Antarctica smiled. "No need to appologize, dear. We are packmates now. We don't mind helping you out if it's needed." She paused, observing the other wolfess once more. "Anyway, I'm glad you're feeling better. And that you've awoken. I was worried you might sleep significantly longer." She paused again and rose, stretching. She glanced down at Mal briefly.
"I would let him sleep as long as he desires," she said simply, not that Phantom would wake up Maelathorta, but she said it just in case. The male definitely needed his own rest to restore himself. She moved to sit near Phantom, if the other allowed it. "I'm terribly sorry your first day in Shinkou brought you so much trouble already. Usually, one can go anywhere in the lands and be perfectly safe from harm - for the most part. I suppose it's only natural to encounter a bear now and again, however it's not often. In any case, it certainly has given us somewhat of an adventure," she said laughingly.
"I hope it hasn't discouraged you from staying, though. I truely hope you find yourself at home here." She glanced toward the distance, wondering how Phantom would respond.

Phantom watched as Antarctica moved towards her. She dipped her head to signal it was alright. "Well you know, I actually think I brought the trouble with me." She with a big puppy-like grin forming on her face. "Trust me, it was like this when I was with my family." She paused, looking at the ground trying not to think about it. "Trouble always seemed to find me." She stopped and thought of something to say that would lighten the mood. "I just hope you can handle it."
"So, what did you do to the bear? It looked like some sort of fog, then it turned into ice. What is your magic?"She felt like a puppy, as she blurted out all the questions. :I'm supposed to have magic, being a Youroi in all. But i'm mute. Not that it's all that bad." She paused, then looed up at the sky before continuing. "It's just that I wanted magic, just like my brother. Even though I was older than him, I still looked up to him." She stopped, and guessed that it was good idea because she could feel tears beginning to form. She sighed and waited for the she-wolfs answer.

As Maelathorta woke from his short rest, he looked up to see the newcomer about to cry... he couldn't remember her name just yet, he was still too slee--Phantom! That's her name. He saw Phantom with tears in her eyes, and naturally he was concerned. Standing up, he pads over to stand beside her and rubs his muzzle on her shoulder trying to comfort her. By that point fully awake, he asked her, "Hey, what's wrong, Phantom?" He wants to look after her and keep her safe... but is that normal? He'd always felt kinda giggly around females, but there was something different about this one, he wanted to protect her, not just make her laugh. For the first time in many moons, he severed the magical tie to the black moon above his head, causing it to vanish, though the rod about his neck keeps glowing grey-blue, gently swinging back and forth like a pendulum.

Antarctica listened silently as Phantom spoke of her past and how she felt trouble followed her. She couldn't help but think of her own past and family... especially here beloved mate and the son who had taken after him the most, Gelu. But she pushed the thoughts aside. She wasn't one to dwell on the negative. Before she could say something, Phantom was asking her questions and speaking again. She smiled. "Well, I have magic in both water and ice. I combined them to temporarily lock the bear in a frozen state until we could all get away." She paused. "I have several skills for such uses with my magics, but I prefer to use them for healing. I would say that is perhaps my specialty."
She nodded briefly when Phantom explained how she was a mute and how she had looked up to her brother. "I suppose I can understand that, Phantom. But you must know something. There is strength in not having magic and I think there is something to vouch for in you and your having come this far with no magic at all." She paused, a smile in her face. "I hope that you discover your own strengths in time, dear Phantom, and that someday you'll see how others look up to you as well."
It was then Mal woke up and went to Phantom's side, concerned for her. Antarctica looked at Maelathorta and dipped her head slightly. "Good to see you're awake, Mal. How are you feeling?" Antarctica meant in no way to take the attention off of Phantom.. but merely to make sure both parties were well since they had been injured.

((Sorry it's short! D: I threw in all of the filler details I could! >_<))
Mal glanced at Antarctica. "Oh, I'm fine." he said, looking back at Phantom. He was really beginning to like her... He wondered if that meant anything, or if he was just inflating situations beyond their respective sizes again. He had never really had siblings. Well, of course he had siblings, but he never really felt like a sibling to them, leading to his over-exuberant nature to get others to like him to make up for it. He gave Phantom a single lick on the forehead, in the hopes that it might help comfort her.

Phantom was glad when Mal reassured them that he was alright. He gave her a quick lick on her forehead, surely to comfort her. She gave him a quick lick in return on the cheek as a thanks. It took Phantom a moment to realize that this is how she would comfort her brother. She hoped that he would not think that she was trying to replace her brother with him. Or that she was using him to fill the emptiness in her heart. But, that she truly thought of him as a close friend, even as a brother she never wanted to loose.
With those thoughts put aside, a cool breeze caught her attention. The sky had turned to an array of colors that blended together. The orange into the pink, and then the pink into the purple. What a beautiful sunset. "Normally I would say that it was getting late and we should head back. But I can't seem to take my eyes off of the sunset." Phantom looked at Antarctica, her pelt was dappled with all the colors of the sky. Then she turned to Mal, his dark, almost blue, purple eyes shone brightly with hints of orange and pink. Phantom couldn't help stare into his eyes. Something about him made her feel comfortable, like they were destined to meet.
After a couple of minutes she realized that she had been staring into his eyes the whole time. She lifted her gaze back to the sky and waited for their return to the dens.

Antarctica smiled and nodded when Mal answered that he was alright, and looked toward the sunset when Phantom spoke of it. It was indeed beautiful. Perhaps they would all sit and watch it as it slowly disappeared beyond the horizon and gave way to night and the moon and stars' time in the skies.
Antarctica was content to sit back slightly. It seemed Mal and Phantom were growing in bond, and she sort of felt like "three makes a crowd", although she knew her presence was not unwanted. She simply let them do as they pleased and was happy to enjoy their company.
Soon, once night had fallen and pushed the sun away, she would rise and stretch, glancing in the direction of the dens. She would take them a different route than the forest, thinking it might be better on everyone's mind with the whole bear experiences earlier. "If you would like to return to the dens, I can lead you there." She would smile and wait and if they agreed, she would begin moving in that direction, soon to arrive back at the dens, but if they did not, she would wait till they were ready.

Maelathorta watched the sun set as Phantom gazed into his eyes. He didn't acknowledge her, though. She was obviously enjoying herself, and he didn't want to ruin that. When she looked away several minutes later, he leaned into her and licked her forehead again. He watched her for a moment, then looked back to the sunset with her.
After a while, though, he got bored. Realizing he didn't have it up, he recreated the glowing black crescent above his head. The sun was nearly set by now, and the soft glow from the rod about his neck lit up the fur on his chest and neck. Putting his paw to it, he pulled out a small ball of light, not much bigger than the paw that pulled it. He put it on the ground and rolled it around, apparently having made it corporeal. He played with it a bit, then rolled it over to Phantom, right before Antarctica offered to lead them back to the dens. If Phantom didn't react to the ball, it would simply bump into her paw, almost imperceptibly.
((So Wolfie... what do you think will come of this 'bond' they are developing? Tell me in a PM so we don't ruin the surprise for anyone reading eagerly. :3))

EDIT:
Phantom could feel the chills run up and down her spine as the night temperature began to drop at a steady rate. She shivered with cold as Mal gave her another lick on the forehead. She leaned in towards him and rubbed her head in the rod of his neck. His chest simply inhaled and exhaled, making her head move back and forth. She backed away after a moment, forgetting she had an audience. She watched as Mal created a ball of light and began to play with it. He rolled it over to Phantom, who was fascinated by the ball of light. She put her paw on the ball of light, and to her surprise, the ball kept her paw up. She examined it and curiously stuck her nose up to it. It smelled simply like nothing. She played with it for a minute then returned it back to Mal.
((I edited it but I don't think(hope) you don't have to change anything. I just changed the ball part because she can touch the ball of light.))

OoC: I dunno who asked, but I'm cool with someone else joining in if everyone else is xD
iC:
Antarctica watched as the two began to play, seemingly caught up like two pups who have just discovered something new. She smiled, deciding to let them do as they pleased. Though, as the night grew, it grew cooler and she felt it was best to get back to the dens.
"Phantom, Mal..." she paused, not wanting them to feel like she was bossing them around, but at the same time, trying to get across her position in this matter. "I think it's best if we return to the dens for the night. Perhaps you can continue any games nearby... it's up to you on that."
She glanced around, and finally back at them, this time starting to motion in the direction she would go. She was sure if they desired to remain, Mal could get himself and Phantom back to the dens, at least in knowledge of the land based on his position. Nevertheless, she had a feeling they shoud stick together... at least for now.

((I actually expected Phantom to reply to Antarctica in her last post. Oh, well.)) He acknowledged Antarctica's words just before Phantom passed the ball of light back to him. He pushed down on it with his paw, causing it to go into the ground and vanish. He then turned to Antarctica and said, "Yes, that sounds like a good idea. There are many creatures out at night we do not want to encounter." He turned and walked to Phantom's side. [/size]

Phantom had no clue what creatures would be out, and she didn't want to. She got up at turned around in a circle, searching for a direction to leave. "Umm, which way do we go?" In the distance, she could hear the 'Hoo' of an owl. Startled she jumped back, bumping into Mal. She didn't know if she knocked him down, all she knew was she fell to the ground with a soft oof. Her face grew red from embarrassment.
